I actually always use a VPN when I’m accessing certain Crypto Related sites. For me it’s an issue of security and my own safety. I have been into bitcoin for many years and when you see enough people get scammed you start to get a little bit paranoid.
I actually fell for a scam once myself so it can really happen to anyone. The best we can do is try to protect ourselves and take all the necessary precautions we can.
If you’re dabbling in a lot of crypto related activities I think using a VPN is just one of those necessary steps that gives you a little peace of mind. Now it’s possible that my VPN provider is selling my data, I just can’t be sure but I still feel safer using it.

When I signed up for Bitcointalk, it was a question of security how we can get more of it and a VPN was very effective against a leak of data. Bitcointalk suffered many hacks already because it seems to be based on an outdated layout from when Bitcoin was launched by Satoshi. Satoshi created Bitcointalk himself.
Of course, a VPN was a good option for signing up and it will improve our security A LOT.

If in doubt, a VPN is always a good idea.
Not only for Bitcointalk but also generally.
...
I'm not a coder but I can recommend a VPN for internet, like Bitcointalk.

VPNs will not improve your computer security.
Of course it will. When a hacker is trying fo find a target, he will get problems to detect his target.
VPN can help here.

saying that a VPN is the most secure for the internet, certainly won't be completely secure.
VPN is part of it. You still need wire protection, too

Wait.
Could you provide a list of Bitcointalk attacks? The data leaked?
It was huge: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4405796.0
Bitcointalk was hacked in [2011] , [2013] and [2015]

How is it related to "outdated layout"?
Old layout has lots of vulnerabilities. It's like when you are using a new tool, it's much better.
And hackers are improving hacking skills day by day.

How using VPN (I guess you are talking about hiding your real IP) could help in avoiding leaks?
Because of reduced targeting.

i do aggree with this one but nowadays VPN have system like tor have, multiple IP so basically we connected to 2 or more country at the same time.

But offcource we need paid VPN service there some said that if you are using free product, you are the product
Free VPN is just a place for advertisements and lots of advertisements which lead us to obscure sites and in the end we have to watch those advertisements. Indeed, we are the product when we use a free VPN. If you use a premium VPN it will be free of ads, but you will need to pay a few dollars to enjoy the premium version. We also need to know the privacy policy of using premium VPNs. Don't let our data be recorded and misused. No matter how good a VPN is, it all depends on the user.
