Open source wallet that supports many altcoins available?

Put aside hardware wallet I don't have money for that right now, what are the open source wallets available on smartphone like android? Electrum is open source but doesn't support tokens and ETH, is there any open source wallet that support many altcoins?

I hear coinomi and trust wallet being mentioned a lot for supporting many altcoins.

I'd probably recommend a wallet per altcoin for the best security (unless the altcoin isn't well known as it might be possible the wallet has a virus - this has happened before).

Wallets like metamask will work for ethereum and compatible chains like fantom and binance smart chain (afaik) so you might be bale to get enough of what you need from electrum and metamask.

Coinomi and trust wallet are pretty bad suggestions, especially as the OP is looking for open source wallet software options.
Both coinomi and trust wallet has been exposed to not be open source and there is other security risks which those platforms are susceptible to.

A hardware wallet might be expensive relatively, but for maximum security it is the best option, or you could single out each crypto you want to store and find open source alternatives for them.

I think most multicurrency wallets are not open source for some reason. I look for such a wallet back then, but I wasn't successful. The only Open-source multicurrency wallet I know is Mycelium, but it also has limited coin support. These are Bitcoin, Ethereum and ERC20 tokens only.

If you want open source wallets, you are going to have to download individual single currency wallets of coins of your interest in your phone that are open source

When you are looking for Open Source software, try looking through F-Droid.  A quick search on their website gives me two results.  There is Unstoppable Wallet, which seems to work with multiple Cryptocurrencies including but not limited to Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and other popular Cryptocurrencies.  And there is also Status, a Cryptocurrency wallet that works with Ethereum and ERC-20 Tokens.

I have however not heard about these yet so be careful.  Open Source is not always secure.  Sadly enough, the best Cryptocurrency wallets with support for a lot of Altcoins turned from Open Source to Closed Source over time.  For what reasons is a debatable topic.

Coinomi is now closed source.  Trust Wallet is partially closed source.  They are not fully open source.

Since you're a newbie, I will recommend you to use the open-source wallet which I also use on my android. I will recommend you to use Trust wallet but you also need to understand how to prevent human error which could make the wallet vulnerable to attack.
I never use Coinomi but in a situation when 2 or more who used a certain are having a complaint it is better to stay away from such a wallet, especially when the wallet once had an issue from the past.

A multi-chain open source wallet is uncommon, however, a single chain open source wallet is more common. There are a handful of Bitcoin wallets available if you want them, and if you only require Ethereum, Metamask will do the job and you can also use Metamask for other EVM compatible chains. Myetherwallet is another open source for Ethereum and other EVM.

OP check out walletscrutiny. So there are open source wallets that are reproducible and reproducible.

According to them, unstoppable wallet seems to be the only multicurrency wallet that is open source and reproducible

Edge wallet is also multicurrency, open source but not reproducible

He is right, by the way. Just because a wallet is open source does not make it bulletproof or the most secure.
