i am assuming most are fiat-based bookies are on the list. can you give us a quick list of those crypto sportsbooks that made it to your top 50? as you are here in the forum, most gamblers will be interested on crypto bookies. because i haven't seen any familiar bookie from your top 50 which are present in the forum.

Is this a site you’re working with? What’s the basis to consider as the top sportsbook?
I’ve seen some crypto gambling site and I’m not familiar with the other site, better to have a good summary in OP than to comment on the link, summary can be a big help and why you’re sharing this post. Are you part of the team especially with the site you’re advertising with?

...but cryptocurrency sportsbooks unfortunately do not have the UK license.

Actually, that's inaccurate.

The UKGC license doesn't easily allow holders to accept crypto deposits. In that list I count at least 2 of the crypto bookies you mentioned who actually do have the UKGC license, so I know for sure you're mistaken Wink

So while they're known as crypto bookies, it is simply that their UK versions of casinos/books don't accept crypto deposits.

Indeed, since October 2016, there have been changes in the UKGC licensing in LCCP that allow online casinos to use bitcoin as a monetary equivalent. What I managed to find about this is section 7 on page 31 https://assets.ctfassets.net/j16ev64qyf6l/UOi6gMu0H8cOL32OcuKMi/28650a334736ab552fc16a625303168f/LCCP-crime-review-responses-May-2016.pdf

The news itself https://www.newsbtc.com/news/ukgc-declares-bitcoin-as-cash-equivalent/

To be more accurate, the requirements of the UKGC license when it comes to using crypto as a payment method are a bit too stringent to properly allow for crypto deposits, since they require the same levels of KYC, SoFi etc... which is a completely different business model for crypto-accepting bookies.

So I should have said, doesn't easily allow. Now edited.

Just to note that OP.

Yes, you are right there in the UKGC licensing there are also conditions for the use of cryptocurrencies, including KYC and measures to counter money laundering, the responsibility for this all lies with the casino accepting the cryptocurrency.
