Shiba Inu, Dogecoin Accepted for Payment by Food Delivery Company Uber Eats !

Shiba Inu and Dogecoin holders can now pay for Uber Eats food deliveries with their cryptocurrencies via BitPay.

Other cryptocurrencies supported by BitPay include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, XRP, Dai, Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and stablecoins.

According to a blog post by BitPay, since Uber Eats does not yet accept direct cryptocurrency payments, this method of payment is exclusive to BitPay gift cards and BitPay cards. Alternative payment methods include BitPay partner Menufy, which accepts payments from cryptocurrency wallets for takeout or delivery from regional or national restaurant chains.

Food delivery companies such as DoorDash and GrubHub, as well as takeout restaurants such as Grill, Chili's, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Steak 'n Shake and many more, are accepting crypto via BitPay.

This is absolutely a positive news although in this bearish market I don't think this news will be enough to leave a good impact on Doge coin and SHIB nevertheless this decision of Uber Eats company has increased the strength of Doge coin and SHIB which may be worthy for its future progress anyway the time will tell how beneficial is going to be this decision of Uber Eats.

Right, you have to justify at least somehow the popularity of these shitcoins in the market, which are parasitic on speculation and taking money from gullible investors who believe that these projects will be worth $5-10 in the future. It's not quite clear why these food deliverers have started accepting coins as payment that have no bottom and can fall indefinitely, because they are just meme coins, without any utilitarian properties or deflationary model. In my opinion, accepting such coins as payment carries additional risks for business.

I think this time the went towards accepting the top two memecoin and that is Dogecoin and shiba inu, I haven’t really used Bitpay and I can not vouch for them on how credible they are but if it’s through they do have some impressive stacks of Crypto-currency payment options and adding this two just tops it up, but if you aren’t used to them or haven’t used them always make sure to do your research on it’s credibility.

That's good for those who want to spend their meme coins for food deliveries. I even used bitcoin before and sometimes still use it for the same use.
A third party that makes us spend for this feature is actually good. They're making our lives easier and spending cryptos very much easy. Those companies that are scared to adopt crypto for payments into their products or services, they can use third parties like Bitpay.

Third-party cryptocurrency payments/gateway has always been in the business of easily and quickly integrating business across many sectors, while also may give the client easy finance/tax reporting purposes, they also give a direct conversion onto a local currency that the business chooses.

The thing is some business aren't want to deal with the volatility of cryptocurrencies or legal hassle, and that is the price they willing to take instead of running their own payment services.

Anything about possible RL usage of cryptocurrency whether it is a serious project or a meme cryptocurrency is a piece of positive news that may contribute to the positive sentiment of the market.  Though it is obviously a business move by Bitpay by taking advantage of the popularity of these two meme coins/tokens and tap their holder to use their service in order to have access to possible real-life utility.  A win-win move by Bitpay both for their company and Shiba Inu and Dogecoin market.

Well it is definitely always a good news if a cryptocurrency is accepted as a payment for a service that is relatively well known. I think that a few years ago like in 2017 or so news like this would be a pretty big thing but nowadays crypto is already pretty mainstream in my opinion and news like that are really nothing special anymore. Also the current bear market is dominating everything and this is another reason why i think that this news will probably not have much impact on the price of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
In the end those two are just useless meme-coins anyway and the long term trend for those two coins is downwards in my opinion.

what i like about here is that doge or shib is getting the interest of merchants to be accepted as one of the payment methods in their system. at least adding some value to their existence. because most holders are just holding it for the purpose of possible profit in the future. if they will gain more interest from the community, much better. because it will add more value to its market and will give solid reason of their existence in this community.

I guess the more options the better? But if they have supported other coins already, why add a meme or shitcoin? Weird. Anyhow, not sure if this is going to be good for both coins, yes they enjoy the support nevertheless a smart investors knows how to play both or not invest them at all.

No doubt. Being adopted by the third party service is the only way for crypto to be accepted into the retail company in our real life. There was no way for crypto other than helped by the third party to create a bridge where people can actively spending their crypto for something in our real life but this has no impact to the price of the shiba inu and doge coin. Whether we like it or not, mega popular meme coins still have value and a large userbase who might be interested in spending their shitcoins whenever prices skyrocket again, and some companies don't want to miss out on adding another revenue stream. Personally, I know some people who were holding Doge for years and as soon as their bags of memecoins started going up they went on a crazy shopping spree in stores that had implemented bitpay and coingate (another crypto payment gateway).

About the risk for businesses, yeah it's always there, but Bitpay converts to fiat currency on a daily basis so, as long as the companies understand the high volatility of the market and opt in for settlements in local currency every day, they should be good.

I think most of the coins were created one way or another without any real purpose. The purpose is how can these assets be used to make money through trade?. The hype is still based on memes. There are those who expect their prices to rise in the future. The truth is that if there was an actual use of these memes, their spread would be terrible.

DOGE, unlike Shiba inu, has always had a utilitarian function as a quick and cheap way to transfer value between exchange-traded wallets, so holding DOGE made sense, but the coin has gone up in price not because of this use of the coin, but because of speculative tweets by Elon Musk. In general, meme koins perfectly reflect the essence of the altcoin industry. It doesn't matter that the coin has no utility, what matters is that it can be used to speculate as long as possible.

Considering their total supply, I believe they will remain as a meme token and this kind of adoption is not that big. Using this as a mode of payment doesn’t gives us the good updates, if SHIB and DOGE will burn their total supply then we might be able to see them rising again. This is the top two meme tokens, its good to see them still active in the market, just be careful with the hype.

These tokens has been accepted by many business and yet, their price didn’t pump that much aside from being a meme token, their supply is huge so its really impossible for them to pump that much because if they do, for sure they can beat Bitcoin. This might be another attempt to hype meme tokens again, but for me they are done already because we are moving on into a new trend which is the NFTs. Be careful with meme tokens, mostly they are only moving because of the hype, and later on will dump again.

I think it depends on how many people use this meme coin to make purchases at Bitpay, then to that extent the company will keep the coins for use as transactions. Regarding the definition of a coin, the company may already know this, it's just that the popularity of meme makes an exception, this is indeed good news for them to spend their meme assets directly with full when they are lucky on investment.
