I have been tasked with updating the page that you have for Aventus as all the information contained on there is out dated.

We either need permission to delete the page or to to update the page. The staff member who created this page on behalf of Aventus is no longer in their employ.

This is really urgent and I have been battling to make contact with anyone in your organization who is able to assist me.

Do you mean this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1955231.0? It was already locked and the only thing you can do right now if you don’t have the control to that account is to create a new Announcement thread for the same project since the old one is already locked. There’s no way an admin will help you to access an account without any proof. Only sign message use by that Bitcointalk account is the only way to prove ownership here.

It’s unusual for your company to not get the Bitcointalk account credentials to your employee that creates the account though.

If the old thread have been locked and the @OP already inactive since 2018, so I guess there's nothing will harm your project. You can start create new thread and you're become the thread starter, AFAIK there's nothing wrong to create another thread. Although forum doesn't allow duplicate thread, but if the previous thread have been locked, it's fine.

I highly doubt that's going to happen if you can't prove ownership of the account. Bitcointalk is all about freedom, not about censorship. And I've never seen someone get edit privileges for someone else's topic.

That’s not the only thread created by that account though. The referenced thread died away and was locked (likely by its OP), and activity moved away to this other thread, which eventually got locked for incentivising people to post on the thread. There is nevertheless a subsequent thread still open in its respective Ann section. The user is not banned, so he could come back to the account at any time if he wishes to.

I highly doubt that's going to happen if you can't prove ownership of the account.

I guess and we know that there will be nothing happen on the locked threads if he cant prove it !

The last time the Account was active was 4 years ago.
As Apocollapse has already written the best option and solution for you is to start a new Topic with links to the old ones .
With that its helpfull and Users can see that its not a fake thread or something else.

I also dont think that the Account will change hands when there is or was no contract with Aventus and the Account owner of aventus

OP is unlikely to get any solution but your recommendation is not also the one. That guy who is inactive may come someday later and unlock their thread and claim as the real owner of the project/thread. That makes sense but yeah, that's the best OP can do now, creating new thread.

The forum won't allow you to take control of the thread that hasn't been created by you. Who created the account is the owner of the account here, doesn't matter if he belongs to your company. If he used company mail during account creation then take over the email account and reset the password. If he has used his personal mail then you can't reset the password. You have to create a new announcement, no more alternatives.

Bitcointalk is not an organization, and it tries to be as private and anonymous as possible. This means that the admins do not "have" a page for aventus or any other project and cannot update it or give anyone else besides the thread starter access to edit that thread.

Open a new thread as suggested. If you want to try avoiding confusion, you can also drop a neutral feedback on the previous account, linking to the active profile and thread for the said project.
And this time let it be done professionally, to allow easy transfer of ownership.

The only realistic job I can imagine now is to create a new announcement and link the old locked thread. People will be able to see the old ANN. You can write a little explanation.

As you already know now, without providing proof of ownership you can not recover the account.

As said, this is not how this forum works. What if I create a new account claiming that I am from your company and I must do updates or deletion?
Admit the fact your company was sloppy in handling that account, make a new one for the company and be more careful. And yes, make a completely new announcement.

You have no means to correctly prove ownership on that account, hence continuing on this path will just waste your time.

It seems after OP created this thread, he or she went offline and as such, is yet to view all the helpful replies you guys have provided.

Well, its important that OP gets to understand that, the admins can't afford to help him take over someone else's intellectual property even if it was based on a contract that originates from him or her. It doesn't matter if the claims are true or not. The deals to the agreement and matters that might have transpired to have resulted in the locking of the thread is unknown, the forum ensures every user is at the top of their affairs by ensuring privacy and as such, OP is better off creating another ANN thread.

In fact, your better of @OP with creating another thread and you could make reference to the formal if its of importance that you let the community know of your site to have been in existence long ago, on and off forum. That way, you become the master of all that concerns you without having a third party to it.

As others have already pointed out that there's no way you are having the access of that account without signing the message and thread is also locked by your employee who was managing the account here on the forum.

But my question is if you have not made updations in five years what's now? If the employee is no longer with your company you have not taken the account access from him? Have you tried contacting anyone on the forum before through PM as you said trying to contact someone from here?

So the best way is to make the new announcement thread only as you have no option to have that account back and this is forum safety rule like assume it you have to prove ownership of the account you want back.

That old aventus account is inactive for more that four years, and I honestly think that nobody cares what happens with him even if he comes back.
You can't update old locked topic but you can create new one, and you can post evidence that you are part of the same team.

This sounds sketchy... why would you want to delete that ANN topic with all posts inside, are you trying to hide something urgently?
Topics are deleted only in rear cases when there is some spamming, malware links or other kind of abuse, none of that is the case with your old topic.

Well this became the case for me from the responses have read and to further clarify myself on the development I went for a little findings and this is what I found.

This extension was one of the original domains established in 1985, and is therefore perceived as stronger and more credible than newer alternatives.

Looking at that the above quote, you can agree with me that the forum has got far enough attributes to fit in the classifications given as an organization according to this findings. Bitcointalk remains a non-profit organization but individuals and firms alike could run profit oriented activities on it. Good one bitcointalk.

You can't update old locked topic but you can create new one, and you can post evidence that you are part of the same team.

Even if the account where to be active, the only means of running updates or deleting the thread is assuming ownership of the formal account and that's exactly what the forum can't help you do. The forum can't help you hack into someone else's user because you had contracts with the user.

You can still have access to the account despite he's not active.
The email used in creating the thread account is from your company
info@aventus.io
Now you can request to change the thread password.
The password can be reset. And new one can be sent to your email. Once you have access you can edit or delete anything you want.
I created an account for a company details and the email used was for the company. Still I can have access to the company account but once the company request to change password automatically I will lost access to the account since I don't access to the email logins.
