Grab a hardware wallet. Either a Ledger[1] or a Trezor[2].

Read about wallets:

Hardware wallets are best options for you like Trezor or Ledger or if you don't want to spend money on buying these devices you can have other non custodial wallet like Electrum which do not store your keys and funds are safe. The next step is you are well aware of the fact that don't share your seeds or save them on any online storage or even on your mobile devices which could lead to security compromised and funds can be lost forever.

I'd go for Trezor's most recent hardware wallet. Because I'm now having an OLED screen issue with the Ledger Nano S that I purchased less than a year ago; the screen is steadily fading/dimming, making it impossible to see what is being displayed. You must use your phone camera to view it clearly, which is inconvenient while inputting your pin number or signing a transaction.

I'm not sure if this issue actually exists in Trezor, however there are a lot of technical issues with Ledger products these days.

Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?
For sure a hardware wallet are the one that the most safe as nobody will ever have an access into your bitcoin unless they have the hardware itself. many will suggest trezor as they are one of the biggest bitcoin wallet provider indeed , so do i. but if you ask me other places like a software wallet like coinbase , mycelium and blockchain.com and the other giant bitcoin wallet company. i'd choose mycelium myself.

yeah i knew it that nothing is safe , especially whenyou connected to internet , a lot of things could happened in bad ways. yeah online wallet never be a recommendation but if you had to use it , then mycelium is my pick

Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?

Best bitcoin only supported wallets
 Wasabi wallet
electrum wallet

If you are also after a multi coin supported crypto wallet i will recommend Metamask: https://metamask.io/

Note:
If you're interested in holding or investing your coins for longer then i will advise you to make use of an open source hardware wallets https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288971.0

you can further read on choosing a bitcoin wallet here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

It's not enough to store them on hardware wallets.

Just saw this news earlier - Pinellas Park cybersecurity expert stole over $500K from client, police say

Apparently, the guy saw his client's Trezor and the password in the same area while setting up a security system. I know it sounds stupid but many (or some) of us could easily commit this mistake since we tend to become complacent in our own homes. So needless to say, be more careful where you put your wallets and PW. Any of your friends/neighbors could come into your house and steal them from you.

I have never used any hardware wallet before all i does is either storing my BTC on Blockchain or Trustapp most at times store in CEX wallet but later withdraw out to trust. i would love to take a look at the hardware wallet and how it's.

Really nothing will be 100% secure, your bitcoin's safety will depend on how you take care of it. But first, you should choose good quality products so that the place to store is using a hardware wallet instead of a software wallet.

Personally, I would recommend the Trezor hardware wallet as I'm using it to store most of my Bitcoin, plus the Ledger is also a hardware wallet that's well worth using.

Probably a rare product QA issue, as I've own Ledger devices since 2016/2017 and I've never had a single problem with the screen or the device in general besides some minor issues with Ledger Live software.

Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?

I found something perfect for you, but only if you have no problem handing over your BTC to someone else for safekeeping. I am more for the "my keys, my coins" approach, which is the only correct way - if a nuclear war breaks out, it doesn’t matter where the BTCs are, in the underground bunker, or in the hardware wallet.

The majority are recommending a hardware wallet...
Well, I guess you already have the answer OP. But the question is if you buy hardware that is worth enough to store the amount of your Bitcoin? What I mean is that, if you have 5 BTC at least, probably you need it but if you only have 1BTC, I suggest using online wallets like electrum wallet.

For the many years that I've used Electrum wallet, never I experience being hacked, I think it was a safe wallet and it was free. Well, of course, security also matters in how you manage your keys.

You can try using hardware wallets such as Trezor to keep your accounts safe from hacking. Just make sure to buy from a legitimate store so that you will be assured that your device isn't tampered. I've seen cases that people bought from an unreputable reseller and then end up getting his account's asset all transferred to an unknown receiver in a snap. While it is safe to store accounts in a hardware wallet, we still have to make sure that it is clean from all sorts of tactics.

You can also try Electrum which I also use to store my btc. For the years I've been using this, I haven't experience any trouble such as phishing or scamming. But still be wary because sometimes it's human error which brings unfrotunate events. Do not ever share your password and seedphrase to anyone. Even if you trust a friend so much, just don't. For additional security and assurance, you can also write down your seedphrase and password to a private notebook and store it in a safe place such as vault to avoid losing it which could result to being not able to open your account in the future.

Hardware wallet as others has said. Trezor/Ledger is the most famous go-to's afaik, just make sure that you still ensure secure practices when storing your hardware wallets. Just because it's a hardware wallet doesn't mean that there's no way for people to still steal it. Paper wallets would be a cheaper type option of hardware wallets. There's also the option of using wallets like Electrum or Metamask but that would be an option if you can't or don't want to use hardware wallets. Lastly, just stay away from any type of custodial wallet.

Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?

Everybody here mentioned hardware wallets and I second that, but you mentioned you want to store your bitcoins, as in plural, and maybe with that, you could look into having multiple wallets to spread out the coins. I would say that would offer much more security from technical failures, losing your wallet, and if by any chance something does happen to it, at least not everything is lost. I would definitely look into that if I was handling more bitcoins.

Rule number one is that you don't store bitcoin in any centralized exchanges, and use some open source non-custodial wallets.

If you don't want to spend money purchasing hardware wallets like Trezor, than use some old offline computer laptop, or old smartphone with Electrum wallet.

Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?

You may need to start with understanding that any wallet you get, it will not hold your coins; the coins will never leave the network/blockchain.
A wallet's main job is to help you sign transactions, the only way to spend coins.
So what you have to safely hold is the keys or wallet seed. Not bitcoins.

This is important because it doesn't matter you lose your wallet, as long as you kept the seed safely.
And this is important because no matter how safe your wallet is; if somebody else got the seed (if you didn't store it right) he will steal your coins without touching your wallet.

Now, to the question: since you lack the knowledge, I also recommend you spend some money and get a hardware wallet. I also recommend you take extra care and:
* generate a new seed after you receive the hardware wallet
* verify the seed (reset the hardware wallet and check if you get the same addresses)
* make offline backups of the seed and keep them safely in different locations, far from each other.

Free method.
Download Electrum, create a multi sig address. At least 2/3. Google and search how to create a multi sig address. Keep the seed details for every cosigner in separate and safe places. Delete the wallet. You can always restore the wallet using the seeds. A multi sig wallet is safer than a regular wallet since you chances of exposing all seeds are lesser than the seed words of a regular wallet.

Paid and easier method.
Buy a hardware wallet.

The safest place where you can store your bitcoins in there is definitely in your personal wallet, for some people the leave-in having a hardware wallet and storing bitcoins in some hardware wallet such as Trezor is properly the safest place where you can store your bitcoins but other than this since you will have to spend some money buy a wallet if you want you to have a safe wallet without of spending a penny just store your bitcoins in some personal wallet where you can have access to your private keys and recovery seeds.
