Profile settings help

As you can see next to my profile info I can’t remove my post count or email icon.

I’ve tried to save & resave my profile settings but to no avail.  I’ve checked & unchecked & saved the box next to “show post count” & “hide email” but they won’t register.

It’s not a huge deal but I must be missing something.

1. Your email is hidden for the public. Only you can see it.
2. The same thing applies with the posts count, you're not gonna be able to see my posts in this reply, it's just yours that is visible but if you visit my profile, you can always see my post count there.

No actually, I can see your post count, the settings you changed will basically make the postcount of other members invisible to you. Meaning that if you were to enable it, you won't be able to see my current post count unless you visit my profile. People will always be able to see your post count, there's no way to hide that.

I don't see any extra icons with links on your profile, except ones that come from BPIP extension.
You can't hide number of posts you made in forum, so I can see that for all members.

So I don't understand if you want your email to be shown or hidden from others?
I can't see your email address and I would not post it in public to avoid receiving spam or scam attempts.

Ahhh ok! Got it. So the option to show post count is for what I see for other users!

No, your email is hidden. Only two icons are visible to me on your profile, one is a profile link and another for PM. I can't see anything wrong with that. Regarding post count, OmegaStarScream already explained you. You can't hide your own post count anyway and it's always visible to your profile. So no worries.

Your post count can been reviewed from your profile, and some can see your post count you make per or per week the person most have visited your profile, in aspect of email, only you have the access to penetrate on you email even though your email is not hidden on your file, no body see your post count from your email

just make sure to not mistakenly post your email on any of your posts. because if you do, it can still be found through the archive even if you edited or deleted your post. anyway, I'm glad the members have been a help to your problem.

It is up to you if you choose to hide your email or keep it hidden, the choice is yours. About showing the post count it is possible to show the post count which will be seen next to merit count. It is only you who can see the post count but other forum users won't be able to see the post count unless he/she wants to make it visible. Earlier, I ask a friend to check my post count if it is visible to him when I check the box "Show post count" but when he replied, he said there's no post count shown unless he checked it too.

To make it visible (ONLY YOU)
Go to "Profile"
Click "Forum profile information"
Navigate to
Check the box "Show post count by posts" which can be seen above Other contact info located at the bottom.
Then click "Change Profile".

Yes I understand how to change the setting.  What was confusing me was I could still see my own post count next to my other stats.  I realize now that I will always see it, but others won’t.

Yes it will still be seem even if you didn't  change the settings to the post count. As I have said, even if you change the settings to show post count to all account but still only you can see that and also what you just said that you can still see the post count. Just don't think too much about the post count you see. It's good that you did your best to understand it right away. Have fun learning in Bitcointalk forum.
