Happened just like I said few month ago. Developer of this coin had a nice idea but like I said Amiga scene is strange and they will never accept something that holds Amiga name and in the same time needs x86 to support it. As an active Amiga developer I offered my help regarding plans and development but developer didn't wanted to listen. He joined amiga forums and start promoting this coin but without any luck. There are lot of miners but they don't mix Amiga name with other things they are doing.

Here is the things that needs to be done.
1. Create coin that can be only mined with M68K architecture.
2. Supporting Workbench/Miami for mining
3. Protect miner for using WinUAE for mining
4. Build online wallet Ibrowse readable
5. Integrate coin into Amiga shop services, magazines, online shows, forums, hardware&software bounty sites etc...

Problem is that developer didn't bother to research anything about me and my work in Amiga scene, then he could understand that I m part of the team who are building CPUs in FPGA who are based on MC68K architecture, but 100 times faster who will be eventually used for mining some coin just by using Amiga when all of the work is finished. For the moment I was thinking that this coin will be the one...

Hello at all,
Sorry for the long absence here, I have had some my personal problems in these months. Initially I was doing a porting of cpuminer/client on AROS (it's an AmigaOS clone that runs on x86/arm systems), but I had to stop it. I hope to work on it again very soon, maybe next month. A couple of guys asked me to help about development some time ago, but they're disappeared after. Anyway, as I wrote previously, I'll be really happy if someone can help me - I'm the only one developer/maintainer of this project, spending a lot of time and many bitcoin to set up everything - obviously it's an open-source project.

I read again your previous messages and I don't remember you offered your help, just some arguments about Amiga trademarks. However, I'll be very glad if you can work on a 68k version. Smiley

Hi Smiley
My arguments was a starting point to some proposals. As we couldn't agree there there was no purpose for me to continue.
Today I investigated few things and it seems that there is not much done by Amiga or Commodore users to adopt mining directly on those machines.
I think that they are missing the point by commenting that MC68K series don't have enough power for mining, but why do we need much power we will  not mine bitcoins, litecoins or something that already has huge diff. There is some work on C64 on some Germany commodore forum and I looked the sources but project is not finished. I know that this is quite different than we need but at least we can see how its done on some retro machine.

Also there are some strange images mining on Amiga but I can't tell are those fake because I couldn't find more information's.

But this image shows exactly what I m saying. So let's consider why I think that this is a fake. First only user of A500 would use this version of Workbench. Second, to connect A500 to the internet you need AlfaData device who is hard to find. There are some more options but using serial cable but I don't think that someone will use that. Then again maybe this is not a fake and someone did amazing job.

Also, there is ASM code done for SHA256 for Amiga, there are also few documents of SHA256 in C for Amiga. Also this could be used for founding bugs and optimisation. http://amidevcpp.amiga-world.de/index.php?HR_LANG=english

Thank you. Yep, we need to porting all asm code of cpuminer from x86 to 68k/powerpc. I think it uses SSE2 instructions, but I'm not very sure because I'm not expert on Assembly x86 (you can have a look here http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/files/?source=navbar ). I'll try to use Amidevcpp as soon as possible; one thing I don't like about AROS is its total lack of any real IDEs (I don't consider Murks an IDE as well as it's unstable and really primitive), so I was using native editor + cli to compile with gcc and it was very painful and frustrating.

ASM is complex thing for something like that. But here are examples SHA256 in ASM.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=71998

Take a look at this also in C and ASM
http://aminet.net/package/util/cli/sha256
http://aminet.net/package/util/crypt/sha

This could be interesting because there are other algos there implemented for Amiga use.
http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53420

Regarding instructions and what's needed. I have sent an mail to the owner of http://retrominer.com/ . Check that video.

Also this is the link about C64 I was talking about, check the sources.

In fact after looking at this sources I think that we don't need to play here with ASM.

Idea for now is to gather information's as much as we can. Regarding Aros, there is MC68K version. Author of the Aros is a member of our internal Amiga dev forum and if you stuck somewhere maybe I can ask him.

Very impressive.  Grin
Yesterday I tried to make some executables for AROS x86 and AmigaOS3 (on FS-UAE) with AmiDevCpp and they run.

Can you tell me exactly what you have tried to compile. First goal would be to try to compile minerd or something like that. If we build miner for Amiga rest of the thing are easy. I was trying to compile minerd but didn't had too much success. It has cygwin and minGW inside but still reports some strange errors about jannson files missing.

Ehm... it's a little bit more complicated: you need to drop out all code to manage multicpu and opencurl stuff. On AROS opencurl doesn't seem that works and I was using bsdsocket.library directly.
About jannsoon, I can give you a little porting of it for AROS made by me... it's used to load/save json files.
I just tried some its examples, like intuition and mui samples.

Eh no, I don't think at the moment. It was in three different markets some months ago, but unfortunately they have been closed.

So, anything I can buy for Amigacoins? Trade AGA for other coins?

Just looking through my app data roaming file and came across my amigacoin wallet with 414k coins in it, been a while since I mined those Grin.

EDIT: April '14 last mined to be precise. It was great fun Smiley.

Hello at all,
I started to work again on Amigacoin a couple of weeks ago. First I had to (re)implement the blockchain explorer, because the old one is disappeared some months ago - I paid a guy to made it and he seemed unreliable. Anyway, now I'm working on an online wallet and then I'll move on real Amiga porting.

I know my website looks really horrible, so, any help is welcomed to improve it! Smiley
