I think this to be an isolated case as I know there exist fixed matches but that are not so evident as this one.In fact I have seen where I live now as the capital city has a couple of teams here and all the people were saying this game is going to end like this and this x team will win while I was thinking to myself that these persons are just delusional and crazy.I decided to go to the stadium despite not being a fan of neither of the teams playing.The stronger team was also leading the Championship and the game was for the cup of the country.So the weaker team which was relegated in that season happened to lose 2-0 the same result as they had won the first leg but the team leading the Championship lost so many occasions that I was a bit in doubt.What cleared my doubt were the penalties,they hit like 17-18 penalties before it was settled and the weaker team won and qualified further.All the words I heard were right but very few people were convinced that this was a fixed game as both teams played a much better theater than football.

I really think this damage the trust in the sports bets , or anything related to the sport gambling, i know a lot can say its a kind of protest but still really unclear.

The threat to get into jail is more weighty as we see.

As we can see, its in a league that doesn't even make the sportsbook but never the less, its football and should uphold all the rules by FIFA. Local league or not, its extremely wrong for such to be allowed in a competition and it was so unprofessionally done that even someone without any experience of football would know something to be wrong. We can't find such in UEFA and as such, its got little or no impact on gambling as a whole since, these leagues don't even make the sportsbookies.

But can't be applied to the case shared by OP. The actions there are too obvious in front of the viewers. I didn't even understand where they got the guts to perform like that on National Television. Maybe that league's reputation is already damaged even before as I'm sure it's not the first time that a rigged match happened there. Seems also that all participants in that rigged match are not even worried about the consequences of what they are doing.

If that's the case, and there's no action from the Sports Community or something related to that in their country, the sports there aren't taken seriously. It's a disgrace if the authorities are not doing something actions to bring back the glory of sports there. There might also be politics behind those as to how they can easily do that act. The thread isn't about gambling booking, it is about match-fixing or rigged games that affects the result of sports betting.  And I disagree with you when you say sports betting is all about luck.  Sportsbetting is more on skill-based games wherein your skill of identifying a better team is tested.  With it, you do research on every player, the composition, the performance of the previous matches, the strength and weakness of each team and compare them to others.  But all these factor is negated by match fixing that is why, the thread clearly stated that match fixing is damaging the gambling industry.

Well for now maybe, we know corruption starts from a small occurrence and then grows bit by bit when ignored.  If this kind of event happened in major matches (which probably we won't notice because people in there are better players making rigged matches unnoticed) and got exposed, what do you think will be the reaction of people betting on this kind of events?

Why it shouldn't affect your peace of mind when doing bets? There are lots of reputable big leagues around you can choose from. I can't believed that for just a single or few case, it will broke your spirit on doing sports betting? If there's a confirmed rigged for sure bookies will now delist all matches there until everything was resolved and taken action.

Again, there are lot of big sports leagues around where rigging the game or fixed match don't happened at most of cases. It shouldn't affect your sports betting experience even you mistakenly placed a bet in a supposed rigged match. Just continue to do your usual betting and enjoy the game.

I think that all this is based on the total and cruel injustice that we often experience when watching our favorite sports.
