Our kids represent the leaders of tomorrow, let's teach them about bitcoin now that we can.

My little girl is 3 years and 4 months. Right now she is busy with Nastya, KidsCamp, Cocomelon and recently she got Sofia Little Princes. She is learning. Always next to me with her touch screen laptop and when laptop is not available then on phone. It's hard these days to keep kids away from these gadgets but it is what it is.

When she will start learning her things and will see dad is busy with some computer numbers then may be she will get interested to it. I would not chose anything for her. I will give my best to show her, explore her what she needs to survive but she will need to chose her things.

However I will feel happy if she develop her knowledge in blockchain and crypto.

I think parents should rather focus on teaching their kids good values at an early age, than forcing them to grow up too early. Kids should enjoy their freedom in their early days and they should spend the time to form social bonds with other people and also develop their young bodies to have a healthy and long life.

We have too many kids that are spending way too much time on computers and cellphones and their pre-teen and teen years are speeding past them. Let them have a healthy relationship with their team mates in Sports and also social time with friends and then you can invest in their future, by teaching them how to make money. (A good time to start will be between 16 and 18 years... when most of the basic development are done.) 

Let kids be kids.... that early development is key to a balanced future. 

I din't think it's too early to start giving some very basic money management education when kids are 10-12. At the end some kids make their own lemonade stand or family businesses in the free time to make some extra money, I don't see a big difference. And again, at that age kids are like sponges, they absorb a lot of information, already having some kind of space in their brain related to money and economics is just going to help them in the long run.

The early the better as long they do already into the point that they could able to understand things and wont really be distracted on other things like playing or something but this should be not on the sense that it would really pressure your kids on learning some with crypto.As long they could able to understand out then i dont see any issues with this.You could teach them as early as you could but be sure
that they are serious on listening into you or completely able to understand on what you are talking about.

We are in a digital era where young kids already familiar with modern technology. Some schools are already doing great in that aspect of exposing young children to certain new technology and trends following the full PG guidelines. I think it is good to gradually introduce the idea to them and as time passes they will come to understand it much more as they grow.

I will definitely teach my kids the basics of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology but I won't force them to follow my path but just let them decide for themselves when they are old enough and aware of everything. Most of them today are more interested in playing online games. I'd like to start by teaching to play Axie or whichever game will be good for earning. Making this investment enjoyable for the kid. I'm sure he will find someone to chat with about tokens and BTC one day.

But if they can start earning from playing, that will be a very good motivation for them to be interested in bitcoin in the future. You will know if they are interested because they will surely keep on asking you but if not, i will still guide them as to what makes them happy. This is a very good idea. The kids of nowadays are almost born a genius if not one. They can easily learn and understand faster at a speed faster than the elders. Money management and financial knowledge is a must, no matter what your job is your degree or your hobby. Most of kids doesn't know anything about investment, at least teach them about money management and saving. When they already teenager, you can start slowly teach about investment... but not force him about Bitcoin only, you can explain the other investment assets e.g. gold, stock, real estate etc. It's up to your kids to choose which investment they prefer.

So you're saying that growing up in a system that wants you do to certain things, behave a certain way, spending you're money the way they prefer, the kids should be able to completely ignore all that? And they're supposed to do all this by themselves? Why aren't the parents supposed to help? I never received any kind of financial education and now it's something that I regret, my parents only taught me not wasting my money because there always is some hard work behind it, but that's not a lesson that can actually change your life.

I am already doing the work of teaching the youngest in my home about bitcoin.

But, my children have the right to know about it someday, especially to know what their parents are doing.

Sure, I'll introduce Bitcoin to my children and let them know. However, it should be at a proper time and with no force to learn it. I probably tell them about Bitcoin when they are already in Senior High School or 18+. I want my children to be mature enough when they know Bitcoin or any crypto coins. Children are not that hard to teach as long as they have the interest on it. But since bitcoin does not exist physically, so i will just start teaching them saving money like putting coins in a piggy bank, or better yet exposing them in a bitcoin wallet which will serve as their piggy bank. That way, they will keep on saving coins in their wallet which they can closely relate once they are mature enough to understand about the concept of bitcoin. Having them aware at an early age will be their best asset once they start taking real investments in bitcoin in the future.

I totally agree with you, but for sure it's a good thing explaining them how money works because at the end of the day we all need some money to live. I began having some interest in understanding how money works after I got introduced to bitcoin, and it's a pity that no one told me some things earlier, and at the same time I never felt curiosity about this world. This is why I don't want the same thing to happen to my kids as well. I won't push them, but in this world you must understand some things, wether you like them or not it's not important.

Yeah, although less about how money works, and more about their decision making processes. The thing is, it sometimes annoys me to see that children are now being corrupted for a lack of a better word, and instead of playing, and doing what kids usually do, they're now looking to earn money at very young ages. Now, you could say that's a good thing, but I see it differently. I think they're somewhat pressured into it, if not directly from the parents themselves, then the pressure that they might have seen their parents under.

Obviously, this depends on how old we're talking. Teenagers, fine. They do need to learn how to handle money, and what its all about. However, anyone younger, and that's just a little excessive in my opinion. For example, I've seen users here claiming to have gifted their 8/9 year old or whatever, Bitcoin. However, I'm dubious if that's what the kid actually wanted, as opposed to what the parent wants to push their kid towards, if you get me.

However, telling them Bitcoin is better, and will cure all their problems or if they invest they'll be millionaires isn't right. I wouldn't tell an adult that, let alone a impressionable kid. Bitcoin is, and will probably remain so for the foreseeable future, a niche. Only certain people care about privacy or having the freedom to control their own money. In fact, you'll find a lot of people that are scared of that responsibility.

It's good when you teach your kids the sources of your income. You should enlighten them on the basis of what you do for survival. If it's Bitcoin trading, let him know. Educate him on every angle he should know. So, when he has grown up he won't depart from him. A young kid that's responsible and has enough work to do won't waste his time mingling or flirting with friends. He should learn how to trade from a tender age so that he would be an expert in trading when he grown. He will think straight and acts positively.

Its good to teach our kids as early as possible about what we want them to learn especially in financial aspect. But not to the point that we have to force them to understand what it is. I believe there's a time for everything and that is when they are ready and capable to understand Bitcoin.

Although kids nowadays are smart and expose to the new technology, I think its still best to let them explore and enjoy their youth. My eldest is still a minor and probably its not easy for her to understand Bitcoin. But she is aware that Bitcoin is a crypto and an alternative to fiat that can be use to purchase items online.

In my opinion it's fine to teach bitcoin to kids as early as they can understand and adopt it, because bitcoin is constantly getting more and more valuable as the time goes by, while also increasing its support worldwide.

Just imagine if kids adopted bitcoin years ago and played online games which rewarded free satoshis as prizes. That would have been great and also a big boost for executing plans which demand financial resources they want to achieve when growing older.
