My story is actually related to yours but let me cut it short. My friend have been telling me about bitcoin during our college days but I was never convinced for once about it not until after school when I finally get to visit him one day at his place. I was amazed to see his house and well furnished interior. I asked him, “how far” what’s the way, I want to learn what you’re doing. I immediately found interest in bitcoin when he told me that’s his source of income even when he was still in school till now. Since then,  I started learning about it and am happy to be here as my understanding about bitcoin broadens more in this platform.

I really thank my friend who introduced me to bitcointalk.org forum when i asked him for jobs online in 2016. Started with signature campaign and bounty campaigns. Then got into trading with the bounty tokens earned. That was the time, current best coins were introduced to the market. Then, invested on few best coins as I had an experience trading with tokens. Lost much but yes obviously learnt much and earned a bit. My friends have got into crypto seeing me earning for past 5 years. An awesome platform.

Those are true Bitcoin lovers they won't regret ever whether the price is on an uptrend or downtrend. Because Bitcoin is always Bitcoin though we always measure with stable coins. Your thought at the beginning is normal. I thought the same at the beginning when some people say to use Bitcoin. I was introduced to Bitcoin where there were revenue-share sites. I will not lie, I had invested rev-share with Payza and PMA. Then I tried Bitcoin and that's how I learned about Bitcoin as well. But I hadn't imagined Bitcoin will be in its current position ever. But thanks to God eventually I was introduced to forum and learned a lot of things about crypto.

I remember a friend because of your story. He's the only one that has believed to what I've said and up til' now, he's still on it.

He's not a bitcoin maximalists but he's with the market and have chosen a path for altcoins. I can't blame him on that and still given a piece of advice that he should at least own bitcoin.

He's doing good with where he is right now and has made money from altcoins. I guess he really knows what he's doing and I'm proud on him because out of many friends that I've told to be interested in bitcoin and the whole crypto market, he's the only one stayed.

My view is that it's a waste of time. Another important concept I always try to talk about is Time Preference. Time Preference is a measure of how much importance you give to the future compared to the Present. So, the more you prefer the present, means the more you don't mind about the future, therefore you discount a lot of the future and that is said to be a Longer Time Preference. If you care more about the future than the present, then it means you discount less from the future, therefore it's said you have a Low(er) Time Preference.

Have you ever watched a video about an experiment made with kids, where a kid is left sit on a chair, in front of a table with like 2 candies, and he/she is said that if he/she can wait like 10 minutes without toutching the candies, they will have twice as much (or maybe more, doesn't matter) candies they can eat! But the trcik is that they are left way longer than the 10 minutes and after that time, some of the kids of the experiment couldn't hold themselves and took the 2 candies, while others were able to  hold themselves and wait for the adult with the extra candies. This is Time Preference. The ones that were capable of not having that quick rush of eating the 2 candies right away when the adult left the room, are said to have a Low Time Preference, because they discount very little the importance what the future had for them (the extra candies). The others that preferred the quick rush of eating the 2 candies are said to have Longer Time Preference because they couldn't hold themselves and chose the quick pleasure of those 2 candies!

This is one of the most important things about rejecting the quick buck coming from shitcoins in detriment of waht the future may have saved for us, both in terms of what fiat will be and of what Bitcoin will be!

It's true that time preference is important and we all have also preferences that we can distinguish on our own. But if those people that have been too comfortable and making well with other coins aside from bitcoin, it is them and they're too good with that.

Although, we know the importance of having bitcoin and it's really maximizing the potential that it can have in the future and we as holders will be the ones to benefit from it.

I tend to focus myself solely in Bitcoin. That's where I put my trust. That's where I see the best properties are, when it comes to defining a sound money. All the properties that makes a means of exchange a soud money are on Bitcoin. Not even gold can gather all these properties! So, when I have contact with a shitcoiner, I always try to share my little knowlege and always try to make them to see the risks of shitcoins. Obvisouly, after that stage, it's on each one's mind to decide what they want to do. It's here when your Time Preference reveals itself!

That’s how I started my bitcoin journey. How did yours begin?

I remember back in 2017 where my friend in college introduced me this forum. At first, I was hesitant to join but when he showed me his actual funds and his bank account, I was convinced that there was something going on with this forum.

As a college student, earning money at the expense of working online is a big deal. Given that I also live in a third world country, competition is tough and any amount of money is seen as a necessity. I quickly learned the nature and foundations of cryptocurrency during the whole year of 2017 and I was able to participate into dozens of campaign signatures.

I was able to earn a hefty sum of BTC and I quickly converted them to cash to purchase some college books and materials. Though I would have profited even more if I HODL my coins, the necessity of my situation compelled me to do such thing and I regretted nothing about it.

There was a lot about bitcoin in the media after the MtGox collapse and bans in China so I looked it up because if governments are banning it and people think it's in a bear market this might be the thing to get involved with. I went through all the stages. Tried cloud mining, trading, gambling, investing, staking, you name it. After all of it, buying and holding bitcoin is the way to go. I still hold some of those cheap bitcoins that I got for a few hundred $.

In fact, I have been working on Bitcoin since 2013. I have been investing in bitcoin ever since. But if I had some profit, I would sell my bitcoin.That's how I'm investing. A lot of the time there is a loss but nothing seems to happen because cryptocurrency investing makes people very patient.I have lost a lot of money in life again. There were a lot of coins that I made the biggest mistake of my life by not selling And there were many more coins that I made a mistake in selling.Anyway, I am living a happy life with a lot of smiles.

Mine was just a random search on the internet some years ago and it took me some time to learn all the basics and other stuff before finally starting my investment let me tell you, it was not successful at first because I invested in some scam cloud mining site which closed after a few weeks of payout. Back then scammers are using cloud mining as bait, right now they using what they see as a trend to hook up people's money and lure them with sweet words. That's why when you first try to invest, make to spend some money that are not really important and make it minimal to avoid big losses.

All I can say is, the people who bought the price of bitcoin dropped by 100 $ and they held on for a long time and they sold for 60k $ plus each they were very lucky because of the size of their earnings, and now that he has fallen really low more than 20k $ which is also great qng chances to bounce back again to the original or more can happen.

so even if I don't have to buy a Bitcoin, how much I have in my pocket is all I bought and held and I just waited for him to rise so that at least I can get a profit no matter what.

It is a fact that I find quite coincidental that most of us who are entering the market, holding bitcoins know bitcoin and very few people accept to learn bitcoin when it is first introduced. Most of us start to learn and invest in it when someone mentions it a second, a third time.

Whether you learn about bitcoin through social media, advertising, or from friends, we owe them a big thank you. It took a long deliberation to do it until we really believe in bitcoin and understand it well, after that we study and look for the best information to accept friends' decisions.
It also took me a year to decide whether to consider getting involved in bitcoin after I studied and understood it well and was also helped by some of my friends who have been involved with bitcoin for a long time and in this forum, and furthermore this forum provides more useful lessons and also very good about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and what's more surprising apart from me investing myself I can earn bitcoins for free by joining a signature campaign or other which I think is the best experience to date that I have never had before.

This is something that confuses the people that are entering the market for the first time, on the surface investing seems like something incredibly easy to do as you only need to buy when the price is at a low level and then sell it for a higher price.

And even if their superficial explanation is correct what they do not see is everything that goes behind the decisions to enter and exit the market, this means that when those people finally decide to enter the market they get confused as it is way harder than what they imagined to earn any money, but by the time they realize their mistake they have lost so much money that it does not matter how good they may get at trading in the future as it is almost impossible they are ever going to recover all the money they have lost already.

I was also very curious and wanted to learn everything in this market. Since then, I have been trading bitcoin regularly. I never left this market. But he is actually right. Before this crash there was one in June 2021, which dropped BTC from almost 59,000$ (still in May) to 29,000$ (in June), then bitcoin recovered to 67,000$ in November, but from that moment on the price is continuously crashing. Right now we are at 19,000$ price range, so it's indeed the worse dump since he started investing in 2018, although it's not the lowest price, as bitcoin hit 3000$ on that year.

I discovered bitcoin almost in 2018, it was at the end of 2017 and I did not know much, I know that many told me that what the future was going to have was a single money and through a currency, I imagined that it was a digital dollar or something that it came from the USA, because for me that is the country that has the best economy, well it had a better economy, things are already changing but they do not want to lose their power, since 2017 I have been trying to save to have more and more satoshis until you reach 1 bitcoin.
