CoinXC.com, a currency exchange rate calculator, provides a free Image API service for forum sellers.  You can dynamically include current, or up to date, exchange rate quotes when pricing your goods and services on forums.

Here is an example (this is not a real sales listing):
Quote
X is for sale for $10000 OBO
I accept Bitcoin.  The current price in BTC is
Code:
[img]https://coinxc.com/convert/usd/btc/10000/img.png[/img]

Checkout https://coinxc.com/ for a list of all currencies that work with the system or https://coinxc.com/api to learn more about the API and various options available (colors).

How frequently is the exchange rate updated? The rate doesn't change when I refresh after a minute, unlike for instance CoinMarketCap, which changes all the time.
I've seen sites with similar services in the past, but it's always good to have more options.

That's a lot of decimals for dollars:

How frequently is the exchange rate updated?

The website says every 10 minutes (very very tiny at the bottom).

Quote from: https://coinxc.com
Leveraging API Data provided by CoinGecko and other sources, CoinXC is updated every 10 minutes with the latest currency exchange rate data.

This looks very good, but I would have few suggestions for improvement.
If it's possible I would like to add custom colors for images, in case when people like me are using dark theme that makes value of bitcoin harder to read.
Maybe option of inverted image would be simple solution, or adding some custom colors is more complex alternative.

It's great to see that you have many fiat currencies offered but it would be better to reduce decimals or make them optional.
If you think decimals for dollars are bad, check out Venezuelan Bolívar Fuerte or some other currencies with high inflation.
Other thing I would correct and remove is using SAT for some shitcoins (SoMee Advertising Token?!) instead for one of most used Bitcoin units.

Those are excellent suggestions.  I'm going to add a "decimal" flag in minute.

As for the rest, you can absolutely customize the colors:

Code:
[img]https://coinxc.com/convert/BTC/USD/1/img.png?background=black&color=white[/img]

Thank you for the feedback!  I'll update once the 'decimal' flag is in place.

Edit: It accepts '#333' '#333333' html style or 'red' as in the English language.  You can also select 'transparent' for the background.

Edit 2: It appears bitcointalk.org does image loading thru a proxy of sorts.  I reached out to see if the caching time on coinxc.com could be reduced!

I just added ?decimals= so you can do:

Code:
[img]https://coinxc.com/convert/btc/usd/4/img.png?decimals=2[/img]

which will result in:

It appears bitcointalk.org does image loading thru a proxy of sorts.
The image proxy is meant to prevent tracking (pixels).

The proxy doesn't cache anything:
The proxy never saves images to disk. It will pass on Expires headers, though, so your browser might cache the image.
So (Shift) Reload the page to update images.

This looks amazing!
Thank you for quickly responding here, and one more thing I was wondering if it's possible to change size of images, making them smaller or bigger?
You can also select 'transparent' for the background.
Or I could just add red colored background so that will work for most color themes, both light and dark, and bonus is that this matches with current bloody market trend for Bitcoin Wink

To make it look better I created alternative green version with Venezuelan Bolívar Fuerte:

Thank you for the feedback!!

That's a great suggestion (re size).  I updated it and it's outlined on the API page https://coinxc.com/api

Code:
[img]https://coinxc.com/convert/BTC/USD/1/img.png?fontsize=64[/img]

Thanks again for the feedback! :-)

So (Shift) Reload the page to update images.

I did not know that and thank you!

You made a really good and useful service that can be used in the forum, the interface is simple and easy to load, but I have some notes:

  • I cannot adjust the exchange rate or see prices on other platforms.
  • The conversion cannot be reversed BTC<>USD OR USD <> BTC.
  • Entering currency details needs to change (or change the interface)
  • ADD snap/History price and current price
