Yeah, those are some of the tasks. Social media campaigns require the hunters to like, tweet, post, retweet, follow, comment, etc., etc. But you also have things like article writing, translation campaigns, making YouTube videos, artwork, and so on. Not really sure what else they have come up with in the meantime. maybe Telegram and reddit posting considering that the two are quite popular in the crypto space.

Best thing of all, there are no guarantees you will ever get paid. You work for stakes and it all depends on how well the crowdfunding/ICO/ITO/whatever it is now goes. So in theory, your "work" can be rewarded with $1, $10, or $1000. Although, it's highly unlikely you will get anything close to $1000.

Do they even use escrow? 

I think some bounty manager require that the bounty allocation is paid into their address and then they post an address where the community can check it. But there is no traditional escrow as far as I know.

The best approach you can take if you are interested in bounties is to find someone who is using escrows or managers here in the forum. In that way, you can be assured that you would get paid for what you did or have a better understanding of the project so that they learn how to adapt to the forum.

Imagine being a forum member, and you don't know if it is worth it to go through the tasks because of the untrustworthiness of the project. It's going to be a risk, then.

That's what's been happening all along in the bounty section although some bounty hunters actually get paid for their efforts. I'm not saying it's too bad especially if the projects are really serious about wanting to develop, but most of them don't live up to what they were intended to end up badly for forums and bounty hunters.

For one reason I've also stayed away from that part in recent years because the effort and results just don't seem worth it. The bounty hunters who were so focused there were completely unaware that they had wasted enough time without having had the opportunity to learn something far more lucrative.

It is a hit or miss now unlike back in 2017 when ICOs were still like booming. Scammers would just take advantage of any sorts of trends out there.
For some bounty hunters, what would you expect from them if they were only after the money?  Some of them just do not care about the project at all and would just go for their authentication post if that is still even the norm in that section.
I have a feeling that some of them are even bots.

To be honest and though it might sound silly or weird, I have never visited the bounty board in the forum and I cannot actually locate where it is, but for sure I know it should be a sub board under altcoins.
From when I joined the forum newly, I saw that all kinds of spam are attributed to bounties and also the forum frowns at spams. I decided to distance myself from the board not even to visit.
What convinced my decision more was when I saw a member of this forum who has 1000+ activity but no single merit. Making the person still a newbie. I laughed it off and went my way.

I feel most people on the bounty section are those who don't want to Learn and those who don't want to read and learn about new things, God bounty is so boring and static, well if you don't want to learn about new things you will enjoy that section because you just have to do same thing over and over again.

There are no such rules prohibiting newbies to spam and posting on bounty boards, and perhaps, they are free to do so. Ignoring this board is the best option rather than restricting newbies to visit and spam there. It is soon they realize what they are doing and hopefully, they will change their style or else, they live forever as a spammer and a scammer.

It is sometimes I've visited the board but yes, you can't find any helpful things there.

If they are restricted in certain boards they will just find another one which they are allowed to do it again that's why this kind of solution may somehow not work in long term, And maybe its time for bounty managers to check the weekly performance of their participants and find relevance on their post or maybe require certain merit counts on them before they can join. If they don't care and didn't try those suggestion given maybe this spamming show will continue.

I also was a victim few months ago, but all thanks now that I found some other interesting forums like this particular one, apart of the bounty section been scammy it is also boring, you just keep on repeating same thing over and over again over some piece of coin which may even end up been a scam.

Bounty is truly loaded with varieties of uncertainties about many cryptocurrencies since that is the only avenue for their massive display and site attraction, I don't blame many victims of bounty because they lack the understanding of what's all about it and things at stake if involved, yet you will see many investors going on been proud about thier bounty investment, a good example is as having your coins on the blockchain but lacking the accessible keys to it through your wallets address, anything that has more risk than benefits should be totally avoided.

Users that only participating on Bounty nowadays are those low rank, low quality posters and None Bitcointalk user that just using the forum to participate and submit there report. Yoi should leave that secrion if you find it unprofitable and stop wasting time joining any of them. There are still some campaign there that is legit if you will do the dilligence on researching all the campaign thread 1 by 1.

Actually some of them are not totally newbies. They are in here before stayed for a long time but what we saw on their profile is that they are still newbies cause they are not contributing well to this forum all they want is to gain money from the. Bounty campaigns without knowing that they are the best examples of spammer and a shit poster with low quality of the post. Maybe they are not thinking about our community.

It has been a long time since I don't check the bounty sections. Yeah, this spam happens due to the high number of new projects coming and being created. Well, there may be some certain projects that really have the dedication to grow up, created and developed more seriously by all teams, and being listed in top coins with certain good progress of their market cap and volume, moreover, they may be some good projects with strong fundamentals.
however, I cannot deny that after visiting again, most are spams of new projects. But, as usual, there are still many participants joining, moreover if we look at how the bounty thread is managed with some reports for each campaign.

For what it's worth, I think the newbies you warn to stay away from bounty hunting are the ones who flock there for that same purpose. Participating in bounties gives most newbies and lazy posters that false feeling that they can earn something from the forum even without ranking up. This is why most users who do bounties hardly get merits. Their posts are mostly peopled with links and reports for their bounty tasks. I make bold to say once more that unless the mods and admins step into this issue, the bounty section will continue to be spam and scam hive.

When you participate in bounties, you do not earn merit; instead, you receive worthless tokens after working spamming for a period of time. We've to constantly factor in the fact that Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that isn't an altcoin. However, we still have to remember that it isn't all roses for Bitcoin also. It has had its numerous downtown too. It's currently having it now. However, Bitcoin has an ability to reinvent itself in a way whenever it crashes. That attribute is what most altcoins don't have. It's not as if there aren't the bad in Bitcoin too. Like you rightly stated, altcoins also have their good side too. In fact, to tell you the truth; alts give better ROI on a short term than Bitcoin investment.
