The thing is that even if gambling is banned in any country there will still be people hosting gambling activities.
So in a way, gambling cannot be banned completely so why not just regulate it in a way that people are restricted from gambling too much.
The same goes for online, there will still be accessible for them with the use of the tools like VPN. A gambler will continue what he has been doing despite the ban and no one will know about it unless there's a tracker that will figure it out who are the citizens that are accessing casinos online and violates the law.

Yeah that's right. Whether it be gambling online or offline at a physical casino, both can still be done with it has been banned by the regulatory authorities.
In fact, there are people who has found a workaround to keep the gambling business running.
In one of the cities in my country they are operating gambling casinos on ships which are on waterbodies since gambling casinos are banned in land area.
Isn't it funny and witty at the same time. Who would have taught that the government would really allow gambling in this way.

Online or offline gambling will never go away even though it is strictly prohibited or whatever, let alone traditional or real gambling because it existed before we were born even before our parents were born.
although it is strictly prohibited and all gambling sites are blocked, there is even a risk of going to jail if caught, online or offline gambling still exists and everyone will do it in any way even if they have to hide. So in my opinion gambling will continue to exist for generations even if it is prohibited or whatever.

its really funny if any gambling site require KYC for their members.  most of gamblers want their identification hidden from any one , so if their gambling platform ask kyc to use services, i am believe most of them prefer find another platform.
Some gambling sites already treat KYC and other platforms will gradually follow the rules of KYC requirements so you have no other choice but to follow the rules, although I also don't agree with KYC but I don't have a solution when your favorite casino also requires identity verification.
there are some areas where the government does force online gambling sites operating under their control to direct their users to KYC

I'm not saying that KYC will always be good, but do KYC on a trusted gambling site, don't go to just any gambling site, especially the new ones, because it's your privacy and a valuable asset for yourself

if indeed your favorite gambling site is already very trusted and has a good reputation, there is nothing wrong with having to follow procedures that must be carried out such as KYC.
because i have a thought maybe some gambling sites require KYC before depositing or withdrawing money from the site just for security from laundering money deposited into gambling sites.
and i also do KYC on several gambling sites that i think have a good reputation

Even the porn industry is just like that. A pop-up question will appear asking "Are you 18 years old or above?" Just click the "Yes" button and voila, you are in. This is where good parenting will come in. Every parent now should know how technology works. It's not like the gambling industry will adjust to how the internet works because anything they do regarding security, there will always be a way for a kid to find his way in.
Then, most gamblers don't want KYC so it's either they lose customers or they will gain more and just forget about being humanitarian.

The pop-up questions aren't in any way beneficial to the users, but rather to the platform itself so that, should anyone or an underage player click/say yes and end up playing and get caught, the casino will not be held liable because they stated there that you should be at least 18 years old before you can play, meaning that you as the player are the one who breaks both the casino's rules and the laws of your country.

If not for the fact that all crypto casinos purported to be provable fair, I don't see the difference between them and non-crypto casinos, after all, what is the point of being crypto if KYC is still required? The very minimum requirement is sufficient to allow you to play any crypto casino and withdraw without any problem.

The casinos are just following the guidelines that's why they are implementing KYC because their license to operate could be on the line if they choose not to do so but sometimes, these KYC procedures are being overused by some casinos because they suddenly ask for verification when we decide to withdraw our winnings when in-fact they could see us making deposits in their platform, it's like that they don't want us to withdraw it and they only want to spend it on the platform.

Nothing wrong with KYC? Really? I could expect opinions like that from average guys on the Internet, but we're on a bitcoin forum where people should value privacy and anonymity.
KYC sucks. If it wasn't enforced nobody would do it. It gives nothing good to the customer and only protects one side, the service provider, and of course the government who wants to know your every move. All the risk of KYC is yours and that's your personal information being leaked out into the world is on you. You're not getting anything in return.

Almost everyone hate KYCing, and if we are told to pass kyc at the time of registration on the casino, I think casinos won't have alot of customers, but unfortunately for us the users, this casinos know how to force kyc upon their users in a manner that the user will have just two choices or options rather ~
  • 1. Pass kyc verification and withdraw your money(winnings) which sometimes are big amount of money which can not be easily forfeited.
  • 2. Refuse to pass kyc and forfeit your money to the casino~which I believe no one has ever done, no matter how they hate to kyc.
This is attitude of requiring kyc only when the user wants to withdraw their money is not peculiar to casinos alone, many cryptocurrency exchanges does same thing.

So it do really ends up that we dont really have any choice but to exchange our personal information for the amount that we are trying to withdraw. Some might just forget it and give importance into their identity but

majority would really be complying just to pull off those money that you had stuck neither on a casino or exchange but we know that there are still casinos out there who doesnt really require kyc whenever before or after making deposits or even withdrawals and no surprise that they are the ones who do get significant number of users on this crypto market because people do really give importance about anonymity.
We do really hate KYC that much but no surprise that sooner or later the application or integration of kyc is always next on line.

Sometimes, it's really much of a hassle when the gambling site or casino asks for KYC another time around during you are withdrawing your funds or winnings. But this is just their precautionary measure to double check whether the withdrawal is made by the account holder himself or another person is withdrawing on his behalf. I think it's good to ask KYC after some time to make sure that you are still the one using the account. That way, you can ensure that your fund will not be lost even if someone get your gambling account because he has to undergo a verification. Because depositing is still different from withdrawing. If they wouldn't follow the protocols intended, they might face punishment and sanctions. It could backfire to them and will make them liable over the incident.

KYC is frowned upon in this forum.  I agree that we are in a forum wherein privacy is the priority but KYC isn't that all bad.  There are some benefits of having KYC for your account.  In case of account loss due to hacking, you can contest the ownership of the account by the KYC document you submitted.  By then, the Casino will identify who is the rightful owner of the account.  It works the same way as signing a message using the staked Bitcoin address in this forum when a dispute about the ownership of the account happens.  But regardless, of whether gambling sites asked for KYC or not, I am not in favor of banning gambling because it gives more than it takes especially when it comes to aiding Government projects and charities.

The thing is that even if gambling is banned in any country there will still be people hosting gambling activities.
So in a way, gambling cannot be banned completely so why not just regulate it in a way that people are restricted from gambling too much.

- That's what I'm wondering mate, why in other countries do they legalize gambling like casinos, then in others, it's illegal instead. If it will help
the country's government, why not regulate it if it will add to the country's economy? Although we know that this is bad in the eyes of children
or young people, all that is needed is to guide them to the right and not to the wrong.

- Then if the acquisition of a gambling site from a KYC gambler can be said if it is okay as long as a gambling platform is regulated in that
country, because if not it seems a bit risky and should not be given.

There are only two possible reasons why I think that the government decide to ban gambling instead of regulating it.
1. The government is too concerned about it's citizens and want to stop as many people as they can to get involved in gambling.
2. The owners of those gambling casinos are not bribing the government enough so the government eventually decide to ban gambling instead.

its really funny if any gambling site require KYC for their members.  most of gamblers want their identification hidden from any one , so if their gambling platform ask kyc to use services, i am believe most of them prefer find another platform.
Some gambling sites already treat KYC and other platforms will gradually follow the rules of KYC requirements so you have no other choice but to follow the rules, although I also don't agree with KYC but I don't have a solution when your favorite casino also requires identity verification.
if indeed your favorite gambling site is already very trusted and has a good reputation, there is nothing wrong with having to follow procedures that must be carried out such as KYC.
because i have a thought maybe some gambling sites require KYC before depositing or withdrawing money from the site just for security from laundering money deposited into gambling sites.
and i also do KYC on several gambling sites that i think have a good reputation

Nothing wrong with KYC? Really? I could expect opinions like that from average guys on the Internet, but we're on a bitcoin forum where people should value privacy and anonymity.

The only reason why government enforce this so that they can see all our moves if in case we are using these platforms to gamble money but for the majority of us here that doesn't do any dark movements, it's somewhat unfair to us because we would want that privacy to be given to us as it is what we wanted in the first place and part of the reasons why we are here.
KYC is never a benefit to us because our privacy is at stake if an unfortunate event happened where the casino we signed up for was hacked.
