A friend of mine who has been doing Bitcoin investments since 2015 tried so hard to introduce me to it but I wasn’t buying the idea. As at 2018 I was still skeptical about it cause I thought no good can come out of it and it will crash. He kept telling me how it works, but I wasn’t ready to invest my money on digital currency. I remember his exact words, he said "I know you can doubt this. Your skepticism and your fear of risk taking are colliding but that’s okay. It is the hunger you have to invest that will help you grow faster while investing on Bitcoin. The skepticism can stay there, I am not going to try to chase it away for you. You can sit in the corner, be in the background, its thin shadow casting dark and transparent on the wall. But that doesn’t border me cause I know I can't promise you a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but know it's the final decision you make today that will help you in future”. That day I thought about it over night and decided to give it a try. He showed me so much about how things are being done. From creating a wallet, how to buy and sell bitcoins. I also went on to research more about what I was about getting myself involved in. I’m glad I listened to my friend and invested in Bitcoin. I’ve never regretted my decision till date and that’s what gives me so much courage that even when Bitcoin goes up and down I still believe that it will rise again. Although ever since I started investing in Bitcoin it hasn’t gone this dip before. But I trust it’s for the best and it’s a great opportunity for me to buy more and hold. That’s how I started my bitcoin journey. How did yours begin?

Long story short, I worked for bitcoin. Also I had DCA plan since long time. In addition I fall in love with bitcoin. Understand the benefit of having a decentralized financial system, bitcoin will be easier for you. Consider it as the future of economy, it's not just an investment.

I checked out all the study guides recommended by tbct_mt2, I can attest that you really need to read them. They would be indeed helpful. You must also note that investing in Bitcoin has it's own level of risk, hence you must be well prepared to bear the consequences when the price drops. Also every investments needs patients and courage. Sometimes it takes a long time for an investment to start yielding profit. But some impatient investors sometimes hurriedly sell off their investment even at loss because their projections is not working as planned. Bitcoin is not a ponzi scheme where you just want your money to double overnight, you need to be patient.

OP was sharing his experience of starting with bitcoin 🤣
True, people are just posting anything just to get that money from signature campaigns without actually giving a single read to the topic or what OP is actually talking about. How did yours begin?
Quite impressive for me, started in 2020 when prices were down, my girlfriend's birthday comes in March so I got her some Bitcoin and Ethereum and got some for myself. Also, bought another batch in September. Then when it peaked at $64k, I got a sell indication on my trading setup so I literally sold all my assets and booked a massive profit. Now, I am actually accumulating with that profit so that I can have some more fruitful journey in the next bull run.

That’s how I started my bitcoin journey. How did yours begin?
Back in 2013 or 2014, I wanted some extra income. So when I searched on Google, how to make money online, I discovered a YouTuber who was teaching about Bitcoins. I was astonished to see that the value of 1 BTC was around 400-500$. I mean it was completely new for me and seeing a coin whose value is so much, made me interested to dig about the coin. In this manner I was introduced to the coin, and then soon I started gambling in Bitcoins in my initial days before becoming a trader. I guess many people’s story will be similar like mine, as 80% of all the Bitcoin traders were introduced like this when they searched for a side income. Willing to hear other people’s story also.

Damn, you're probably one of the first I know of who started so recently, and actually got something great out of it, well done to you, fair play! I got in before the previous cycle, but being a holder and never really doing much in way of trading, I actually had to liquidate significantly IN 2020 just as 20k was being broken... so I did "profit" from that as I wouldn't have ever saved as much without Bitcoin, but I'm today effectively where I started that time, since Bitcoin is more or less in the same range, and I haven't managed to build much more BTC than I had then. Oh, just a regular saver here. Freelance, started asking in BTC when PayPal became infuriating.

Mine was just a random search on the internet some years ago and it took me some time to learn all the basics and other stuff before finally starting my investment let me tell you, it was not successful at first because I invested in some scam cloud mining site which closed after a few weeks of payout. Back then scammers are using cloud mining as bait, right now they using what they see as a trend to hook up people's money and lure them with sweet words. That's why when you first try to invest, make to spend some money that are not really important and make it minimal to avoid big losses.

I would say similar scenario, i get to know btc both by surfing the internet and from a friend, my first encounter was through surfing the internet, i used to see some btc adverts online and i would wonder what was it. i ask a close friend if he is aware of it, he gave me some insight about btc but he has limited knowledge because the tech was new to him as well. So i continue digging, making mistakes and learning at the same time. And here we today, it was a bumping ride but am always glad for having an open mind from the onset to learn new things. it is worth all the time spent.

First choice a better bitcoin wallet and complete verification if you want to invest big amount. And now is a better time to invest in bitcoin coz whole market now in soo dip. It is a better time for you and you can definitely invest on cryptocurrency specially in bitcoin. You can bought btc from largest exchange Binance, Coinbase, FTX, KUCOIN if your plan is holding for long time then withdraw it on your personal bitcoin wallet and keep holding
OP is sharing about how he entered the market and his experience in the market, he didn't ask us where and how to start investing in bitcoin. You should read both the title and content carefully before replying.
Honestly, whether we enter the market in 2013, 2017 or even now, I don't think it's too late to regret or regret. We are the pioneers of the bitcoin revolution. Our job is to accumulate as many bitcoins as we can and keep them as long as possible because they will help us have a better life in the future. Instead of doubting bitcoin, we should be thankful because if it doesn't drop we won't have the chance to own it for a low price.

The topic is “how I started Bitcoin investing” so it’s not about Bitcoin wallets and passwords. Seems you didn’t read the content of my topic. You were suppose to talk about how you started investing on Bitcoin. That’s how you knew about Bitcoin and how you decided to start Bitcoin investments. kindly read carefully before replying to post.

Yeah this is exactly why I was so skeptical about it in the first place. It took me a lot of research with the help of my friend talking me into it, to finally agree to invest my money on Bitcoin. Scammers has made it difficult for so many individuals to invest on crypto currency. They have used different strategies to take money from people using Bitcoin. So the best any body can do is go online learn more about how Bitcoin works so you won’t fall for any of their scam.

Somehow I registed in this forum back in 2014 but I don't remember how I came here an why. Fact is that I was not looking for Bitcoin back then. I suspect I was playing with craacking passwords with graphics cards using a program called hashcat or something like that and maybe that's how I came here via "hashing" related words or some such.
I was then back at the end of 2018 but in this case to the shitcoinery world. Took about 4 to 6 months to see the power of Bitcoin and since then I have been focused solely on Bitcoin and Lightning Network! I'm 100% hodler for now and I'm focusing in my opsec as I like to do pretty much everything by hand (command line, etc) and since probably the start of the pandemics and with the realisation that our privacy has been under attack in multiple fronts, I've been slowly working on de-googling, keeping my data as private as possible, removing account from sites I don't need to avoid targetted ads, always looking to improve my browser's privacy and sometimes anonimity and stuff like that.
I have my own cold wallet made by me using a few tools available on Linux and I'm kinda enjoying the struggles and questions and etc. It's been quite a learning curve since, let's say the end of 2018 (the registration from 2014 doesn't count).

I remember a friend because of your story. He's the only one that has believed to what I've said and up til' now, he's still on it.
He's not a bitcoin maximalists but he's with the market and have chosen a path for altcoins. I can't blame him on that and still given a piece of advice that he should at least own bitcoin.
He's doing good with where he is right now and has made money from altcoins. I guess he really knows what he's doing and I'm proud on him because out of many friends that I've told to be interested in bitcoin and the whole crypto market, he's the only one stayed.

My view is that it's a waste of time. Another important concept I always try to talk about is Time Preference. Time Preference is a measure of how much importance you give to the future compared to the Present. So, the more you prefer the present, means the more you don't mind about the future, therefore you discount a lot of the future and that is said to be a Longer Time Preference. If you care more about the future than the present, then it means you discount less from the future, therefore it's said you have a Low(er) Time Preference. Have you ever watched a video about an experiment made with kids, where a kid is left sit on a chair, in front of a table with like 2 candies, and he/she is said that if he/she can wait like 10 minutes without toutching the candies, they will have twice as much (or maybe more, doesn't matter) candies they can eat! But the trcik is that they are left way longer than the 10 minutes and after that time, some of the kids of the experiment couldn't hold themselves and took the 2 candies, while others were able to hold themselves and wait for the adult with the extra candies. This is Time Preference. The ones that were capable of not having that quick rush of eating the 2 candies right away when the adult left the room, are said to have a Low Time Preference, because they discount very little the importance what the future had for them (the extra candies). The others that preferred the quick rush of eating the 2 candies are said to have Longer Time Preference because they couldn't hold themselves and chose the quick pleasure of those 2 candies! This is one of the most important things about rejecting the quick buck coming from shitcoins in detriment of waht the future may have saved for us, both in terms of what fiat will be and of what Bitcoin will be!

Thanks with that new knowledge and example that you've shared. It's true that time preference is important and we all have also preferences that we can distinguish on our own. But if those people that have been too comfortable and making well with other coins aside from bitcoin, it is them and they're too good with that. Although, we know the importance of having bitcoin and it's really maximizing the potential that it can have in the future and we as holders will be the ones to benefit from it.

That’s how I started my bitcoin journey. How did yours begin?
In 2017, I knew about Bitcoin, how this was very booming at that time, so eager to buy, but at that time, I had no money to buy In 2019, I tried to buy a small amount, but the price at that time the price was dropping. what I did do? I panicked and sell them at a loss, and several times later the price increased again. silly of me, that is because of power of panic In 2020, after learning from previous mistakes, I bought again Bitcoin in small amount, keep them although it experienced several drops, and hold them until the price reached $60k. and I sold them. Yes, I was not a long term holder for several years. And now, it is ongoing to add more because the market is still bearish. Hopefully, I can be one of the truely long term holders of Bitcoin.

How did yours begin?
I started way back 2016 when I was in college. I was looking for some source of income that time to help my studies. I saw a friend of mine earning bitcoin through this forum and asked him how he does it. He taught me how to join in signature campaigns in this forum and that introduced me to cryptocurrencies. After that year, ICOs were very popular. I joined and invested on some bounty campaigns that gives a huge amount of btc if you sold their token rewards. I was just accumulating all of my earnings during those time and not spend it as much as possible because I believe in the potential of bitcoin in the future.

Not fair played but I will say nailed it. It was impressive from ImThour! You are making exact peak and bottom. Most of us don't. Personally when I sell to cash some coin, I find price moves further up after I sell my coin and when I buy then price moves further down LOL. I don't mind it when I buy because I am always in DCA mood but when I need huge cash and after selling I feel disappointed. It happens to me all the time. Most is probably a severe understatement haha. I think only a very lucky few do that, and the majority of us holders probably haven't been lucky enough to hit the peaks (I do know some personally who hit very close to it near the peak so well done too). I don't time my sells anymore really. I just do my selling like my DCA. To pay the bills and forecast expenditure, save as much as possible. P.S. You don't gamble anymore?

How did yours begin?
It is a long journey but can't really explain all. I started hearing about Bitcoin way back 2015/2016 but i never knew how it works though there was no good mentor who is willing to give me a clear view of some narrations. Then i finally met with someone who always talks about it and he introduced me the originate of Bitcoin known to be bitcointalk forum, it was from here i gat to understand lots of things about bitcoin including reading around the forum, asking questions, and also using my searching option to search some meaningful information. As time goes them more i got use of all slangs of bitcoin.
