This may be due to many factors, but my thinking is that when people with lots of bitcoins start selling at those high prices, the price drops just like any other market.
and unprofessional and weak investors see this drop and start panic selling thinking that it's all over or falling deeper which only causes the price to drop more and causes more people to sell. This leads to an unavoidable decline and is a reality that will not go away including FUD.

There has been a lot of bad news lately for the world of cryptocurrency and in a world of high energy prices, anything that uses a lot of energy (like mining) is going to draw potentially unwarranted attention. There is also the fact that Bitcoin often moves in tandem with the world economy which has taken a bit of a dip recently with the war and covid still lingering around. It can take a rather long time to firm up a solid baseline and we should be encouraged rather than disheartened that Bitcoin is still 2/3 of the way to the highest price it ever made. It sucks if you bought in near the peak, but you really should only spend money on investments that you can afford to lose or be prepared to wait a long time (10+ years) for the rewards.

To tell you the truth, I don't see any clear negative news or signals from other financial markets. My suspicion is that these down trend could be caused by two things that come together. Inflation following the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
Both of these reasons seem obvious, but I'm surprised it's all happening so slowly. Rather, I expected one quick drop in prices. Although it may still come.

There are too many factors to consider and might be the reason for this decline but in fact, the Bitcoin price recovered again and back to the $40k price range.  In general, the reason could be, that there are too many sellers than the buyers, the demand and supply will always matter to the Bitcoin price.

You're overthinking it and you might forget that no one control Bitcoin or the centralized organization behind it so I don't think there's self-destruction.

Beginning of the destruction? How many times bitcoin has been destroyed? Why do people like you always say that bitcoin is going to be destroyed when the price starts to drop? It's not something new. The market is very volatile. People sell their coins to keep their profit. The price drops, people start buying the price goes up. The rise, fall and recovery of the price is a very normal thing. you clearly don't know the market of bitcoin , because it is not 63k instead almost 69k is what bitcoin reached last year.

Just set the interval to 1 day and you can see that for the past 4-5 months there has been no "decline" whatsoever. Price has been going up and down in pretty much the same range (from $35k to $45k). Nothing needs to cause it, this is what accumulation phases in bitcoin have always looked like.

If I would give a fair opinion, I would say bitcoin is not gon go below 35k anymore. if it does, 33k would be the farthest although I think it'll be pretty hard to reach that since as soon as the price goes near that price point, miners would have to do something along with the whales. There are just too much people involved in bitcoin now(big and small) that it would be easier to go higher than lower. Basically, people were cashing out their holdings.
News and analysis doesn't affect Bitcoin's price unless people would believe it. Since, cryptocurrency is a highly speculative market, then most probably some people who sold their Btc's today have found something that made them decide to sell their asset.

The beauty of Bitcoin is that its price always shoots up  more than it falls down and makes new ATH. This historical fact has been proved again and again so long term Investors should never worry much about its volatility. The current bear market is due to FED statement of multiple  interest rate increase during the year but I am optimistic it will be absorbed by the market and Bitcoin will restart its upward journey as technically current price is sitting around 600 DMA and breakout is likely to happen any time soon.

This quonote the model of demand and supply we were taught in highschool, whereby when there is shortage in supply, there will be an increase in demand and as a result this may lead to inflation (but here we can assume inflation to be volatility in price) and same applies in the opposite as well, now people have the opportunity to make profits, place a buy, and then the economy boost back to normal or even beyond.

 If you're a trader, customers wouldn't patronize you unless they have a demand on what you sell and if you don't sell you can't make profit, now applies this the other way round and see what you stand to benefit, and same is the model of bitcoin price and volatility which does not have anything to depreciate it value, else nobody will want to bid for bitcoin whenever it runs deep.

Bitcoin has been on the decline since after its ATH on the 10th Nov. 2021 and you can see this clearly not by viewing the minute's chats but by the Daily Bitcoin chart and the market has a natural movement to correct after some momentous upward movement before its ATH even though we can say there was some other news that impacted the market but overall, it is natural for the market to correct.

When you say 'decline in value', you mean FIAT (esp. USD), right? Because Bitcoins value is way more than that of some random inflationary currency.

The more the demand for an asset against supply, the higher the valuation which is reflected on the market price
Conversely, the more the supply against demand, the lower the price.

There are then secondary factors that influence demand and supply, these includes;

• Government policies,
• FUD,
• FOMO,
• Bitcoin Halving
• Technical aspect etc.

These factors can influence demand and supply positively or negatively, for example, if the U.S. government announced that they will accept Bitcoin as a legal tender, that would change the sentiment around it and possibly cause a increase in demand, and price. Or if a technical vulnerability is discovered, demand would drop and s would the price.
The constant price changes you see on coin tracking websites is an average of the most recent trade prices which were made on different exchanges.

It is not an indication of how "strong" or "powerful" something is (like we say, size does not matter but technique does )

If someone is selling bitcoin, it will go down, but does that mean that bitcoin is bad? It was the trader's choice to exit. Now why might want to exit may sound like something to get concerned about, but again there might be personal reasons or having reached a target profit or just cycling the money to buy back.

The real reason behind a specific price movement is never going to get uncovered due to the vast number of traders and it is not necessary either.

I wouldn't say it's a big decline yet, bitcoins are still trading around the 40,000 USD level. In my opinion it's a sideways trend we see for a while now. As long as the world is facing all these big issues there won't be any big price jumps up or down. I had a look at the Chart in Binance, Today the lowest price reached $37,700. I think it's strong support, if later it's destroyed then I think there's some price support in the $36k,$34k and $32k area. And furthermore, if it is destroyed then the words of the former Bitmex Chief Executive will become a reality bitcoin will reach a price of $ 30k in June. It seems that this is not in line with the new news of the purchase of 1.1k BTC by etf canada. Maybe if you have the remaining funds collecting BTC step by step at a low price, gradually is a good idea.

Panic and dumping only happen to newbies and inexperienced people in the market, I think everyone needs to go through ups and downs to become more mature in the market. There is no better lesson or teaching than to experience it yourself.

The problem is that we just simply don't know the real reason behind Bitcoin's continuous pullback as there are so many factors behind it. In my opinion, call me crazy, but I think he withdrew "some" Bitcoin and DOGE in order to finally buy Twitter. If you have been following the price you would notice that the market has been moving from $38,000 to $42000. But you need to understand one thing, that Bitcoin follows the trend of supply and demand.
If the demand is more and the supply is less, then the price rises.
In this case the traders are selling their bitcoins, or you can say more amount of Bitcoins are sold.

I've suffered many market crashes, this period isn't that bad as others make it seem. I suffered the 2017 crash, Bitcoin lost more than 80% of its value within a few days, if I remember correctly, dropping from $20.000 to $5.000. It was absolutely disheartening and unfortunately, disappointed me so much that I quit Bitcoin and the forum altogether. Looking back to it, I wish I hadn't acted that way, because it would be a great opportunity to accumulate cheap Bitcoin.

We can't really avoid not to point out fingers with the current crisis that we are facing for it to be a possible reason on why crypto market is declining or into bearish mode although we can't really be that precisely tell if it's the reason or not because market had always been unpredictable since from the  start on which price could move randomly.

Despite of the conditions that we are in then it would be wise if we do such steps on taking advantages on getting opportunities to get in or make profits when the market starts to recover.

I think the biggest factor is inflation that occurs in many countries, when inflation occurs, many people need cash and the first alternative is to sell cryptocurrencies, in fact I often see many members complaining because the economic situation is still difficult due to the pandemic.

               I agree. The thing about this though is that the very fear of inflation can also be seen as one of the triggers for people to jump into crypto currencies in order to save themselves or their money from the on going inflation. And the fact that covid has also restricted most of the businessess and services that were usually the source of profits from investments or jobs just increases the urge to get into crypto. Oh well, at least the lockdowns are stopping and some places are already covid free. I just hope that everything recovers faster which can also let new money flow into this market.

I guess it's inevitable, even without reasoning the price will go down because that's how the market works, in a cycle and no one can stop it. However, when the war started and then we heard about the FED rate hike, the  price suddenly went on a downward spiral, so this might be some reason why the crypto market as a whole declines. And just like 2018's bear market, this is going to be very long for us, a crypto winter, gonna be cold and hard.

after researching the cause of the decline in bitcoin was influenced by high inflation so that many investors began to struggle with daily needs. they are forced to sell assets for very large needs and have to move crypto assets to cash assets so that they can be used anytime. in addition, it is likely to be affected by the occurrence of major complications where several countries have begun to threaten calls to other countries regarding war so that investors start to fear.
