In a few days, everyone whose wiki account has an email address matching a forum account will automatically gain free editing privileges if their forum account has at least 45 activity.

So if you meet this requirement or will very soon, make sure that you have a wiki account with an email address exactly equal to your forum email address. If your activity level is 28 or lower, then it will be impossible for you to get the required activity score in time.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Rather than a one time thing, could that be made permanent?

Probably not, but I do want to figure out good ways of allowing more people to gain editing privileges without paying a fee.

Hey, I'm an Italian student currently writing a master thesis on the bitcoin protocol. As I'm reading the technical articles I noticed that some of them (namely those about the satoshi client) are out of date and I would like to update them. I have 0 money tho. What do?

Thats great to hear but I am worried there might be some imminent abuse coming.

Any way to limit the amount of edits one can do? similar to activity on this forum

I had/have similar fears. Anyone who abuses wiki edit privileges may have their forum account "punished" (yet to be defined by theymos).
Also part of the reason this is a one-time thing, is so that banned users can't just recreate a new wiki account and keep abusing it.

It's not done yet. However, the data collection part is probably done now, so trying to get more activity or creating a wiki account probably won't get you anything now. I will announce the details here when it's all done.

Making a note on this thread since this seems like the best place to ask for someone to fix the problem.

Its protected for me at my permission level Luke
I am waiting on the account activity change and didn't get a status update to change/edit the wiki yet.
It made more sense to just ask someone who can to change it, instead of sending off some spare change to cryptopay then waiting for verification.
That or I made the account too late, although activity was reset on March 31st/April 1st on the forum so I am assuming it just has not gotten up to my username yet

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
Editing wiki pages requires anti-spam verification using CryptoPayment.

It's not done yet. However, the data collection part is probably done now, so trying to get more activity or creating a wiki account probably won't get you anything now. I will announce the details here when it's all done.

484 accounts were updated. If your wiki account's email address as of March 31 had the same email address as your forum account as of April 2, and if you met the activity requirements on April 2, then your wiki account should now be capable of editing.
