Hi, I need source code of any costume firmware like hive(mskminer) , vnish or any other firmware for L3+ and S9
does anyone have any of them ?
I wanna recompile and recode it for myself and learn how they work. I want to recode it from scratch in c or py but I need the source code to learn and knowing how they work .
regards.

You can use Braiins OS immediately with S9 (including S9j and S9i), but for any other miners you would need to add the support yourself. Braiins OS community edition was released using a Free Open Source license, feel free to use, change and redistribute or fork following the FOSS rules.

Thank you for your answers, actually I did search on github before this post. As you can see braiinos shares old firmware and didnt share their new firmware . Hiveos shares just their hiveos not asic firmware exactly

There are only TWO asic mining software: cgminer and bosminer, take your pick, both projects are Free and Open Source Software. If a manufacturer changes it, for example to support their chips, and redistribute it publicly, for example in a control board with their asic miner; they are in the obligation to release the source code. Failing to do so, terminates the license, and becomes illegal (" pirate") software. In the case of bosminer, a manufacturer could approach Braiins and negotiate a different license but for cgminer, this is apparently not possible since the 3 authors are either unwilling or unavailable anymore. So, ask Bitmain for the source code, they are obligated by copyright law to give it to you. If they ignore you and you are American, feel free to contact the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Free Software Foundation, they might provide assistance. I believe Bitmain did release code for the S9, so you would need to ask for the L3+. PS: I don't see what you need about Braiins OS with a newer version, it already supports the S9 in the community edition.

FUD makes you look bad - don't do it. cgminer is opensource and will stay that way since the number of developers of it are quite numerous. It was also originally built off Jeff Garzik's cpu miner as my git clearly shows. commit 9bc3649e9190a7ba847d56ffeab1cbbae4481f2c Author: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org> Date: Tue Nov 23 23:43:45 2010 -0500
Add README and license info.
commit 9599867d8b9ddd909ea3dc37679b34cab5de5674 Author: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org> Date: Tue Nov 23 23:33:20 2010 -0500
Initial revision of CPU miner. NOTE: non-functional (incorrectly thinks it finds solution, too quickly)
The fact that you closed the source on your miner would mean that every person involved, in every line of it's open source development, must have agreed to close source the miner. Doesn't really sound all that good actually that they all agreed to do that ... A closed source miner that sends hidden encrypted data to slush no matter what pool you mine on ...

A closed source miner that sends hidden encrypted data to slush no matter what pool you mine on ...
By "encrypted data to slush" do you mean something else other than the firmware fees? I am not sure how you got to that conclusion, did you test it yourself? I am not defending them, but this is a serious claim, if the firmware establishes a stratum connection for x amount of time to collect fees, that's fine and expected, if it's something else, that's pretty terrible.

It does as I said. What data it sends? - even you don't know. It's encrypted by a closed source miner so you can't verify what data it sends, nor even what fee it charges. Slush has a history of doing bad by it's miners on the pool, so I'm not sure why you assume they only have the best intentions for everyone when you can't verify that at all. Why close source the miner? It doesn't do anything special, anyone interested in working on miner drivers can make cgminer do what they do. So what are they hiding? Alas since it's closed source there is no verifiable answer to that.

You seem to have quoted the wrong post, not sure why are you referring to "me" as I have not mentioned anything about whatever you are saying here, I am not associated with Slush and I don't even use their firmware. It doesn't do anything special, anyone interested in working on miner drivers can make cgminer do what they do.
Custom firmware including BO+ do a lot more than the basic version of Cgminer, I run enough miners to know that, it's up to you to deny it, but there is a reason why many of us use custom firmware, if you want to provide a free and open-source version that has all the additions that we miners pay a fee for, I will be the first one to use it and to donate for such a project.

Are you pretending to be a noob? I didn't say anything incorrect, in fact it comes from you (you really love the drama, don't you? Attention seeker?) The only one looking bad is you when you open your mouth. You have still not retracted from your LIE to the community regarding that asic reseller, with plenty of evidence you still look the other way and pretend you did not lie when you did. BOSminer+ belongs to Braiins in its entirety. BOSminer OBVIOUSLY can be dual licensed like SEVERAL open source projects do. Nobody is forcing you to use the + version, you lied for years about the "can't find blocks" thing as well. Your passive attitude with the industry infringing cgminer is baffling to say the least, its like you don't even care. If somebody adds code to the community edition and this change gets into the + version, then it would as you say: everyone would need to agree. Take a look at github and spot any code accepted contributions. In any case Braiins did separate both codes before such a thing happened since the beginning. Since you are not providing a complete solution, the only way to run an S9 without infringing cgminer is Braiins OS. This is a FACT, Bitmain provided firmware, which you do not ban from your pool, INFRINGES cgminer. Its literally pirate software and you even took part of it when you accepted a commission from them. The other two authors have a problem with you for good reason. If there were some other minor contributions from others, then add those as well. Kano is seen publicly here asking for the source to fw modders, but Kano is not seen asking the large Chinese manufacturers to do the same, after the S9. Why have YOU not asked them to release the code where they added support to the newer chips to cgminer? How exactly did you got the specs for BM1397? So before pointing at others, point at yourself first and foremost.

I asked this question a few times before but he usually gets aggressive and avoid answering, I do respect Kano's decision not allowing custom firmware that either 1- violate Cgminer license 2- has no proof of finding blocks to mine to his pool, that's a great moral to have enforced, but he is cherry-picking all the stuff he wants, if he was genuine he would ban every other Bitmain miner except S9 and older models, did Bitmain provide the source code for the S19j pro firmware? does Kano has any proof of it finding any blocks, so why let Bitmain slide but not the others? You have still not retracted from your LIE to the community regarding that asic reseller, with plenty of evidence you still look the other way and pretend you did not lie when you did. Any links to the story?

Lol - all it does is adjust chip frequencies and allow no fan. The opensource code I added to cgminer already has all the commands necessary to deal with chip frequency for the BM1397 and a proper mathematical method of handling that.

That is what the free basic Braiins firmware do, even some of the stock firmware allow you to adjust the frequency and voltage, you can get fan simulators to bypass the fan check. However, that is not what custom firmware does, as I said, it does a lot more, you can do your own research i won't be listing all the features for you here.

The important thing is that its not cgminer, everything was re-implemented independently in bosminer by Braiins.
Nothing stops Kano from picking Openwrt and use his oh so glorious cgminer, or even use the Braiins OS community edition with cgminer, but he is too busy writing nonsense in forums, Discord must be boring...

Not sure how 'independent' reading someone else's code, and then writing your own version, in another language is though

I don't think there are too many ways to mine Bitcoin, seems to require the same computation. And in the end, its the ASICs doing it...
