My biggest crypto regret

Same. I had lots of Ethereum before but never saw the future.
It's okay though as I learned a lot from my mistakes. Regrets will be part of it and should just move on. Same with Bitcoin and BNB but I said, we don't have a crystal ball to have a glimpse of what will happen and keep it. When a bull comes we tend to be excited about the value gained of our coin and withdraw it instantly. That's just being human.
There are still gems in the crypto market, you will just need to look deeper.

You won't have to regret if you sell your coins still at a reasonable price, as long as you're not losing, then its something you still have to be thankful. However, if you regret of not buying ETH when it was very affordable, and prefer to hold shitcoins and meme coins, that is definitely a valid reason to regret. Apparently, you are not holding them to make profits, but to lose your money, time and effort. For me, i do have my own regret and that is not buying bitcoin when its still very cheap. So i make sure i'm not doing the same mistake again that i may regret in the future.

This is basically how I try to approach things. I made a good profit by selling my bitcoins back in the day, and it was actually quite good, like made 15x return and that was awesome, how would I know that it would have gone up even more .

So, yeah I could have been very rich, literally like buy a whole apartment type of super rich person and that would have changed my life, instead I am living comfortably, do not have too big of a debt, nothing that I can't pay up today, and still working to survive, if I lose my job then I will lose all my income and I would be suddenly poor. That is the difference between "making profit" and "keep holding".

Everyone makes mistakes so there is not much of a point in lamenting what you did back then, what you need to figure out is what to do right now to keep increasing your holdings of ethereum or other coins?

I know it is not easy to let go of the past especially since we are talking about an important amount of money, but you have to do it, otherwise it is going to be impossible for you move forward and this is something that will cause you to make even more mistakes in the future.

We have so many regrets in the past, but if you are looking closely at the pattern there would be a stepping point for jumping price later on that we don't know yet what would happen.
If you remember when in 2017 the price was really high at that time and then went down in next 2 years to be going up again in 2020-current year, so there is no reason to just regret your past decision, there are so many opportunities for us to even get greater rewards with how we experienced the past events in last few years.

I really regret it now that Ethereum is at $3000 and Waves is at $20, of course time can't go back,

I think everyone has the same regrets as like you, especially Ethereum was the biggest regrets who sold it at early stage when price was 200$-300$, in 2017 when i bought more than 30 ETH but i didn’t hold for the long term and it was wrong decision but i sold it for urgent money. Whatever, even if i want to, i can't bring that time back. Yeah, not only ETH, so many projects we missed to hold tightly.

It's okay mate what happens with you is a lesson. we regret sometimes but in then end we realize that regrets is very useful cause we learn how to do it next time. Like your experience you have a bog amount of ethereum but did not handle it properly and sell it when the price are too low.
Now you know for sure if you holding a coin you won't sell it when the price are low.

Well it was still the beginning of COVID era and I won't blame you for that to be honest as everyone is in need of money already and the economy is badly affected by it.
I sold some of my Bitcoins at that time as I needed some money to buy my needs before the lockdown, but I still held some that were still alive and kicking until this day.
I am pretty sure you really need to have some money at that time and you would value your needs over your wealth at that moment.

Maybe this opportunity will come back if the coin price dumps again at a high level. But if this really happened would anyone still dare to hold their coins? Certainly not. Many people will complain if this condition occurs. Even if the price of ETH drops, the price will not be below 1k.

It's really what you have to cope with in this market, because sometimes it will Happen to you in as much as you are only predicting and hoping. No one really knows what the future holds. One thing is that you can just leave a little piece behind. I also do have my own regrets but I don't look back at them. I move on.

Now the decline and increase in prices always occurs only for a while without running for a long time in the market and the only ones that survive this pump and dump condition are coins that already have strong fundamentals.
Examples such as ETH and a very common thing to happen when a decline occurs is to sell existing coins before they all drop to their lowest point before buying back at a certain time.

of course it's a bad experience if you sell the 280 ETH you got, I also had 50 ETH in my wallet,

In your case its Ethereum. Do you really know that it already was the highest price of Ethereum at time? Of course no one knows that is why you need to trust the project if you really want to gain high profits. Many here are investing into Bitcoin because they trust it and they can hold it for many years.
As for me, I don't have any regrets when it comes to crypto. I used Bitcoin to buy my first computer set in 2019. How much is Bitcoin at that time? Did I regret doing it? Not at all because I don't know that Bitcoin will shoot up in the succeeding years.

In investing we must rely on an attitude that is ready to face any situation even though the coins we hold are currently in decline so never panic to sell when we are experiencing losses, such as the coins you hold and it is a coin that has the potential to continue to grow in the future because every bitcoin ethereum rises as long as it can follow, Then never regret what you are doing now, in the future there must be a change.

regretting something that has happened is not good because it can get you stuck in a cycle of regret.
from that incident you can take a lesson that the price of ETH will continue to increase, and what you have to do now so that regret does not happen again is to buy as much ETH as possible for long-term investments. currently the price of ETH is around $3200 and it is very likely that on the next bull run the price of ETH will touch $10k. be prepared so you won't regret it again!

If people buy more than the maximum price then they are hit by FOMO which eventually buys and holds it with higher expectations after a few years but in the end it becomes a big loss, what I said that I have experienced and of course it is a regret that should not be happen again.
By selling coins that don't need big profits I think it's enough as long as we have set the percentage we set, but they are always ambitious and lose for bigger losses even this often happens.

It's a common mistake by a lot to be honest, while we cannot blame some of them due to some being a legitimate newbies. They did not expect the price to peak at that point and just went full money into the coin that they were eyeing on.
I made the same mistake when I was still a newbie like in 2017 when Bitcoin peaked at 20k that time.
