As per title, Let's play: "Pretend to be Satoshi!"

The rules of this game are simple. You should be either a questioner/someone having a conversation with SN, or pretending to be Satoshi Nakamoto in this thread. So, ask your questions to SN or reply as SN, and users of the forum should reply in either capacity. Hopefully the forum will pretend that you are SN, which may lead to fun conversations or brutal assaults. I'm curious what happens when multiple Satoshi's are in the same room together! Perhaps the greatest geniuses the world will ever know? Who knows?!

---

To distinguish you from passerbys, please denote whether you are pretending to be SN somehow, like:

A: <--- use this at the start
or
-- SN <--- use this at the end

or something else, but make it obvious that you are a SN (for the purposes of this thread).

---

I'll start with the questions, and hope that some people chime in pretending to be SN and answer. Let's start with a soft-ball:

Q: Satoshi, what do you think of the lightning network? What do you think is next?
I HATE TABLES I HATE TABLES I HA(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ TABLES I HATE TABLES I HATE TABLES

A: The lightening Network is a successful project and we are working on the next phase of engaging the effective use of the Metaverse, although we are still on the developmental stage, more efforts were in place to see that this come to a reality in the nearest future.

That sounds like two opposites? How can there be a change of on-chain capacity without changing constants in code or reducing security? I actually just don't understand what this is getting at here, but would like an explanation.

You'll have to ask who wrote it for an explanation, and since he signed a bunch of BTC addresses from 2009, maybe it's Satoshi - it seemed appropriate to me in answer to your question. It is logical that Bitcoin must be developed and upgraded, but the emphasis is on the fact that it must retain its essence, that is, there should not be some radical changes like what people who did some of their visions of Bitcoin did. All of this is written in the context of proving that CW (Faketoshi) is not Satoshi.

I like your response now, and I agree with that. Maybe you are Satoshi after all!

It's difficult to disagree with that person - signing so many old keys at once and so long after 2009 is quite the feat! That person has very good chances of being Satoshi.

(I should have checked but thought you were referencing one of the other post 2011 Satoshi things, many of which I question heavily.)

I hope you're kidding, but just in case, I'm not Satoshi Wink

The chances are always there, but it could be any of the early miners, and we know there were many more than Satoshi and Hal Finney during 2009. See more in this thread.

(I should have checked but thought you were referencing one of the other post 2011 Satoshi things, many of which I question heavily.)

I got lost here because I don't understand what post you're talking about - Satoshi was last active on December 13, 2010, and I wasn't a member of the forum back in 2011.

Good to hear Satoshi. What is the most exciting application of Metaverse?

Q: Do you think the Metaverse will help or harm privacy or personal freedoms? Is it something we should be worried about?

Quote
The Metaverse is a blend of multiple components of technology counting, virtual reality, and augmented reality and video wherein the people exist in the bounds of a digital universe. The Metaverse is an embodied internet that enables people around the world to meet by creating an avatar that can be personalized and make them feel more non-fictional than a normal video call. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/promoted/522507-all-that-you-should-know-about-the-metaverse.html

A: From the explanation above, you could see that metaverse is really targeted on improving better experience of service, many companies or organizations have been working tirelessly to bringing this into reality but we are not just working on the development of metaverse, we are also putting in consideration the security and privacy of individual in a well secured and guaranteed manner, this could not be jeopardize at any means because this metaverse we are working on is solely going to be a bitcoin metaverse network at large and we are not affiliating with any third party agencies or organizations.

We are using this through the blockchain technology and it developed systems to build a metaverse that will make bitcoin in its entirety look more simple, real and suitable and having access to buying and selling will be done on a more convenient platform that look real. we could achieve this using an   augmented or virtual reality. and users data cannot be compromised using this service and we are working to put in place the improvement procedure as against data leakage, hacks and security and privacy measures.

You would make a good Satoshi though. Smiley

Finney and Satoshi said there were more connections during that first week, but also complicated by zombie connections, lol.

Hmm, trying to hide your Satoshiness now, eh?  Wink Wink  Satoshi's last provable email was in early 2011. There have been several emails supposedly coming from SN since then, like in 2015 after a major hack of this forum, which this -> references: https://i.imgur.com/ozQF2of.jpg

lets play a game

Q: Satoshi, what do you think of the lightning network? What do you think is next?
it's a niche service network for certain use-case. but not all use-cases.. also not to be seen as the replacement for bitcoin or be promoted as bitcoin2.0.
its a separate network thats a bridge for many coins. its not a feature/unique for just bitcoin and not serving just bitcoin, so should not be treated as a "bitcoin" thing. but a "crypto" thing

back before inventing bitcoin(blockchains), other developers 'the cypherpunks' were running into many many problems with accounting and auditing value. and having problems making a financial system that could not be broken..  and any network that does not have a network wide audit system like a blockchain does. is going to fall into old problems. LN is not a futuristic feature or new innovation, its actually backwards and old.
even after 5 years its not really a working system, its glitchy and buggy and even the devs have lost value when using it.
bitcoin however worked right from the start and adopted alot of people within a couple years. LN has failed to meet bitcoin standards after 5 years. use it at your own risk and learn its risk. it is not bitcoin and not as secure as bitcoin. it might have some niche use-cases, but its not a solution and be very risk aware when using it.

Q: Do you think the Metaverse will help or harm privacy or personal freedoms? Is it something we should be worried about?
metaverse is just a virtual shopping mall. much like an old bitcoin game 'dragon's tale' had a virtual character you can move around a landscape and buy things/gamble on things within the landscape.
i am just a little dismayed that no one tried to take the dragon's tale platform and expand it into a more feature rich virtual landscape that offered retail propositions.
metaverse is however preferring to use ethereum based tokens/currencies, which could leave bitcoin behind and not seen as the 'main' crypto

Q: Why did you disappear in 2011? What have you done for the past decade?
many people had good idea's of moving bitcoin forward, many people were finding bugs and my CODING/bug fixing involvement was not needed daily. however people were demanding me POLITICALLY to make the ultimate decisions of what should and shouldnt be added, making me a central point. i felt that people could make up their own minds and do their own edits and upgrades without me, as that was the point of bitcoin. so i steeped back

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Satoshi gets snarky! I enjoyed reading those responses though.

The last paragraph is very believable. I can't imagine the stress of trying to do something like this, open-source, and maintain leadership on a project intended to not have a leader. Being anonymous must not have helped, and I'm sure you had to make a choice: step out and become that leader, in which case everything depends on you regardless of your personal circumstances, or take a step back and see whether the community can survive and thrive -- which it did.

Bold move, and it paid off, amazingly. So, good job. I'm sure I'll think up another question for you later, but maybe others have questions for you too.

A: Base on research, things that are not seen tend to last than things that are seen, I've come to understand that human value that are uncommon than what they get familiar or used to, come to think of gold, the more  it remains uncommon helps along way in retaining it value, well this is from life perspective.

In relation to bitcoin, it is anonymous and the source behind it should also remain anonymous in other to retain its value and the "brain" behind  it.
Lastly, we talk about trust, we could not confined such in government but you and i can have that in bitcoin while dealing with financial economy.

Q: Why did you disappear in 2011? What have you done for the past decade?

SN: I was not needed anymore. Code was created and there was enough support from many other coders to improve the original code as well as big enough understanding that the key aspects of Bitcoin should not be changed as they are fine as they are.
I am now in better place. Not feeling the pain anymore.

Q: Satoshi, what do you think of the lightning network? What do you think is next?

SN : sorry lightning is not something I want to think about. I am now more focused on things outside of blockchain. a completely new future transaction. like bitcoin was something new in its time. so it's time to think about something newer that isn't tied to blockchain. it's a matter of mind power combined with future technology and transacting with the mind is considered impossible for most people. have you thought up here?
