My children are very young, and I intend to teach them about bitcoin but when they are 10 years old or maybe older. Our parents have never forced us into anything, so there's no reason we should force them.

My parents did not teach me what cryptocurrencies are, they only care that I go to school and get knowledge there. I also never had any prohibitions, I could do whatever I want (of course, within reason). But I would not mind if I was told about bitcoin earlier and explained its advantages. It would save a lot of my time and save me from so many mistakes, but nothing happens for nothing, thanks to these mistakes I learned a lot.

The roles of Parents are to guide their Children in the right direction not taking decision for them, parents do this by giving them the right information at the right time when they need it, which means there is a particular age when you should start teaching them about Bitcoin as a Bitcoin enthusiast,  maybe from the age of 15 and above, that BTC could be a trending investment of the future.
age of 15 is actually not right age for learn anything hard thing. Bitcoin is also one of them. i am also a father of a child.  I will teach about bitcoin to my child When he crosses 18 years and becomes an adult according to the rules of my country. And I will let him know about this forum and all my wallet and bitcoin related stuff so that he can enjoy them after my death. This is my dream

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Parents are some times responsible for the lives their kids are living today, they force things that aren't necessary on them, in the end they change their ways, I will never force crypto on my kids, it's the same thing as hosting seminars about bitcoin to bunch of people that aren't really into the tech, there is a big difference between not having interest and having interest.

Some kids are born into this world for some reasons, you need to watch them closely and notice what they are good at, every kids have their talent but many parents killed those talents because they want them to be something else.
Nobody is saying you should force your kids to know about bitcoin. If you really know how important bitcoin is of course you would like to share knowledge about bitcoin with your kids. Even if you have to share the knowledge of bitcoin to your children it is not by force for them to invest or to take bitcoin serious,  it is their decision and choice to accept bitcoin or not. Nobody force anyone in life to make money, it is a choice and decision for people to think of making money.  Bitcoin is a choice and force , bitcoin  is an individual pursuit .
If you feel you can't teach your children bitcoin it is your own choice  and your own financial decision.

Learning about bitcoin has a lot of different angles too.. so there are some aspects of bitcoin that are going to be easier than others, and some aspects of bitcoin that will be more relatable to younger folks than others, so some of the ways that any of us might teach anyone else (whether kids or other kinds of people), might partly depend upon from what angle we are talking about the subject matter - even if it might be discussing the various ways that money/value can be held or spent - and whether we might be dealing with physical forms of money/value or if we might be referring to digital forms of money/value.

At what point in life might we start to tell kids about money or exchange value?  Likely the kids are very young when we show them that if they want something that we have to buy it or pay for it with money that we have or that we have acquired... They might not really understand prior to being 3-4 years old, but at some point, they start to realize that some items in the world that we consume are not free, even though some things do seem to be free, like air and water, but sometimes even the level of free versus paying is not clear, but we likely do start to teach kids about these kinds of budgeting ideas and even at some point we might start to give an allowance or suggest that they can earn money through behaviors or maybe they have to do chores, whether we pay them to do chores or it might merely be part of their responsibilities as part of the household... so some kids might hear about bitcoin in ways that are different from our own understandings of bitcoin, and maybe we are going to need to clarify their knowledge of bitcoin or maybe we have to learn for ourselves in order that we are able to attempt to understand bitcoin better in order to figure out if we are wanting to guide some angles of the learning of our kids in regards to how they might consider the likely inevitability of bitcoin in their lives... the longer they live, the more likely that they are NOT going to be able to avoid dee cornz in one way or another.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

I think it is not practical to make them do such in so early stage but familiarization must come in that early , at least bitcoin logo to be drawn without any question or explanation just a plain act for familiarity .

their mind might be fresh but to have it started is something not that bad actually.

If Only I would have another child? then for sure in Her young age at least learnign alphabet ? I will Use Bitcoin Logo instead of Letter B so She will have Idea what it is.
The knowledge I've given my children will make them proud because it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I don't think twice about enlightening them whenever I have the slightest opportunity. Early exposure to bitcoin and its workings will let the child take the first, modest steps toward being familiar with the area. Bitcoin deserves recognition because it is one of the top investments that generates returns. It's not just about having a practical understanding of bitcoin; you also need to be fully aware of the credential component before moving further in the market.

The dream of every successful businessman or woman is to have a good successor. you can not be in the light in which bitcoin has brought you to and allow your children to suffer because you failed to teach them the secret behind your wealth. Let your kids know that bitcoin is the surest way to financial freedom, teach them now that bitcoin is of more value than fiat currency, educate them about the importance of bitcoin to mankind, let them know that bitcoin has changed the economy of countries who saw the light in it and adopted it as a means of doing transactions.

Now that your kids are young and vibrant, be their tutor, ensure they are bitcoin oriented, save them from financial dependency, encourage them to rely on bitcoin instead of saving fiat currency that Depreciates now and then.

Our kids represent the leaders of tomorrow, let's teach them about bitcoin now that we can.

Hi brother I am single and still I ma not married. But in future I plan to do marriage. And if I have had choices than I will Keep my portfolio for my children and also will tell them if they have any kind if Interest in this field. So that's a good thing Bitcoin should be a good investment for us. That's why I like Bitcoin so much.

All children in today's world are very interested in technology.  So I think the kids today don't have to force anything about technology.  Introducing Bitcoin to kids will make them curious about Bitcoin and they will gain more knowledge than us by there own effort. We just need to give them some direction. However, it is not right to introduce our children to technology or Bitcoin at an age when they are not capable of understanding it. However, children above the age of 12 years may be given a small dose.

My kids are too young to fully understand bitcoin but they will know when it’s time. I will take a lot of time explaining everything to them. They will be very wealthy when they inherit my estate. Any kid who gets left bitcoin when they are 30 or older will be incredibly lucky. They will have a life that many of us didn’t & that’s what you aim to do as a parent.

Put bitcoin in cold storage for your children & when they are a little older, explain to them how to redeem it.

I wish Bitcoin was taught to kids in schools

As far as I know, other schools teach bitcoin to their students as a course or subject, I'm just not sure yet. I can't remember where I read the article I'm talking about.

But for me, bitcoin doesn't need to be a course because it can be learned without going to school. Many people have learned and understood bitcoin that most of them are making money now, meaning it can also be taught for free to our children, nephews, or others.

I'm on board with your thinking here .
I'm leaving some bitcoin on a ledger for my kids they're 7 and 4 now .
I talk to my 7 year old about Crypto as he's heard about BTC and Doge through roblox ! He understands the value of money and appreciates anything we do for him which is a blessing

Leaving your kids some bitcoin is great. As they’re too young to fully understand it’s value and potential, keeping it safe and leaving it for them is the best thing right now. When they grow older and fully understand what bitcoin is all about, they’ll be surely surprised and damn well ecstatic that their pop had left them a small fortune.
But for now, I think it’s best to let your kids enjoy their childhood. There would be plenty of time for grownup stuff later on.
Learning is a gradual and sometimes slow process. We shouldn’t rush what’s meant to happen slowly and in due time.

Absolutely, leaving your kids some bitcoin as a future gift is a fantastic idea! It's still early days for the cryptocurrency and they're too young to fully grasp its significance, so keeping it safe until they're ready to understand is the way to go. By the time they grow up and come to terms with what bitcoin really is, they'll be over the moon that you thought of them.

For now, let's let the kids be kids. They've got plenty of time to worry about the grown-up stuff later. Education and understanding takes time and patience, so there's no need to rush things. Let them learn and grow at their own pace, and they'll appreciate the gift even more down the line.

You must really introduce bitcoin to your child as an alternative investment and the best hedge against the evils of fiat currency, you must teach your child about how bitcoin was created and for what after your child is old enough to know about bitcoin according to You. If today you really like bitcoin and benefit from bitcoin, of course you won't close yourself off and enjoy it alone, in my opinion, don't just talk about interest but teaching bitcoin is a sure step for your child's financial freedom in the future and maybe you need to start as early as possible.

It's rather interesting theme for the discussing. My daughter is 7 and she knows what's that even if we didn't tell her specially. But my son is 13 and he doesn't show any interest to it. It all depends on the nature of the children too.

Children has self attitude of testing everything and whenever they saw something they ask many questions about that. If father is talking about BTC with friends or any where child will ask about it and this is the first stage they will learn about BTC.
My country currency is keep dumping every year and I think it's better to teach my children about btc and I hope they will better use of btc. I am planning to make some attractive sticker Which I will glue on the toys .
I also planning to gift Hardwallet (holding 100$ worth of BTC) to my child and will teach how it is more beneficial asset then other. BTC is future and We should not keep our children unaware of this.

7 years old child is not old enough to truly understand financial management and the true value of money, and he/she can easily be carried away there by exposing vital information.

If you must know, there is what we called "Mentorship" learning it themselves can't give the right exposure to the digital world timely but with mentorship and guidance they will faster intakes the words into their brains. Information gotten on time makes a faster results, let say me for instance. I came to this forum as early as 2018 and I wasn't knowing my left and right but the only thing i had in mind was that there's something they called bitcoin that is all. If that there was a mentor around or besides me who will tell me the details of bitcoin and also encouraged me to invest, just take a look at 2018 till date how old is that? I think it should be around 4 to 5 years now.

So it's better they are being taught in school and also as a course of study, now tell me, without teaching them in school how would they be able to read those codes and languages of bitcoin.
This is one thing we are missing in the part of our country.

Our kids are no doubt the future, and what we have today will be carried by them tomorrow. So there is no point in keeping them away from bitcoin.
Few things we need to understand in this regard are that with Bitcoin, kids can gain access to age restricted sites like gambling, etc. Since crypto based sites are open for everyone.
We may start telling kids about Bitcoin once they are a bit grown up and use Bitcoin under the supervision of parents.

I can remember me myself in childhood and I'm sure kids can get access to web sites with age limit if they'll want to, not depending on using bitcoin or not. The most correct way to prevent that IMO is to tell them about risks and stay honest while talking about difficult things. And teaching bitcoin is among the things we should do for our children and their safety: trained means safer. They will find a way to know and use it anyhow, we just should try to be the first who will talk with them about all that.

Hope when I will have kids there will be more cases about teaching them about it
