Cheetah F1 not hashing after fan failure

Hello,

Can someone please help with this?

I just got a Cheetah F1 and it worked for 3 days after one of the fans failed.
Miner was hashing when the fan failed because:
1. Environment is cold
2. It has built-in cutoff at 100C.
 
I turned it off & replaced the fans but the miner will not hash, it endlessly loops with:

I've tried with no success:
- resetting it
- re-flashing it
- updating the firmware
- downgrading the firmware
- changing the pool
- changing from tcp to ssl
- switching the signal cables around the hashboards
- using a power supply with twice the power output

What stands out for me in the kernel log is this:

Maybe bad fan connection or incompatible fans? Very hard to say, the only controls the miner has are: pool, reboot, operation mode - efficiency and performance. That's it.

Bellow is loop section of kernel log after 4h of "running" while not hashing. I have attached some videos of the LED error code also.
Normal operation LED sequence is: 1-2-3-4 then it starts hashing . Error displayed is: 1-2-4-3 short - 1 short & repeat.

This unit looks like an Aisen A1 miner usually to this unit if it has a bad fan it won't hash so maybe the fan you replace is not compatible.

Would you mind to check the wires of the old fan and maybe the position for signals for both speed and PWM signal is not in the right position. So try to replug the pins in the right position.
Just like on the s9 miner have 4 pins yellow and blue must be in the right position before you plug them into the miner.

the fan are 4 pin

- Black   =  - 12V
- Red     = + 12V
- Yellow =  Signal Speed
- Blue    = Signal PWM

Unfortunately, I threw out the broken fan and the one that was left. Didn't want to use them anymore.

To eliminate the no-hashing issue: would a fan simulator work? I have fans powered through a separate fan controller.

If so, do you know if  I use a fan simulator from the other brands or does the simulator need to be specifically for the Cheetah F1?

I have a picture I took, comparing the broken fan to a standard 4pin PWM but you can't clearly see the wiring. From what I remember, seemed to be the same color-code as a normal fan.

I don't have so much info about Cheetah miner they actually don't have a website or support here on the forum.
All my suggestions are based on what I experienced on Antminer and research so I do not know if the fan simulator or that whatsminer fan kit will work on Cheetah miner.

You can try maybe it will work but how can you cool down the hashboards? It will hash but the problem I think if it's overheating then it will also stop mining.
I hope that you didn't throw out the broken fan so that we can check the exact model of that fan to find the same model or compatible fan.

Thank you once again for your insight, I will keep you updated. Trying to get into mining on a budged is hard af, especially when you have to deal with all of this bs that just doesn't exist with Bitmain machines (less hassle, higher up-time, parts availability, knowledge etc.). Had an Antminer S9 last year with Braains OS on it and I thought it was hard but manageable. Oh boy, was I wrong...


As for cooling: I have 4 parallelminer fans + fan controller + a PC. Gonna mount the fans in a push-pull config, power them via the PC for control and for powering the fan controller.
I'm expecting that if at least the temps are the same, the noise will be way less. Mining software will be happy because it will "detect" fans, hashboards will be happy since they will be cool, I will be happy with the noise and the control part.

The fans that came with the Cheetah F1 were these: YD YD12038B2G 4.5A(GP)
They are 8k+ rpm fans. They screech, they are impossible to service and the vibrations generated from the rpm unscrewed the screws that were keeping them in place which is why one of the fans failed, because after noticing this, I tightened the screws more and since the vibrations had nowhere to go, the ripped apart the fan from its casing and it killed itself.
Better yet: at their peak rpm they push out ALMOST as much CFM as a standard 6k rpm parallelminer fan pulling almost half the amps ) These YD fans are literally broken, from design to finished product.

It seems only Alibaba selling this fan model and few on Taobao.
How about the model of the replacement can you post the image. What I want you to try is to swap the two-wire yellow one and the blue wire if it's the same as the old fan.
I heard someone before with other miners who replace it with a different fan model the data signal is not the same he fixed the issue by swapping those 2 wires.

If it didn't work then your last hope is the fan simulator I search a bit it seems the fan simulator that you posted above seems will work because I saw this one below for Cheetah f1 fan simulator.

@BitMaxz: Fixed with the fan simulator from Thanosminig. Their customer support&shipping was exceptional which surprised me considering the part was 5$.

With the 4 parallelminer fans running from the fan hub off the PC at around 3,500RPM the temps are holding at 74C which is not only half the speed and half the amps of the stupid YD fans, it's also half the noise.
I did a test run with the 4 fans at max rpm and they are still quieter than the YD fans not to mention they hum instead of screech.
