New to Nano X Ledger and might have loss a transfer. Help please ?

After the whole Voyager debacle I decided to buy a Nano X(connected through Ledger Live) and transfer all my Crypto over. Started this process a few days ago and was very easy from sending from Coinbase, Gemini and Uphold. Everything went through. I believe I messed up sending Mana from Crypto.com. I def put the right address but on Crypto.com when you transfer they ask for network type and I put Cronos by mistake (after the fact) I understand now I was supposed to select ERC20. So it has been 2 days and don't have on wallet nor back on Crypto.com. Am I completely beat? I had the correct wallet address but what can I do, any way I can recover my Mana? I am still somewhat a novice to Crypto world and would appreciate any feedback at all to direct me if there is any steps I can take to recover this Mana? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Crypto.com really can't do nothing and I can't get any support on Ledger Live.

Im not into shitcoins so i cant fully help you. However from what ive read is that cronos is a different chain, so you probably sent them to the wrong network. You can use some block explorer to check where they went, but if you dont have the keys to them, i dont think they can be recovered. If you generated the address from an ethereum account in ledger, i dont think you have the private keys on chronos.

If theyre on the wrong network, you should be able to type in the address here and see your coins, so atleast you know where they landed.

Sending ERC20 tokens from an exchange
When you send ERC20 tokens from an exchange, make sure to select the ERC20 network type. Network types other than ERC20 are not supported in Ledger Live. If you use another network type to send ERC20 tokens, your tokens will not appear in Ledger Live and you may risk losing them.

Pretty dumb move, however the eth address seed would be the same as the cronos network seed. If you have access to the wallet uou sent it to, simply program the cronos network into meta mask, send some cro for gas and send the eth back

There might be some hope, check out this thread, there is some way to recover it trough metamask or something.

You have to look if the transfer was initiated. The exchange should have given you a tx id. And you have to check on what network was the transfer done. Each blockchain is different, you can see it like a different universe.
If your coins were still sent on ETH blockchain (ethplorer.io, etherscan.io), you may have a chance. If it's on a different blockchain I don't know.

Disclaimer: I'm not in shitcoins either (at least not for years), nor crypto.com. I've used Ledger Nano S with some tokens long time ago though.

First connect metamask to your ledger. Like here:

Then you should be able to access the cronos network with the ethereum seed of your ledger.

Try this and lets see if it will give you access to the coins. Im guessing here now too, never used metamask or cronos.

Maybe they generate the same seeds and you can already simply access them from your ledger by downloading the chronos app on it.

And then just go on ledger live and create a cronos account, then they should be there, if the seed is correct. (If youre using a passphrase use the same passphrase you created the ethereum account with when creating the cronos account)

You shouldn't import your Ledger-generated seed into a hot wallet such as MetaMask to recover your MANA because you will be risking all your other assets as well. Especially if you have Bitcoin and some other alts of a significant value. Using that seed with MetaMask doesn't make it secure anymore.

I would move all my other crypto assets into different wallets generated from brand new seeds. After that, you can think about importing that seed into a hot wallet. If you mess up or get phished, the worse that can happen is you losing your MANA instead of MANA and everything else.

The seed will never leave the ledger otherwise, i wouldnt have suggested it. Metamask has native integration to work with hardware wallets. But he should try not going this route first, and try out option 2.

It is just sitting there lol, I have not attempted to recover because I am pondering is it worth it to put everything else at risk??? I don't think so, it's only 500 shares of Mana and it's the least value of crypto I had so if it was going to happen to anything it might as well been the Mana, don't want to put my rest at risk. Just feels like I loss about $500 because I was a bonehead rushing on this one (with everything else I took my time) Once again thanks for you help, was greatly appreciated

Just go on ledger live.

• Download the chronos app onto your ledger.
• Then create a chronos account and check the balance.

You might be lucky and the seed is correct and you can get your 500$ back, this is literally risk free to do and something your ledger is built for. No third party software needed. All original ledger processes. Then just send the chronos back to the exchange and send your ethereum back to the ledger(this time as erc20 and a new correct address from an ethereum account on your ledger live), after this you can uninstall the chronos app again.

Thanks, i wasnt sure how it works between different evm chains, as i never used them. But i just checked, on Ledger Live:

Ethereum uses "44'/60'/0'/0/0"
Cronos uses "44'/394'/0'/0/0"

So what about the metamask method the ethereum guys suggested?

It’s not just advisable, but necessary if he ever types in his seed somewhere, that he has withdrawn every coin beforehand and never uses this seed again in the future. Just to make it more clear for a newbie.

I didn't work with metamask, but if ledger connected to metamask allows to use derivation path: 44'/60'/0'/0/0 along with cronos network, it might work. Need to try.

You have to understand and especially use a secure environment (eg. a non-persistant TAILS boot stick) to play with the offline version of the Ian Coleman script https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ when you expose your Mnemonic Seed words to dig out some private key for a specific derivation path und such more.

There's a lot that can go wrong here if a user doesn't fully understand what he's doing with such tools and in which security environment it's done.
