That's good because at least, you know how to treat gambling well so you can be careful when playing gambling. The wins and the drive to recover losses sometimes is the driving force. The fun and entertainment is also part of the motivation but the intention to make profit supersedes it. My best win is during the Covid pandemic when lock-down was announced for the following day. There ways no money to stock my house with foodstuffs and other materials. In general, most people start gambling for the first time because of the interest to win prize money. 
and as time goes on gambling activities really trigger adrenaline to do it again and again, especially if you get a big win. at different times sometimes someone gambles just for emotional escape, not just for relaxation or just fun entertainment.  adrenaline, self-satisfaction, escape, fun, entertainment, will change depending on one's mood and become a routine that keeps repeating itself.

It's really annoying and hurting emotionally and mentally when you lose it all and you don't have any way to get it back, especially when the money is not reserved for gambling rather it's for important things that could be used later. I think they did it out of curiosity.
