What other languages? If you speak and understand those languages, that's no problem at all. There are many such threads that have been translated from one language to the other. Don't try to translate into or from a language you don't understand.
Regarding how to do it. There really aren't any tricks there. Translate sentence for sentence and omit and add information you think might be beneficial. You can even click on the quote button to check the design and copy over the original layout from the thread starter. After that, you just insert your text wherever it's needed and remove that in the original language.
Don't forget to give credits and share links to the original threads. Some people even PM people to ask for permission, so if you want you can do that as well just in case the person doesn't want his threads replicated elsewhere. I don't see why someone would mind though.

When you say "thread of other languages", you sound like you want to translate from many different languages, even the ones you don't understand well. I hope that's not your idea, if it is, gives it up right away. for such a thing you would probably have to use google translate or something like that and that's not a good idea. in the end, we all already know about that possibility, so such an effort would be almost in vain. I agree with Pmalek, it's probably not too much of a problem to translate into your native language, and it doesn't matter if someone is a newbie here. just make sure you always leave feedback to the original post.

@Lida93, I see that you are active in Nigeria local board, so I guess you want to translate from English to your local language. @Pmalek has already given you some basic guidelines, and the most important thing is not to get involved in translations using translation tools because they won't do a good job. I would advise you to look at the thread from @fillippone -> Help me translate my best posts in your Local BoardSince I don’t see anyone translating his posts into your language, this can be a big challenge for you

1. If you want to translate a topic to your own mother tongue or a language you know very well, you can start with quoting it and removing the starting and ending quote tag so you have the proper formatting. You can use that post as a starting point for yours. Keep in mind that you won't be able to post images. You should add in your post the name of the one who wrote the original and also a link to the original post. You usually don't have to translate more than the first post, clearly not the entire thread. 2. Since you were asking about translating an entire thread, it may be that you want to use tools in order to simply understand entire threads in foreign languages. If that's the case, you can open https://translate.google.com/ select the correct target language (you can leave source language on auto-detect) and paste the link to the thread in the source box; the result will be another link which, when you open, will be the translation. Not a great one, but still useful.

I figure the scenario is that of translating other people’s posts into your local language. Being so, I’d go about it this way: - Ask the OP for his consent to you translating his post. This is more of a deference I figure though, than a real requirement. - Make sure to credit the author and the original post within your post, preferably early on rather that at the end of the translated post. This would be necessary in order to remain honest to the truth, as well as to avoid accusations of plagiarism. - It goes without saying, that one should master well enough both the languages being used, and the concepts being translated, in order for the result to be decent enough. - Bear in mind that some posts may evolve over time, with updates or modifications made by the OP. You may therefore want to check every now and then if the OP’s content has changed, in order to keep the translation in sync. As far as I can recall, I’ve translated a couple of important forum announcements for my local board’s benefit, and a single forum guide on reporting which I considered relevant. I don’t recall asking for permission in any of these cases, but I certainly credited them at the beginning of my translations.

I don't get where is your problem exactly. If you're fluent both in your native language and English, there shouldn't be any issue for you to translate posts. Simply take text that you want to translate and go word by word. You shouldn't change layout of original text, but you can rephrase some words and sentences if it doesn't sounds good in your language. And when you post translated post, don't forget to give credits to original author. Also, before translating you should get permission from author. And I also suggest after you done translation, show it to original author before you publish it.

I think the @OP is a merit seeker by creating this thread as a fake newbie and ask some guide to seek an attention by merit sources.
Question to all: Do you think there's an issues if someone is fluently with English and his local language? It doesn't make sense to ask such question.

Question to all: Do you think there's an issues if someone is fluently with English and his local language? It doesn't make sense to ask such question. I think OP does not mean translating threads in English into his/her own language. If that is the case, this issue wouldn't even have to be raised. Apparently, if one is able to understand English and able to understand and write in his/her own language, there won't be a problem at all. If I'm not mistaken, OP is interested to translate a thread in a different language he/she doesn't speak into his/her own language. I'm a little confused, however, how a thread written in a language one doesn't understand becomes an interest for translation. In which case, OP is not in the position to make the translation. He/she could instead communicate with the thread creator to have it translated into or simply summarized in English so that he/she could do the translation into his/her own language.

Main barriers for you when reading are - You are lack of basic knowledge on technical stuffs so it is very challenging for you to understand it, let's say even with your native language, not foreign languages.
- In order to translate original resources to your native language well enough, you must understand meanings of such resources. If you can not, let's learn more and only start to think of translation when you think you understand what you read well enough.
- Because if you don't understand what you read, your translation will spread incorrect information around the Internet, that is terrible
Lot of topics for you to read, comprehensively understand it for your own benefit, then choose some of them to translate.

I am a newbie with an interest of wanting to translate thread of other languages but I completely don't have the idea on how to go about it, the processes and procedures acrued it. Hi Lida93! First of all, please clear up a few things. Do you want to be a verified translator like other forums provide and earn money by doing this? I mean do you offer a translation service? If so, I think no one will trust you because of your rank. I would suggest you buy a copper membership and create a Service thread in this board with your existing portfolio link. Also, there is no verified translator badge like another forum. So, You have to provide your previous work example. If that's not the purpose but you want to translate useful topics and share them on your local board/thread. Feel free to check fillippone's Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board (This thread). You can contribute to the forum by translating those useful topics. Another suggestion is: Don't translate in a language that you don't understand. Don't use Google Translate or other translators. Don't translate a thread that you don't understand. Even if the thread is written in English, you may not understand many things because everyone doesn't understand technical things like S2F modeling, Bitcoin features and many more.
I think the @OP is a merit seeker by creating this thread as a fake newbie and ask some guide to seek an attention by merit sources. Question to all: Do you think there's an issues if someone is fluently with English and his local language? It doesn't make sense to ask such question.
Can't you take it positively? I have seen on multiple forums that people offer translation services. Since he/she is a newbie, Let's wait for his/her answer and don't judge a book by its cover.

Apparently, its part of the newbie life. Whose newbie here doesnt want to rank up anyway. Im not sure if his faking that his a newbie since his good on plotting sentences. But the approach isnt bad if the idea is to help other newbies, also benefiting him in a sense to familiarize such forum tools to enable a good posting presentation. Merit sources would likely noticed it anyway if they are just farming merits or literally and honestly working for it.

I mean do you offer a translation service? If so, I think no one will trust you because of your rank. I would suggest you buy a copper membership and create a Service thread in this board with your existing portfolio link. The copper membership does not mean that someone is trusted. It's a useful feature to bypass certain limitations, such as that of being able to post images in your threads. But it shouldn't be mistaken as a symbol of a trustworthy forum member. Not even a high rank means you are trustworthy. On this forum, not even positive trust means you can be trusted with money or to fulfill the obligations of an agreement. It can mean all that, but not in all cases. We have people with plenty of positive trust, but none of the feedback was earned as a result of trades that involve money or goods.

Trust and reputation are achievement from what a member has done and contributed after a long time. The Copper membership can be gotten after one or several clicks (payment and activation) so it does not reflect reputation of one member. On this forum, not even positive trust means you can be trusted with money or to fulfill the obligations of an agreement. It can mean all that, but not in all cases. We have people with plenty of positive trust, but none of the feedback was earned as a result of trades that involve money or goods.
Every member in this forum are equally treated by (un)official rules of the forum. The Copper membership won't give you special and softer treatment if you break forum rules.

You have Member rank, which means you can add images to your posts that will be visible to others. Only Newbie rank has that restriction, but even they can get around it if they buy Copper Membership. One very important thing for me personally is to pay attention to the appropriate image size. Images can always be customized with easy placement in code where you can very easily set the size by changing value width. [img width=200]Your Link Here[/img]

What best suggestion for you is to go on your local board look for people who also do the same job and try to check how they do their translation because from the threads you read from their you can get an idea on what you will do next. Also after you have an idea by reading someone's work you also check on altcoin bounty section which needs a translator since from their you can get more jobs, try also check if there's no one already chosen to do the job since your application will be useless if there's someone chosen already. And last never ever do plagiarism or copy someone's work to show that you have portfolio nor use google translate or automate translation because this will not give you a good result since this is a form of cheating.

We have people with plenty of positive trusts, but none of the feedback was earned as a result of trades that involve money or goods. Don't get me wrong, please. I have never said that people will trust him if he buys a Copper membership. The Copper membership will help him post images and it will reduce some restrictions (which won't be eliminated). It will help him/her to post image portfolio if he/she has any.

<…> I think I'll have to start from the announcement section too for starter.
I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to here: Important Announcements (which are stale), Service Announcements or Altcoin Announcements. None of these seem like where I’d look for the best candidates. I don’t think you’ve quite made explicit from what language you’d be translating to what other language, but bear in mind that, if the end repository of these translations is going to be your local thread (I’ve seen you’ve posted in the Nigerian local thread), there may be some implicit/explicit rules on how to proceed there. For example, all local threads seem to be subject to the following, as per the section's description: " Communities that don't have their own board. Translated announcements are prohibited unless locally relevant.".
