However, I doubt that Campa can do the same, as others have been saying, this is a fight that is custom for Lopez. To look like he is a puncher at this division.

So I would agree that this is a cherry pick fight for Lopez entering a new territory at 140 lbs. So no more big fights for Haney or Davis at 135 lbs. Although we have seen Davis fight at this division already and winning a belt against a weak champion. Good for Lopez if he can win this fight and then call the other champion and established himself again.

But he is fighting just a B-level here, so not sure if this is good for his resume. So far the champion here is Josh Taylor but it seems he vacated the WBC and WBA belt.

Taylor doesn't want to defend his belt his WBA belt against Puello, so there might be a fight for the vacant belt, Puello vs the number 2 seed boxer.

Same with the WBC belt,  Zepeda vs Ramirez so this is going to be an interesting fight, as this is a rematch. So not sure if Lopez can stand with those names in this division.

IMO, he could have won his previous fight if he was patient, what happened is he underestimated Kambasos, that's why he lose focus as he want to end the fight righ away.

Did you check though who he has fought? I mean did someone right a bell to you? He might have a lot of fights no doubt, but the resume speaks for itself. We can argue that Lopez beat Loma because he is injured, but still that is a good name in his resume.

As compare to Campa who we haven't heard or even fighting top guys in this division. And probably this is one reason why they choose him as a start up fight for Teo Lopez. In paper he might be very good because of the number of fights he had. But it's all B level fighter.

As much as most of us hate a big mouth athlete. I'm kind of okay with Lopez choosing Campa as his first fight in super-lightweight and kind of return bout after his loss to Kambosos. Earlier, undisputed champion Josh Taylor mentioned he will move up in welterweight, thus all 4 belts will become vacant. Teofimo was surprised no one from these 4 sanctioning bodies ranked him 1 or 2, so he can just fight for a vacant belt. Now, Josh Taylor wanted a rematch with Jack Catterall before finally settling into another division.

Here are the current ranks in the super-lightweight division. I'm surprised Campa is unranked. If we look at Campa's record, I can recognize world-ranked contenders Aaron Herrera, ex-champ Jose Alfaro, and Marvin Quintero. He probably entered the top 10 during those years. But after that 2017 upset loss, he was fighting nobodies. Teofimo should stop expecting high gains from this fight. Although knowing Teofimo's popular name, these 4 sanctioning bodies might improve his ranking soon, especially the WBO, a close organization with Top Rank.

The best scenario for Teofimo to fight for a vacant belt here is the WBO. Jose Ramirez might accept a rematch with heavy-hitter Jose Zepeda for the vacant WBC. And most likely Catterall loses his rematch with Josh Taylor and will lose his rank. Now Teofimo can fight Liam Paro for the vacant WBO. Although I'm still hoping for Jose Ramirez to abandon the WBC and just wait after the Taylor-Catterall fight, so he can fight Liam Paro. Well, I'm sure he has a lot of haters when he disrespected Loma, but he did his homework, he beat Loma and that made him popular.

Actually, if we compare Loma to Kambasos, Loma is way better than him, but Lopez pulls up an upset against Loma. Anyway, that's already over, it happened in the past, so let's focus on the current fight of Lopez against Pedro Campa who is a huge underdog in this fight.
