It's very nice to see such a low rated team like Rayo Vallecano that isn't even considered a big team in the Spanish La'liga to have even made it this far, this is something really special for Spanish football seeing that they could make it to the finals of this competition in a season where the elite Spanish teams didn't perform as good as a lot of people would have anticipated, and this could be even more better if they could go all the way to win it and make history with this small club from Spain.
Before they made it to the competition in the first place shows that they have really improved although I have not followed up the team but I know for a certain that they have upgraded just like the way Girona once did in their last season campaign but currently they have fell short so badly that I hardly notice or see any upset that they have gotten in the league but as for Rayo vallecano, they worth and deserve everything they are currently enjoying and hopefully they get to seal it off with a big victory at the finals too.
There are some seasons when a team may be doing bad in the domestic league but doing displaying exceptional performance at the European level where they're participating. I remember the English club Tottenham Hotspur doing that in the last season, bad performance at home league which they even had to struggle off relegation but had to win the Europa League trophy which saw them into this season's UCL. So it could have just being similar scenario for Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish league and UEFA conference they've made into the final. As for Girona, it's pathetic to think that they're now a diminishing version of it former self.
