I updated my miner today using hive OS and finally I can see the memory temp of my RTX3070ti in the dashboard but the bad news is my mem temp is as high as 106°C and the main temp is just 55°C what the heck is this? Something wrong with latest Trex miner or what?

My GPU is a Gaming X trio MSI 3070 ti, Config is 1150 core clock, 2400 Mem Clock, Power Consumption is 176watts

106°C is not good to run for the long term, even with some people saying under 110°C  you're good
GDDR6X are really hot for mining and you can do some things to reduce temps

Can you share the config you're using on this gpu?
Maybe you can reduce temps decreasing voltage, increasing fan speed or you can put a fan direct blowing air to the backplate of your gpu
With some adjustments it's not difficult to achieve at least 95ºC to run safer.

If you want to go a step ahead, the best (and hardest) solution is to change thermal pads, but I don't recommend this, you'll lose warranty.

What type of 3070ti you have? Some brands are worse, I have one that started dripping oil or liquid stuff on the riser after a week of mining, its a brand new MSI 3070ti, I hate this GPU.

Better change the thermal pad, adding an extra fan won't have a big impact on the high temp much, its 3070ti we are talking about here, its never easy to cool these graphic cards.

Better to return this GPU.
I have some cards with the same oil leaking from thermal pads, and I talked to Galax RMA and they said it's normal to thermal pad leaks this "oil", but after some time os use, not a brand new GPU.
In your case, you can ask your money back or change for another GPU
This oil will not cause any problem to your GPU, it only affect the aesthetics

In my opinion, if this GPU have warranty (probably because 3070TI is not old), it's not a good idea to change thermal pad and lose warranty so soon.
I recommended the fan because I use here on my 3080 and helped to reduce my temp, some users from my board did this too and had good results, but again, I said to put a fan, increase gpu fan speed and reduce power, all this together can reduce temps

3070 ti, 3080 and 3090s are hard to cool  Angry

Well, I confess, 106° is a high temperature and deserves attention, because depending on the situation, it may damage your equipment in the future.

Could you share with us your vga settings?

What @rdluffy said can help you a lot, which is decreasing the voltage of your video card.

Does your video card have a lot of dust? The fans working normally? Have you checked?

If your video card was purchased a while ago, I think it's worth changing your thermal paste, if the above advices don't work.

What model of video card? How does this affect your hash rate?
If you have a 3 year warranty then you can do nothing. The cheapest way to solve the problem is to replace the thermal pads or install additional cooling.

Gpu ram generates errors at such high temperatures and may deteriorate. You can avoid this by changing the thermal pads, increasing the fan speeds, lowering the ram frequencies and reducing the ram voltage. The frequency and voltage drop will cause you to lose Mh, but it will keep the cards' RAM intact. Some cards do not affect the ram temperature much when cooling the GPU. You can help cool this issue by increasing the ventilation of the place where the rigs are located.

How can one reduce Nvidia GPU RAM frequencies? I think this is only possible on AMD Radeon graphic cards, what tools to you? MSI Afterburner?

You can add a Copper cooling sink at the 3070 ti backplate, there are few cooling sinks online that are specifically made for this RTX 30** series graphic cards, find them on eBay, Amazon or Aliexpress.

Using MSI Afterburner is quite simple. You must save the settings you have made. You should choose which setting you want the system to start with at startup. Read the article at the address I will give you, you will easily solve your problem.

Two solutions are available for RTX30 series cards that are overheating

1. there is a copper plate available on online stores, it's easy to install and make sure you add thermal paste on the copper plate before fixing the cooler back, it looks like this..

2. There is also another way but a bit dangerous, you will use copper plates too but they are small in size, find the right thermal pad for your GPU, since it's 3070ti I'm guessing 2MM size will work, go on youtube and search for 3070ti copper plate install you will see few videos, see what the copper looks like below..

This second option is very effective, it can take --30°C off your mem temp if done correctly, pls watch videos before proceeding.

Ok I will search on youtube for this modification, I changed the pad yesterday as I don't like it laying around doing nothing but those pads are from china, very cheap too maybe that's why I get bad results, the temp even got worse after changing the pads.

I just change thermal pads from a 3070 ti Zotac, temps and hash change a lot, before was at 106ºC mtemp and almost 35 mhs (throttle all the time), now the card work at 56 mhs 50ºC ctemp 88ºC mtemp. 3mm mosfets and 2 mm memory, i don't change the ones on the backplate, no needed, backplate don't have a fan for dissipation.

Thermalright odyssey pads V1, there is a new V2 version i want to test, waiting for it from aliexpress.

You mean you install 3mm pad on the backplate and the 2mm on the memory, this was what I did with my 3090 weeks ago and the temp dropped down to 86°C, the MOSFET pad on my 3090 is 1.5mm and still intact no reason to change, why did you change yours?

Cheap Thermal Pads don't always work well on higher end GPU like 3070ti and 3080s, good Thermal Pads are costly but that's why they always works, choose those with a 12w on their description like Thermalright Odyssey Pads.

You have expensive gpu with cheap pads. What else can go wrong ?  Grin i advice get thermalright ODIN is best so far.i love them.it is better than regular thermalright

have any 3070ti with out this problem or all brand have same high mem temp
Are you asking if anyone is having the same problem or not? I can't say for sure, but most reviews that I've watched say that the mem temp on recent GPUs is quite high even for regular gaming. If you're using it for mining, just replace the pad or do some modification as mentioned above if you're not comfortable with the temp (as long as you don't mind breaking the warranty).
