If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.

Over 1,000 scientists from 25 countries took part in the Scientist Rebellion's demonstrations over a week ago.

How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?

Bitcoin does not react to any piece of news out there.

Bitcoin has been roped into the climate change topic, with discussions about how mining affets the environment, but this however does not mean any discussion on climate change would have an effect on the market price of Bitcoin.

Maybe if people started to feel the consequences, after they realize that the world we are living in is hurting and the effects would cost us our health. They say that it we cannot bring back the damage that will be inflicted on us. The effects are irreversible and we only can avoid it now if we take heed to this call. The limit is not decades anymore, they say it is less than 2 years, and that is way too close. I guess this geopolitics and other causes of global warming is the roots, with it's evil leaders. Not only the price of Bitcoin will go down but the whole crypto market will fall if things gets worst.

It's not bad if you can provide us with a link to that, and to clear your doubts about if the bitcoin activities contribute harm to the environment or not, we have different threads that have talked about it already and i think you should get more answers to that on: A simple proposal for an environmental-friendly regulation for Bitcoin mining and also read on this: Re: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument. these will gives more insight on the approach towards the environmental impact of bitcoin and there you will discover how bitcoin is solving part of the problems instead of constituting to it.

How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?

Environmental challenges does not have any impact of the bitcoin price since the mining of bitcoin in not stereotype to a particular or specific location, hash rate is distributed across the globe.

Bitcoin seems quite volatile for a few days. So I don't think it's because of environmental facts at all. Also, I am not expecting any effect on Bitcoin for scientists thought. We have been encountering few bad news about Bitcoin energy burn which is a threat to the environment according to haters. But it doesn't have much effect on Bitcoin. So the current news like the previous, has no effect on the Bitcoin prices as well.

Highly doubt if there is any correlation between the bitcoin prices and climate change out there. I mean poor bitcoin is really making its happy days on the blockchain and miners around the world making sure it runs smoothly. Though there are on going concerns about miners using overpower to mine and polluting the nature I believe it is just bluff and nothing much. That can't really change the prices of bitcoin.

I mean its not like that earth has not seen the worst ever, dinosaurs gone, apocalypse event came in, ice age came in but Mother Nature always takes over no matter what. Humans are disturbing it I agree, but I am sure with the current we have more than 1000+ years of green earth.

I don't expect that the protest on the environmental changes will affect the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin is moved by things that has to do with economy, finance, adoption and few more but not the environmental changes. While investing what is concern is the trend and the financial news on bitcoin or altcoins.

well, maybe we need to look at this from a longterm perspective. It does affect crypto as enviromental consequences of mining need to be adressed if crypto wants to take a step towards mass adoption. So while it might not affect the imidiate market, it's something that will have to be figured out. If not than I doubt mass adoption can be achived.

I've heard of this news but I don't think that there's ever a connection between bitcoin with this news. There's little to no impact at all with that news of the arrest of scientists.
It's related to the environment and I think that you're thinking about mining since it's the one that's related to the environment. But, the market itself is separated and there's really no impact that we have seen or maybe someone will see that the market has plummeted due to it.

In my own observation, Climate change will affect bitcoin trading and investment. If climate change affect the economy of a state, it will also affect the trading of bitcoin. Example. You want to trade or you trading and suddenly the weather became changed it atmosphere, that is no internet access at that time. What do you think in the market? Climate change affect human mind and activities. If your mind is not at peace you can trade or do anything both in bitcoin and others.

Arrest scientists in the world or over 25 Countries will affect Bitcoin as well. We are talking about technology and bitcoin uses technology to mine, and trade. So if those device that are use to mine and trade bitcoin are not available, it will affect bitcoin. The consequences of climate change will go around everywhere and it will affect everywhere.

Not every single piece of news is going to have an effect in this market, now while lately there has been a lot of mentions from people external to this market about the supposed danger to the environment that bitcoin represents, the majority of the people that actually know how bitcoin works and that are part of this market know they are lying about the energy consumption and the sources from which bitcoin miners make their equipment work, so it is natural such a news had no impact at all.

I personally care on my own little things, maybe if we really care about our environment it should start from ourselves.

I don't think this kind of news affects Bitcoin, the price are still the same despite of this issues this will only matter if that catastrophe started already but since people are still confident that we can still address this issues in time, they are still not on a panic state and the Bitcoin market remains stable.

To be honest I actually didn't bother to look up for a news like this as I focus on other things but for seeing those scientist protesting about possible huge danger that may come if we keep ignoring the environment I do some little acts like now. And people should put more bigger weights about what they are fighting for right now because if people will keep ignoring on what they are fighting for for sure in future we will face the consequences on what we do and worse same like dinosaur human race will extinct to.

I haven't heard of it. But I don't think it will in any way affect the market. Quite frankly, a single institutional investor could shake the market more than a thousand scientists.

The concern about the environment is a broad topic of discussion. It doesn't specifically point at Bitcoin as the number one culprit of climate change. Anybody who points that blaming finger on Bitcoin is obviously a bitter critic who cannot be objective on the issue.

But I do not dismiss the urgent issue of climate change. It has to be addressed. Lifestyle should adjust. Solutions have to be institutionalized.

we are too naive to reject the use of fossil energy,,, because the process of transitioning from fossil energy to renewable energy cannot be instantaneous ... there are many considerations that must be considered ... instead of protesting the use of fossil energy, scientists should come up with a solution to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen more quickly

I noticed that lately in the past 3-4 years people are more aware of climate change. In many places due to climatic changes there have been very drastic weather. And it’s these events that lead people to finally take notice.

This is also why car companies are finally stopping the development of internal combustion engines. They still build them now but most are stopping new research for new engines in the next decade or so. Basically car companies and governments want to get rid of our reliance on gas and oil.

How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?

So several questions for you.

First are you aware of how much lying goes on in main stream media?  If you are then why do you believe them?  Did you know that co2 atmospheric content has been flat for over 10 years at least. While co2 output hasn't?

Did they provide a list or just "say" 1000000 bazillion people said such and such.

Are you Aware that co2 Isn't the primary greenhouse gas? Its Not Even Close to second place as a greenhouse gas.   Water vapor is primary is both Volume and Power taking 65-85% of all green house gasses combined.  Co2 is down in the .003%   No I am not kidding its so low as to be laughable.

Even NASA admits to water vapor being primary https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/global-maps/MYDAL2_M_SKY_WV  And theres lots of crank sites which will tell you im right and just as many crank sites telling me I'm wrong.   The take away here is NASA Does say I'm right =>

Are you aware that co2 is Plant food?  Plants kinda need it and without plants and plankton we are fucked.  More co2 = More plants.(there is a upper limit here but we are nowhere near it)   This is already occurring in the Sahara as it has shrunk 14% in the last 25 years.

Are you aware that we now use 1/3 the farming area we did 100 years ago and the yields are higher?

I SERIOUSLY encourage you to actually do some reading outside the everything is doomed websites and for the love of Gawd stop watching mainstream media its actively brain damaging. (research hypnosis styles)  The most common way is simply to repeat the same thing over and over.  Works for both lies and truth.  Mostly used for lies though. Truth tends not to need it being truth and all.

Bitcoin is moved by things that has to do with economy, finance, adoption and few more but not the environmental changes. While investing what is concern is the trend and the financial news on bitcoin or altcoins.

It won't affect the price of Bitcoin because their protest isn't against Bitcoin mining but more on the idea of ending the fossil fuel industry and changing to renewables.

Kalmus has written several opinion pieces in the Guardian about climate change, calling for the end of the fossil fuel industry and a switch to renewables.

“It’s now the eleventh hour and I feel terrified for my kids, and terrified for humanity,” he writes in a Guardian op-ed. “I feel deep grief over the loss of forests and corals and diminishing biodiversity. But I’ll keep fighting as hard as I can for this Earth, no matter how bad it gets, because it can always get worse. And it will continue to get worse until we end the fossil fuel industry and the exponential quest for ever more profit at the expense of everything else.”

Other malicious organizations are just twisting facts and pointing finger at Bitcoin mining as one of the major reasons of this global warming which we all know is a big bull****.

If the demonstration gets a response from the government to issue a new regulation, then I think it will have an impact on bitcoin, especially if it doesn't favor the development of bitcoin. but until now it seems that battery production will increase in order to develop electric cars that are more environmentally friendly, and that means reducing the dangers of pollution and so on. Of course, apart from the higher level of awareness, this is very prospective when viewed from a business perspective

In terms of what I'm seeing and what's happened, environmental issues don't have a big impact and serious effect. We all know the environment is becoming more and more polluted from water, air, and many other things around us, and my funny way of saying this is that even human consciousness is being polluted. Ways to restore habitats have also been recognized and implemented for a long time, but it seems that it is still not enough. Perhaps the natural problems of extreme climate change will affect us directly in the future. It is enough for people to think positively to protect the environment.
