I believe that those that are proxybanned cannot list anything in their profile.
I haven't tested this (and I don't want to go through Tor-captchas to try).
If there is a requirement for a profile to have at least two posts in order to have their website displayed, there will be an incentive for people to create spam-bots that write exactly two posts and fill in a website they want to be advertised.
I considered that too, but there are spambots already. And all it would take it reporting one of their posts to remove the link again. Now Website links stay, I think even after the account gets Nuked.
Why do we have to wait until a user has been nuked/banned and their content removed? Why no dial it up in much the same way you can't post in your signature until you've advance through the ranks
I guess that's because the Website-link is "grandfathered" in the forum. Without spammers, it wasn't a problem at all.
A simpler proposal would be to remove the website link until you become a Member.
I tried not to raise the bar too high, but I'd be totally fine with this too
