I wouldn't pick either. I don't think the progress that Cardano made over the last 7 years is significant enough. They just aren't competitive tech wise to other projects like FTM, MATIC and CNDL. As to Avalanche, I don't hold any and I preferred to participate in DeFi on Fantom in the past instead.

They are of the closest comparison and similar market status...but for me, I'd choose Avax this time. Though Cardano has existed for a quite long time in the market, however, my trust is in favor of Avalanche.

ADA and AVALANCHE were competitors. Both have almost the same spesification. It's hard to pick which one the best from both of them. ADA is far stable compared with avalanche in term of the price but avalanche is still undervalued at this moment caused by it was going back again to the bottom. I will pick avax as a good bet for long term although some people said that this was bad for now but i don't care so much about that caused by these days it's better to make money in short term rather than long term.

Don't buy altcoins in middle of bear market because altcoins will be divided many times, and lose their values more dramatically than Bitcoin.

In middle of bear market, you should either keep your capital in fiat currencies or in Bitcoin only.

Basically everything depends on the market trend. AVAX would definitely be a good investment if the market came from a bear to bull. But many of us cannot be confident about the stability of the market so our target is to invest in either BTC or Ether. However AVAX is a reliable platform which is far below from the all time high so investing here will be profitable at the moment.

Anything that was trading at the bottom price must be considered as opportunity no matter what kind of coin as long as these are major coins and still worth to buy. i know that some people may feel disappointed caused by they were buying at the peak price but yeah.
That is how people feel frustated caused by buying at the top. So, i don't care anymore about that. I meant avalanche was offering very big opportunity along with ada coz both traded at the bottom price.

Buying at the top doesn't even have to be the end case for these people. They need to learn that where you are buying doesn't matter, how you approach it matters. For example, if you have 10k to invest, if you buy bitcoin at 68k with all of your 10k then you made a big mistake.

But, if you bought 2.5k worth of it at 68k, and 2.5k more at 50k, then 2.5k more at 40k then 2.5k more at 30k, then you dropped your average to around 45k, and yes that is not great, but it is much better than 68k as you can see, 20k+ lower. This is why you should always reconsider DCA method, it would allow you to make sure that you do not end up buying at the top price.

ADA is old already and it still performing well. While Avax has a growing performance that caught the attention of many investors. Choosing any of them is still a good decision and feel no regrets. But what really matters is we make an investment in potential altcoins that we know will give us a profit (a big profit is possible) if we wait for the Bullrun. Importantly, we know how to manage investment otherwise, even choosing highly potential coins could make us losses if mismanage.

^ Probably ADA has potential if you compare it to AVAX, ADA has proven recently while the one that you compare is the new one.
But to be honest, I won't give a large allocation of my investment an altcoins like this, I am still on BTC which is my first priority, and the next one if there is an extra capital, I will go with altcoins, something like 25% total of my investment allocation was on altcoins.
If you will invest both much better, I did not see wrong in AVAX too, I cannot tell my prediction but it seems this coin will also have community support that possible will pumped soon.
