How is the performance of using a wifi hotspot connection for mining? I know routers are the best but I dont have quick money for that right now, can I still use a Wifi Hotspot?.

Are you talking about using a mobile hotspot for mining on a rig? If this is correct then it will work, I used my phone to make a connection available for my mining rig but your ping speed will be affected, you can see 80ms or even more but won't stop your rig from getting shares accepted.

Mining does not need a special Internet access source.
The data sent/received is very little, which could affect the delay that may occur if the communication is too slow.

Therefore, basically any type of connection to the Internet server, as long as it is minimally stable.

Last time I tried which was years ago, it was a pain to use mobile tethering with mining. Basically it ran 30 minutes and then the connection died. No matter how close the iPhone was to the window, it would cut it connection. It was extremely choppy.

The issue also was that when mining stopped so did the hashing and all the stop and start made the GPUs crash for some reason.

So it’s possible however keep in mind it won’t be reliable.

I used wifi hotspot for my mining rigs for a whole year in 2020 before I decided to buy a router and the difference is night and day, the router speed is way better and my ping is faster, its a big headache using a mobile hotspot for mining.
