Imagine your best friend is a full-time crypto trader.
What would you give him for his upcoming birthday as a present?

I am not a bitcoin trader but a bitcoin HODLer. I would maybe give him a book on the subject or maybe just Bitcoin.
I would also ask him what he likes most about trading and what he likes to do most.
So you can find out his interests and buy a book or an online seminar on the subject.

A decent hardware wallet in case he/she doesn't already have one? You would be supprised how many traders hold their complete stash right on the exchange (even for longer periods of time).

I would buy the bitbox for his friend, because the bitbox is open source and ledger had a Dataleak. I am scared that ledger has a new leak.

That is tricky! One option is to ask what they'd like, because sometimes surprises aren't always good surprises. Maybe there's something simple that will really make them happy. If that doesn't sound like a good idea, maybe a encyclopedia of physical bitcoin or something similar? I like the previous comment about literature as well.
