I decided to not post the exchange name so that no one will click it and save it to there history. It will be my conscience if someone mistakenly register on it due to this post so I preferred not to brought up here the name.
The warning on this type of scammer would eventually be good if youll expose a full details especially the name. I mean its not like you are accusing them, but since your post almost says they are scam then might as well warn others 100% by giving its name, you are already helping a lot of members to avoid such exchange. I dont know but thats my opinion. Its like were hanging by a cliff with without the name. Or might as well open a scam accusation thread about them.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

It is a good practice
  • Avoid posting links of scam projects, scam websites or exchanges.
  • Instead, you can put it into code block or something like exchangeA[dot]com.

Another thing is your message should be clear, from your topic title to your topic content. So readers won't misunderstand what you imply. Writing is an art and if you have good writing skills, you can convey your idea to text much better.

The warning on this type of scammer would eventually be good if youll expose a full details especially the name. I mean its not like you are accusing them, but since your post almost says they are scam then might as well warn others 100% by giving its name, you are already helping a lot of members to avoid such exchange.
OP meant scammers try to direct potential victims to an exchange to scam them. It does not mean that exchange is used for that scam is a scam exchange.

Yes I understand that. But why OP is hesitant using the connect wallet right? If the exchange isnt a scam then its fine right? Also the scammer didnt ask anything more valuable to the users which means how would he get scam? Meaning he also believe that the exchange is either compromise or shady as scam site too. Cause how would the scammer knew anything about his created account without access on the exchange? Just my speculated observation.

Just like what @Rikafip said, There’s no option in telegram to report the user if he directly message you. It’s only possible if he spam on the group. I just block him and create this post instead to help warn user.

It's no secret that Telegram is a paradise for scammers, but I have to admit that I didn't know that it was impossible to report an individual (direct via app) who is more than obviously engaged in criminal activities. This is just one more reason to warn everyone, especially the inexperienced ones, about all the dangers that await them if they use such apps.

However, it is possible to report an individual user directly to Telegram by sending them an e-mail with as much information as possible. It would be better if it could be done directly from the app, but it's still good to have such an option.

Address the email to abuse@telegram.org. Type in why you want to report that user in the message section. Make the message as long as possible with many details. Consider taking a screenshot of your chat with that person and adding it to the email as an attachment.

I have also received such kind of scam attempt message on Telegram.

I believe this is how yours happened too and even if it's not others can learn from mine as well.

Note: I didn't fall victim of the scam too

Not exactly like this but there’s a similarity, The guy who contact reasoned out about IRS because he don’t want report his funds in that particular exchange that’s why he will internally transfer the money on the exchange to avoid tax then give me part of the savings in tax. But the end situation of the story is same in both our case. I believe these hackers is operating in group and sending random PM’s with different story.

Those scammers are getting more clever as time passes it seems.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Telegram is certainly a wild west when come to scammers, they roam freely there, I cannot join a legitimate crypto group without getting some of this guys sending me PM's.  Roll Eyes

I have reached a point whenever I receive a "Hello" from some stranger I immediately block them, I used to try and make them lose time, play along a bit so I can discover their modus operandi, which always ended up being the same, either a super business opportunity I should not miss or someone needing/offering help.  Roll Eyes

A bunch of losers.

True! This is why I do have separate telegram account for cryptocurrency, I created a separate one to filter out those spam messages. Telegram is a hotspot for scammers, I wonder if anyone fallen for this newer scheme of scamming. It's been a practice of mine not to tell anyone about my telegram that I'm using on crypto so any messages I will receive in my account is I consider them scammers since I don't interact that much on my telegram groups. I've seen many schemes over years and this scheme is relatively new to me. Scammers are evolving in different ways.
