Reason why I won't be buying top altcoins in this bear market

Not entirely. "Many" is such a broad word and some of those top altcoins are still gaining trust from investors while swallowing the truth that this is just a bear market.
What are those "new" altcoins that will replace the old ones?
There's a mass creation of new tokens and there's no assurance about what they could be in the future. Anything for now which includes investing is a risky move. Have you had eyes on some that look like they will be one of the tops?

Totally depends with the market trend and development progress from the project. Just beacuse the bearish market doesn't mean if that will change lots of big cap altcoins.

You are not entirely right and at the same thing not entirely wrong, coins like avax and polka-dot will add more value as time goes on, a few top coins in 2017 lose ranks and went under top 50 on coinmarketcap but these coins I mentioned have what it takes, see that's the difference, if coins like XRP, LTC, BNB can still maintain their positions in top 20 then they aren't joking, you aren't entirely wrong, some will lose their ranks but not all.

Some of your arguments are right and some needs to be corrected. for the altcoins that will not gonna survive this bearish market, I'm sure there are lots of them who will also give up their project and be replaced by another that has real road maps to follow and have real teams to do the promotions. that's why we need to be careful not to listen to those who will gonna take advantage to promote their project and they will gonna perform rug pull, that will be the worst thing to happen to you if you fell into those kinds of traps.

There are quite a lot of reasons why you prolly shouldn't buy altcoins, especially in this period, the thing is that most of these altcoins are pump and dump coins, and they are only pumped through hype, right now in the network there is no such hype and most altcoins are going to dump and never rise again, since they actually do not have any utility. Altcoins are short term projects, and buying coins in this period only means you have the intention of hodling it for a long time, thus you shouldn't really be buying altcoins now cause you shouldn't be hodling altcoins for the long period. If i had any altcoin at this time, i will sell them so i do not lose everything completely, and prolly buy when the market is okay again, and when there is hype. If there is a coin you should buy now that would be Bitcoin.

I don't think that some top altcoins will be replaced by new ones. Your point #3 is not accurately true as some top altcoins are still on the top ranking if you ask me. It is true that I find some new altcoins are now included in the top ranking but it could also be replaced by the old one or another new altcoins when what happen to previous top altcoins that are replaced will also happen to the altcoins that are now included in the top ranking.

Some coins may be able to be replaced with the new coin like luna but it's not caused by the bearish market, sometime the incident may make people to leave the project and move to the new project.

Market cap value is not actually represent the value of a project, there maybe some good project but with less cap value so never invest based on the market cap value and you're actually right many coins won't recover after the huge dump or from the bear market so choose your coins wise or stick with bitcoin and forget about getting rekt.

good reason, indeed according to coinmarketcap every bull market happens everything changes, the ranking of each coin, and it's true,
a lot of new coins appear in the top 20 or top 100, of course if you think investing in the top 20 now is a good thing, but in my opinion is no!,

And anyone which does not believe this can just take a look at the information in the past and see that with the exception of bitcoin always staying at the top the other coins kept changing places and replacing one another, so while altcoins may be good for short term trading they are not really the best option when it comes to long term holding, and yet we see a lot of cases of people doing exactly that and most of the time things do not end well for themk.

There’s always a reason for us not to buy some altcoins but with the top altcoins? I still believe on them and most probably they will survive on this crash. Some of the good old altcoins are still on the top position, that can still be a good option to buy it, just continue to analyze and you can be good. On a bear market we should be more wise, decide on which coins to buy, fundamentally this can be a big thing during bear so look for a coin with a good technology and you think that can survive in bear, the market will rise again eventually.

If you will look at the top alts, let's say ETH, BNB, for me, they are worth the risk. Because the team behind it is solid and won't disappear just like many other alt projects. So yes, you can explore your opportunities with alts, but you need to make sure you do your job of scrutinizing them.

1. This is true except for Ethereum and a few of them like BNB. But we don't know in the next bull run, it's gotta be all about bitcoin then.

2. Well, also another true thing. But we will get to see those alts that despite they won't be back at their past ATH, they'll just have to manage to retain their position at their current top spot.

You might not say the same for Ethereum, bud. I believe it is been there since. Obviously Bitcoin will stay in #1 and it would be there as long as we wanted to but since you're mentioning altcoins, I wouldn't look into that.
Altcoin ranks like around >Top 5 had changed for quite some time. I even recall some user here showing the snapshots of CMC back in previous years and I recall when Dogecoin was like in top 5 though someone could correct me if I am wrong at that.
