1070s/1080s are still good in 2022?

Do you think that gtx1080 and 1070 have a place in 2022 for mining? The oldest card for mining now is rx580 I believe but if you are in a situation of picking a rig with 580s or 1080/1070 in 2022 which one will it be?

1070 and 1080s eat more power energy I don't see any reason to build a mining rig with such old graphic cards unless mining profit increase a lot, the same thing with rx580 too, if you want something more efficient you need 6600Xt, 1660 super, 1660 Ti, RTX 3060 and 3060ti.

I like more rx 6600 vs 3060, because it get 29 MHS for 45-55w where a 3060 (lhr of course now you cannot find something else) produce 38 MHS for 115-120w

Not to mention they are cheaper

Rx6600 is more efficient hands down, the only GPU that comes close to rx6600 is Nvidia gtx 1660, none Ti or Super, 27Mh with 60 watts but RX6600 and 6600XT are the best, AMD wins in this area.

I have joined groups locally taking info about mining, and they are selling their rx580 cards already. I don't know the reason maybe they wanna upgrade it because it is too old. I am mining also with 1070 and after 5 years, it is still up and running. I don't matter about the electricity bill, as of now I am able to acquire free. If I were to upgrade I would pick 3070ti, it gives you a nice cold temp they say.

Why RTX 3070ti? This card use gddr6x memory and they are always hot, I have a 3070 ti and its getting 60MH on Eth mining but after a few hours the gpu mem gets hotter and it lose 3,MH, if I add extra cooling things go back to normal.

No they are not, 1070 and 1080 are power huggers that need to be avoided by all means unless you have ways around the electricity bill, even 1080ti is not efficient right now, they are a big no for someone like me.

I have many of these video cards, they are good, because they have worked for more than 5 years. But you need to understand that it is very difficult to buy these video cards in good condition. Most video cards have a broken cooling system and I use regular 80x80 or 90x90 coolers. Some video cards do not work well in overclocking. I know perfectly well all the problems of my video cards, but I would not buy someone else's GPU.

I wouldn't buy any Pascal based Nvidia cards for mining Ethash. Nvidia Pascal cards are no where near as efficient today on Ethash as the Polaris cards despite pulling over twice the power and running much hotter than AMD Polaris cards. Pascal 1070/1080/108Ti cards have the DAG file size limit bug where they lose hashrate every month from the growing DAG size. Nvidia never patched it, now even with a 1080Ti you might get ~45 MH/s instead of the 55 MH/s+ you originally got. AMD quickly developed the blockchain drivers to address the issue before it escalated and continues to implement it in their current drivers with compute mode. Many large mining farms that were started during the 2017 bull run still in operation are still using Polaris cards.

GTX 1080 and 1070 Nvidia cards are not future proof, their time is passing by very fast same as rx580s, they have good mining performance but they consume too much power, you will only enjoy this type of GPUs when mining profits are very high.

You are wrong, only GTX 1080Ti can do 45MH on ETH using the ETHlargement pill not the GTX 1080 and also this GTX 1080Ti uses 202 watts for that 45MH which is too high, even a RX Vega 56 is better since they do 50MH with just 100watts.

35 Mhsh in Ethereum is the best option, but some of my video cards do not want to give more than 33 Mhsh. For Ethereum classic with a 3 GB DAG file, this is certainly a good solution, but it is still unknown what profit will be when mining Ethereum classic.

I am saying 45 Mhsh for Ethereum Classic and 35 Mhsh for Ethereum read it again.Gtx 1080 ti can do 50 Mhsh in Ethereum Classic so that is another great card that I would surely buy in because I can do 171 watt at 43 Mhsh in Ethereum.

Or they are getting rid of those graphic cards while they still can, crypto bear market will come and those cards will be around 100$ per rx580 once again, no one should hold their GPU thing such time arrives unless they have free electricity, now is a good time to get out.

1070 sucks if all it can output is 26MH at 106w, are you sure this info is accurate? 106watts for 26MH is too high this isn't good for the average miner that pays the electricity bill, a low end gtx 1660 can do 27MH and take only 50-70watt depending on silicon lottery luck.

This is a real hashrate, because Nvidia did not fix the problem of lowering the hashrate when increasing the DAG file. Therefore, the Ethereum hash rate will drop for 1000 series video cards. But now they are not bought by new miners, mostly these video cards are used by old miners.
AMD solved the problem with 480 and 580 video cards, so there are even now 30 megahash.

If you are going to produce ETH and its derivatives and stay in these algorithms for a long time, choose AMD cards.
As a result, the power levels are still the same.

Nvidia cards lose more MH values due to increasing ram capacity in each Epoch period.
But you are more likely to use Nvidia cards in each algorithm.

I'm still mining with a couple of 1080ti GPUs and they do ok.  Not getting rich or anything but they keep the sats rolling in (I use nicehash to be paid in BTC for my altcoin mining).  In fact, they do about as well as the current gen LHR models of GPUs that most people are buying at outrageous prices.  I'm actually impressed with how long these GPUs have been able to earn Bitcoin at a decent rate.  The only cards that impress me more are my Radeon VII GPUs, that are still extremely profitable after multiple years of mining away.  They're easily the best GPU purchase I've made and I don't see them becoming unprofitable anytime soon.  I just wish I had maxed out my credit card with those when they were available at MSRP.
