It seems that scammers develop new methods to perpetrate their act every new day. There's a new scam method going on across many social media platforms and if you use telegram very often, it must have come across your screen in many of the telegram group you belong.

The scammers pretend to be some sort of newbie to crypto and having an issue with sending out funds from their wallet. So they share their secret phrase to a public group where a lot of people can see it including a picture of some USDT(TRC20) to utilize the natural greed instinct of people.
As shown in this picture 👇👇

The purpose of the scam is to make people send some Tron to the wallet hoping they would be able to send out the USDT in the wallet. But the wallet is a multi-signatory wallet meaning all funds sent to it will be automatically transferred to another wallet.

When you come across such post avoid it at all cost, don't ever think you can outsmart the scammer or that you can be fast enough to send out the funds.

It’s not new. I have read such a case back in 2020/21, I can't remember exactly and it will take me long time to find it out. Basically, this method is used to trick the newbie who can't control their greed lol.

I don't think it's a multi-signature wallet, but a normal wallet. This method of scam is dangerous for the scammer, so he tries to scam newbies with it.

As said, it's not an old scamming trick. Maybe you've seen it for the first time but they've been doing that a long time ago and the same goes for those wallets that have tokens in ERC20 and they'll attract people to send ETH on it. For which, they have it on a smart contract and will also automatically send those sent Ethereum on that wallet to their own addresses. That's a trick that will victimize newbies that are greedy, remember that even if we're in the crypto market and there are airdrops and giveaways, do not fall for much for free money.

What hugeblack said. If the wallet was multisig the victim wouldn't even be able to import the wallet and see the funds. The scammer would simply just use scripts/bots to be able to frontrun the victim(which will most likely try to take the funds manually).

And yea, this ain't new either.

And the victims are thieves as well. Instead of trying to steal USDT from the scammer, they should warn him about the risks of sharing the private key.

People fund a wallet to try to steal someone else's money and get robbed. Well deserved.

That seems to be true, even i have made mistakes myself. Because my private key is known to others. So I know that my wallet is not safe and I try to move my balance but it always loses fast. I think they are using a robot to do the transaction. So our hands lose fast with human-made robots. Until now I have always ignored any notifications in my chat when it comes to assets, offers, or requests for help. Newbies may need to emulate my ignorance so as not to get caught by a thief.

too risky for the scammer to giveaway his private key as well but yep they always take the risky things in life. if the victim wanna be is quicker to send out the USDT, he'd be laughing hard leaving a soop to the scammer.  Grin

If someone click the bait for some tokens on the given wallet then youll definitely find yourself in a race which one who wouls transfer it. Probably scammer will use bot or simply fast hand it when theres a coin or token deposited on the wallet he is using. He can be notified by using some bots notifier when a token or coin drops on his wallet. Then goodbye, to that tokens. Only newbie would fall on this obvious trick actually.

I never encountered these kinds of scam, but dang, if that is their way then it is really a bad and lazy way to scam someone that will even involve risking their own wallet, lol. I get quite a number of scam messages in my own Telegram, but I never encountered these kinds of messages. Usually it just involved investing/sending x money  to  y wallet.

No matter how many times you turn telegram upside down you will always find a scammer there even a group of scammers. That's why I don't trust people so easily on telegram unless the group I joined is from legit source. Also don't believe in images that they provide as it could be edited or they really did it but it is to make you fall to their so called a way to earn crypto or whatever they say about earning crypto.

Those cases I encountered usually have single type of token (tron) in the wallet, mostly a stable coin in large amount sometimes in million with recent transactions on the log. I feel the transaction history are also deceptive and they make if look like it was mistaken drop on the space. I always avoid free form of money especially in that size in this space, it mostly like a scam.

This isn't new actually but might be new for you. A lot of similar scams happening around Telegram. I often receive such as DM, instead of reply then just block. Because I know it will be just a waste of time. Don't reply to random message that you aren't familiar with them. Don't be greedy, just block.

There is someone here on the forum who created a thread about his wallet all funds are automatically sent to another wallet every time he deposits any amount.
Which I think is related to this maybe the one who created a thread recently is a victim of this scheme.
Here's the thread I'm talking about https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406545.0

Hackers might be using other user's accounts and spread them and later use a node with a bot script to automatically send all funds received from that wallet.
The only way to counter this is that also make a node and run a bot to automatically send it to your own wallet must be faster than the hacker's bot but the problem is I can't find a script on Github. I have a link before but it was deleted.

We need to be more cautious as fraud tricks become more sophisticated. It is not a new form but it will still be effective, hitting everyone's greed on the head. After checking the wallet has money, if the victim becomes greedy he will immediately transfer the money to make gas fees but in the end it is greed that makes him the real victim of this scam.

The only way to counter this is that also make a node and run a bot to automatically send it to your own wallet must be faster than the hacker's bot but the problem is I can't find a script on Github. I have a link before but it was deleted.

I think we don't need to do so, it's best to do nothing and stay away from all of them because it's not our money either.
