I heard on the news that a group of scientists who really cares about the environment started protesting about the current situation, days ago. But the point about it is there are not any special relations between the bitcoin and the environment, while during the last years and recently I see many people and articles targeting bitcoin energy consumption for the current situation of the economy, while I see no reactions of the market and bitcoin price about it.

Does anyone care about the environment? Everyone's mouths are full of stories about environmental protection, but in practice very little seems to be done to protect and save what we have not yet destroyed. As much as we can point the finger at politicians and powerful corporations as the biggest culprits in the whole story, the greatest responsibility lies with ordinary people who have embraced a way of life that is more than evidently disastrous for our planet. The average person drives a lot in a car running on fossil fuels, does not save electricity and drinking water, throws away very large amounts of healthy food and does not sort waste. Therefore, change must come from small people, who can try to choose people who think similarly in elections. The key thing is to do it as soon as possible, because according to some scientists, we have already crossed a point of no return, or we are very close to it.

If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.
Over 1,000 scientists from 25 countries took part in the Scientist Rebellion's demonstrations over a week ago.
How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?
Hi ! It's definitely a big deal concerned with Bitcoins and the environment perse. One have to understand the fact that, bitcoins is notorious for using high amount of electricity concerned with mining and there are very few miners who are using renewable sources of energy as well, which does mean that the green energy alternative for mining is very slow as well. One have to understand that these things are extremely personal therefore one have to take their own steps to make sure they are helping the environment while keeping the community intact. The government's ideas about bitcoins concern with the pollution is banning it directly but I do not think how this can be any more reasonable than switching to better sources, by implementing finer laws to make sure that it can be *improved*. But we will still wait for many years to come for such an opportunity but till then if you are a miner, you know what to do.

There is no point in waging war on links, or telling you that I have heard and seen such things in a documentary, there are always two sides trying to prove them right. In addition to all the information, I rely on my personal experience when it comes to climate and changes in nature. However you want to set the story, there is no doubt that it is the man who changes things around him, and it is also unquestionable that it works to the detriment of the planet. If your air is clean, the water is healthy to drink and you have organically grown food, and you also live in an organized country, then you can be considered lucky.

Well I don't think Bitcoin mining has much effects on the climate compared to other source of hazard to the climate. The major cause of climate change is from industries and motor vehicles that produce daily effects against our climate. Bitcoin is exceptional here cause the effect is lesser than the one different house produces. Although their is need to reduce this effect on our climate.

These kind of fundamentals or news doesnt really majorly affect bitcoin market or overall crypto market thats why its not really something much needed for you to mind on about external events and things because this would only boggle up your mind on what are the next step that you would really be doing on but somewhat if you do see that it is something significant then go ahead but basing up with real experience then most of the time bitcoin doesnt really react with these kind of sentiments thats why i do mostly ignore it.

Its very frustrating to see the situation of our environment right now but as a normal we can’t do anything about it aside from doing our little contribution. Those scientist knows the reality and the government should listen to then, better to talk about this in the right forum. Bitcoin is not affected by this, though eventually people will panic if they see big changes on the environment, for now we can’t see the effect on this one in cryptomarket.

My opinion as a physicist:
Look, I understand when people say "I do not trust science". I realize that most people do not spend 10+ years studying some niche subject after leaving high school. To them I say please understand that you do not comprehend how big the problem actually is. And your opinion about a certain subject after a few hours of google searching is not worth 1/1 million'th of the opinion of someone who has made it his life's work to study that subject.
When a climate scientist talks, be quiet and we listen carefully. You know what climate crisis is? Its a fight for survival. A fight to keep the planet sustaining life a little longer. Everything in this world, all of nature, is in a very delicate balance between life and death. Its a miracle that this planet can even sustain life.
Even the smallest change can end life on earth. For example, no ozone layer to shield from radiation? Without ozone sucking up the sun's more dangerous radiation, guess who gets to soak up all the radiation instead? YOU. A deadly sunburn. Nuclear apocalypse would have the same end result with the only difference being the source of deadly radiation. But we have finally gotten a grip on the ozone depletion problem before the problem became irreversable and now the Ozone Layer is healing. Great job, guys. Apocalypse averted.
But there are more problems and other dangers! But people are more concerned about short term quality of life for themselves. They don't care about prolonging life beyond their own.
As I understand it, if the destruction of the environment progresses to the tipping point (which is soon) then the damage will become permanent. The human race will be headed towards a certain dead end and our planet becomes lifeless like mars. I understand the very thought of the extinction apocalypse is so terrifying that people block out the bad thoughts and rather say "we still have x amount of years left to solve the problem."
But we have come to the point where we do not have time left to make a choice. A choice between continued life or a dead planet. There is no Planet B. Earth is all we got.
We need to reverse the damage we have done to our planet and BOYCOTT BIG OIL AND INVEST IN GREEN TECH RIGHT NOW. Or the future is screwed. We all return to dust.
And who knows, green tech might make you a pretty profit.

Saving the environment is very important for the world. But this does not affect the price of bitcoin. But the mining process consumes a lot of energy. And this is where bitcoin and ecology can come into contact. I don't see any other dependency. The mining process produces a large amount of used equipment, carbon dioxide and toxic metals in the air.

It would help if people knew what things they might do to accomplish positive change in the world. Steps they can take to reduce reliance on russian gas and help to create a better and healthier planet.
7 billion people across the world is a considerable amount of man power. If we're to improve circumstances, it makes sense to target that majority demographic. Rather than exclusively relying upon less than 1% of the population that tends to be proactively support climate change goals.
There are stories about one african man who grew hundreds of acres of forest in africa to address climate change. And that was only 1 man. Imagine what could be achieved if all 7 billion people in the world contributed.
I'll try to do my part to reduce greenhouse emissions and plant trees to absorb carbon and hope everyone else can find it in themselves to do a little that helps make things better.

I have to correct you because you are short by just under 1 billion people, because according to data for April 2022, there are about 7.9 billion people in the world. That number will continue to increase, so there are some assumptions that around 2050 there will be about 10 billion people in the world. There are stories about one african man who grew hundreds of acres of forest in africa to address climate change. And that was only 1 man. Imagine what could be achieved if all 7 billion people in the world contributed.
I know this story, a man named Tony Rinaudo has planted about 240 million trees in dozens of countries. Its activities in Nigeria have made it possible to produce food to feed as many as 2.5 million people more than was the case before. The problem is that forests around the world are being destroyed at the rate of 27 football stadiums every minute, which is an incredible 18.7 acres every year - and that's something that can't be fixed just like that. I'll try to do my part to reduce greenhouse emissions and plant trees to absorb carbon and hope everyone else can find it in themselves to do a little that helps make things better.
As I have already written, every human being should contribute to how he or she treats nature, because a lot of the little things we all do together can make the world a better place.

I'm still surprised, that bitcoin is still associated with environmental damage lol... the gas emissions released due to bitcoin mining do not have a big impact when compared to the emissions produced by factories and vehicles. FUD about bitcoin is one of the destroyers of the environment is spread by people who hate bitcoin, I will no longer believe environmental issues involving bitcoin will affect its price because bitcoin has not been proven to cause that.

I care about it a lot, so much so that I have been trying to get our apartment to agree to have solar panels at the roofs and at the top of the balconies as well. Do you know how tiny that would be compared to the energy that we are spending in the world every single day? It would not help one second of worlds energy, much lesser probably. However, each and every single second we could save, would mean the betterment of the world. And this is why I know enough that spending energy is not the problem, sure lesser would be better but the idea is to turn into renewable energy, not cutting energy usage.

I care about the global economy more than I do the environment, and so does India and China. Both are the top two polluters in the world with large populations that are still developing. Sacrificing economic growth for the negligible reduction in the total increase of global temperatures isn't a good trade considering global temperatures have fluctuated for thousands of years. If the proposition of having increased food prices and energy prices in order to save a few habitats or costal regions instead of adapting, as humans have always done throughout existence, sounds good to you, then I'd argue that you should at least provide demonstrable figures of the human effect on climate change.
I've yet to see anything conclusive, the projections keep changing to fuel the hysteria.

I have the perception the environment isn't a decisive factor for crypto market, because there is no valid correlation between crypto and environment. And if there was, it wouldn't influence anyway, since investors who really make the difference with their huge funds aren't worried about environmental issues, global warming theory, sustainable/autonomous way of life. As it is well known, there is a strong lobby from private sector who works in partnership with governments to make green technologies hard and expensive to be adopted by average citizens and that is why most of us don't have access to such products and services.
It would be great if I could have an electric car and my house fully working through solar system, but it just doesn't fit my budget. Then I conclude I shouldn't be concerned about it, because it's out of my control.

What happens is that by nature people are very reluctant to change and will only accept to do so under the most extreme circumstances, the current economic model is based on consumerism in which people buy something and then they get rid of it a few years down the line even if the product is still functional, in other cases the products are specifically built to not last so you have to replace them over and over again, with both options producing additional waste, if things were made to last then the resources we use will go down, but such a change will never be accepted until we had no other choice.

what we can do is contribute on our own little ways because if we can't influence other people, i guess, doing your job as a human on this earth would be more than enough. we can't expect others to take care of their environment but you yourself can do the job. who knows, if somebody is seeing you what you are doing, they will get inspiration from you - whether it is just planting in your garden, recycling or throwing the trash properly.

Of course, I care about the environment, I like to plant trees because by planting a lot of trees, the world becomes cool and many animals can live in the trees such as birds, bats and so on, if our environment is damaged then we will be affected, and the most thing It's easy for us to get floods and hot air.
