Mining now will not give you a good profit because the valie of the token you are mining is decreasing. You will only have profit of you hold your mine tokens and sold once the price pump once again.

Competition decrease during bear season since many retail miner stops mining so its really good to mine altcoins for accumulation purposes but not to have an income for the present stage.

It's hard to help you if you don't provide more details about electricity rates, your equipment, how many GPUs or rigs do you have?
And how about your capital etc...?

Being generic, this time is good to buy coins directly, doing DCA, you buy coins when they are in a crash or prices like this, you don't buy when BTC hits 60k USD...

Mining brings little income, the payback for ASICs and video cards is high, and when Ethereum mining ends, it will be even worse. If you have inexpensive electricity, then you might consider mining. But now there is no need to rush to buy mining equipment, because it will cost even less.

Passive income seems to be the lure that shitcoins are using these days to get your money.  They promise massive interest on coins in order to get your money, but a 50% interest rate doesn't do much when the coin is crashing.  So many people see a yield and throw in their money without even knowing where the yield is coming from.  9 times out of 10, they're just dumping their coins on you in the form of yield while they already got your money when you bought in.  I know Bitcoin is boring because there's no yield, but eventually when you've figured out that YOU are the yield, you will smarten up and look for a strong currency instead of a big yield.

Price can be $20K then or maybe $15K. Most of the market bottoms were during periods of extreme chop and most gave up out of foredom.

There is more profit in mining. Even now there is equipment with a payback of 6 months, even in the worst case scenario it is 12-15 months. This is better than mining unknown shitcoins, the price of which is unstable and can nullify all your profit.

I also think the market will go sideways and miners will have a stable profit for at least till the end of this quarter. But that may change because of the migration of ETH to PoS and ditching PoW right around August/September.
Maybe we would see ETH price against the trend coming out from it? Alternative coins to be a replacement for ETH PoW are also an interesting change in that sideways market. Won't be too boring at least for the miners, see?

Even with ETH 600 USD you would make a great profit  , but the point is, it's better to do DCA than try to catch the exact bottom

Yes but the difference in profit is mind blowing, I bought for 80 - 100 usd and sold for 1500 usd, that is almost 20x profit, if I had bought for $600, I would have sold for the same 1500 usd, so it would have been only almost 3x.

Sure there are plenty of POW coins to mine. However go look up the profitability of most of those coins. You will find it to be awful.

Just because it’s mineable doesn’t mean it’ll be profitable. The miner supply is very small and every miner wants a cut of it. And if the coin has a small market cap you are making very little.

You are also competing against those that got free power and will mine pretty much anything.

Simply put, this is a very obscure and sporty list. Coins are mined on ASICs and GPUs, and for many coins I wouldn't buy ASICs in a bear market. Most investment calculations will advise you to buy the coin now rather than mine. I am always for mining, but not for all coins.

This is the question everyone wants answers on.  Just buy crypto, or buy hardware and mine crypto.  In the long run I think mining has worked out but past success doesn't ensure future success.  Just stick by the rule don't put in more than you can lose and you shoukd end up fine on the others ide of the results.  Either way good luck.

Yeah, this time around will be worse than when btc mining went to asic only, actually this eth merger will be the pinnacle of the worst so far in gpu crypo mining. GPU's will crash so hard, even nvidia is scared about it hehe and already said it will delay the 4xxx series.
