The price of mining machines is about to rise. Now the prices of machines are very low. Is it a good time to buy?
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

The price will not rise in the bear market, it will fall because the profitability fall in the same way.

With energy prices on the rise, prices declining, hardware will become cheaper. You can already see it in the Videocard rigs. Getting lower and lower. If the bear enter to november, i know I will start my mining operations again. Simply they provide warmth and i expect the prices to be very very low. In a way it is cheaper and more fun to do. Don't know if bitmain will rise their prices, but they will be shooting themself, because with current difficulty and energy prices, miners have to dump their btc.

All prices for ASIC's decrease from day to day. I'm also waiting for the right GPU flood, at the moment used GPUs in Europe are still too expensive.

What? Mining prices are about to rise?   :oo is it December 2020 over again? Don't fool yourself newbie mining rigs, graphic cards and Asic miners will become very cheap from now henceforth because we are just getting started with a bear market, don't let anyone talk you out of this, wait for a while before buying graphic cards.

Same here. $300 for an RTX 2070 super, $290 for a GTX 1080 Ti or $400 for a RTX 3060 Ti is still too expensive. Prices have to fall by 20% before I consider building more rigs.

I look at the prices on this site, and I used to order various equipment there. I didn't have to apply for warranty.

It seems to me that if you find a good discount, then it is more profitable than buying used components.

There is a difference between ASICs and GPUs. If Bitcoin or Litecoin took a huge crash you could probably score some cheap ASICs. With GPUs it’s different.

GPUs have many other uses other than mining. Kids with YouTube use it for rending, some use it for AI, many gamers out there. Hence why they hold their value better. Especially now with all the shortages going on.

I think for people who want to jump into GPU mining prices are just about right, sure they may go down further after a couple of months but if I can make a 2500 USD rig with 7 x Rtx 2070 Super that would good for me,it means a near 300 Mhsh rig for just that price,it is doable right now and I don't consider it a really high price,of course taking into consideration that you jump in for the long term profitability and not to just jump in to make a quick buck,if you do so to make a quick buck this was never beneficial nor it is now to anyone.

It seems to me that the whole market of video cards depends on the price of bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin falls, then the price of all altcoins that can be mined on video cards will also fall. Even now, there are very cheap prices for video cards on the market, and Ethereum mining has not yet ended.

Today's video card prices are still above MSRP for the most part, which isn't cheap. I regard 'cheap' as at least 10% below MSRP. Once the RTX 3060 dips < $300, that is cheap. But there has been no decline for most models over the past 15 days despite the huge crash in BTC price.

I think the 15%/month decline we've seen for the past 6 months will continue for at least 2 more months. It will probably stay static after that until PoS. So I won't build rigs now.

Yes but there are also risks as well since GPUs innovation move faster than ASICs. While ASICs are very controllable by a few distributors/manufacturers. It's like one easily being sold to the open market with a lot of uses vs one with narrow and limited use. Niche does have some effect on its price too, that's what I want to say.

Graphics cards last longer than Asic miners, if you don't make back your ROI on Asic in just 3 years max you are a goner, Graphic cards can stay profitable for many years before running off the lane, RX 580 cards are mining beast since how many years already?.

Even in prior bear markets like 2015 and 2019, there weren’t any crazy cheap GPU deals. Trust me I’ve looked.

There are maybe a few people that got lucky when someone liquidated an $5000 MSRP farm for $500 but most GPUs sold at average prices on eBay or Craigslist.

Only deals to be had were with broken GPUs. Such as dead GPUs or GPUs with dead fans.

Well true that..

However, I am able to obtain GPUs in bulk from my supplier lower than what Newegg is selling. PM me for details.

P/S not exactly an advertisement here but since the OP was talking about price increases..

I do not think. that it will be beneficial to video card manufacturers and sellers. Perhaps there will be attractive promotions, but soon the PTX 4000 series will be sold and the last series will be discontinued. You can buy used 3000 series video cards if they are in good condition.

This is feeling bottom-ish for gpu prices,

Calculated from bank loan, even if you zero electrical cost the bank interest is around equal to profit. Means, let's say for 3 years you are mining just to pay bank loan at zero electrical cost

Timing the bottom is also as hard as timing the top..but we are around the bottom area.

Buying bit by bit now and lower will at least give a soft capital entry.

If you study this scenario, then after the end of mining, the profit may not even be enough to pay for electricity. There will be problems with other expenses. There are no new coins for mining with a good profit now.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement.  At least not in USD.  Sure, valued in altcoins it might look like prices are rising but the reality is that lots of people overextended themselves to purchase miners and GPUs during the peak and are now selling them as fast as they can.  Valuation of miners in USD has been crashing pretty hard, so I'm curious why you think they're now going to rise as currency valuations are sinking like a stone.  Perhaps some statements about why you think the prices are about to rise would be beneficial to the conversation.
