Hi, I am going to get a PC used strictly for trading for dat trading/scalping.
Any recommendations would be great.
i know it should have at least 16GB ram.
but would love advice one Gpu, drive etc.
i know nothing about GPUs.
The only thing i want is to be able to plug multiple display in.

Any advise is welcome

Yep, don't look below 16GB ram

If you plan to use PC for trading only, no need to buy dedicated GPU as integrated one in the CPU will do the job. Good choice is AMD Ryzen 5600G which supports up to 4 displays, afaik. Regarding the drive, I can recommend Samsung 980 pro series as I got it few months ago and I am very satisfied with it. If you want something cheaper yet still good, go for Samsung 970 EVO.

i know it should have at least 16GB ram.
You can run everything just fine even with 8GB and RAM is not filled that easy, especially if you are using computer only for trading, but 16GB will be just fine.
More RAM is better but it's waste of money if you are not doing any intensive work all the time.
You will have to run wallets, apps and anything crypto related just fine.

but would love advice one Gpu, drive etc.
SSD drive is standard now, but go with Samsung brand with higher TBW.
You don't need any special GPU If you are not playing newest games, some heavy graphical work or using it for mining cryptocurrencies.
I would go with some Ryzen processor with integrated graphics, and you can always upgrade later if you want.

Wouldnt a big consideration be monitors?

Ideally or at least twin 24" curved LED monitors and obviously a graphics card to drive them.
You will want to be able to see full width charts and data below or as much data as possible
without having to scroll especially from side to side.

If you are going with 4 monitors like Rikafip suggests, you will need some sort of Monitor Arm,
I can vouch for the Humanscale M-Flex 8.1. All 4 arms are independently adjustable and dynamic
without the need to release levers to adjust them.

Well, mine is 8GB ram is fine and I use GTX 1070 with the dual monitor to see and monitor the movement of the price and to open multiple charts and tools.
You can also run a trading bot like Zenbot while opening multiple charts.

If you are looking for a setup with more than two monitors then you will need a graphics card that supports up to 4 monitors like a QUADRO graphics card.
Take note if you are going to use more than 2 monitors it will eat so much ram and CPU so you will need a better CPU and higher ram to use 4 monitors smoothly.

I am not into full-time trading but a few of my friends are into it and they say mid-range gaming card works well for trading computers. You can go either for AMD or NVIDIA graphic cards as they are highly recommended. If you want you can check this guide to get a brief idea on which one you should choose as per your requirement.

I didn't suggest 4 monitor setup, I just said that he can connect up to 4 monitors using that CPU that I recommended.

If you are looking for a setup with more than two monitors then you will need a graphics card that supports up to 4 monitors like a QUADRO graphics card.
Ryzen 5 5600G has 4 display controllers so all you really need is a displayport hub in order to connect them. Good alternatives to that Ryzen are recently released Intel i5 12400 and 12500 series that became very popular and offer very good value for money.

Take note if you are going to use more than 2 monitors it will eat so much ram and CPU so you will need a better CPU and higher ram to use 4 monitors smoothly.
True, that's why it doesn't make much sense to go for only 8 GB ram when building a new PC, better be safe than sorry. I mean, you can always add more memory buy why go through that hassle when RAM is cheap anyway.

Sizes are a matter of personal preference, as is the number of monitors. Even a budget graphics card will do, as long as there are enough video outputs to connect the required number of monitors. And also to support a suitable (recommended) screen resolution.

If it's just for trading, there's no need to be that many high specs. If you have a tight budget then at least 8 GB ram but don't stop there and upgrade it once you have a spare budget into 16 GB ram. And get a monitor that's sturdy, you might see some deals from an unknown brand and they're cheap. You better don't get any of those because I have seen a lot of those people who have availed those not branded monitors and they've suffered to see it go broke within just a few months.

I hope you already know about trading because your account is a newbie and you want to build a trading setup that costs a lot of money, are you a pro trader or a beginner? The trading set-up is for those who know how to trade very well, there is no point in having this desktop when you haven't understand every basics of trading.

Having a newbie profile rank in this forum does not mean that someone is a newbie in other aspects.

What if it was me who decided to create a new account to ask such a question? Cheesy
Would you consider me to be a newbie in trading too?

I believe if OP does not know about trading, he will ask.

I believe the monitors are even more important for the health of his backs and neck.

The problem is that good monitors may be as expensive as a computer.

Personally,  I think one big screen is enough.
Try to keep it high , aligned with your eyes.

I believe if OP does not know about trading, he will ask.
Your rank will never be judgemental factor in deciding your knowledge like someone outside this forum might be having different skills in various fields and we can't judge them on rank basis.

But what he was trying to say was that if @OP is completely new to trading then spending huge amount for setup would not be good in the learning phase only.He can undoubtedly understand the fundamentals and ask about it or maybe with this setup he learn all types of pattern fast.So whatever his choice is we are here to help.

Setup/configure multiple display could be annoying, i would recommend you to get ultrawide display instead with aspect ratio 32:9.
Yeah multiple plugs in could be problematic sometimes but if goes for this option then it's best for him like 32:9 is quite large like normal one is around 16:9 and with this he can get everything sorted.

Like the Samsung latest CGH90 with 32:9 monitor curved LED display he could enjoy the benefits he is looking for and then having monitor arms adjustment to it for stable alignment with eyes and body will be perfect match :

But he has not specified his budget so we can't specify more clearly until then.
