I agree. At that time when the main leagues in the world were stopped, I decided to be placing bets on teams I don't know, the following happened:

1 - I looked at both teams

2 - I looked at the last 5 games of the two teams

3 - then I would place bets on the team that had the best result in the last 5 games, but I also only chose games in which one team was much superior to the other team

the result was disastrous, it was normal for a team to see goals and that in the last 5 games won all games, to lose against an under goals team that did not win at least 1 game in the last 5 games

Of all the points, I agree with 6 and 7 the most. A lot of gamblers always follow their favorite team blindly even though the odds of that team winning is very poor. If you're looking at sports betting as something that can give you money on the side, you'll ignore your personal bias and go for obvious winners for your bets despite it going against your favorites. For number 7, most of us just bet and forget. It's a bad habit since we cannot track our progress and the money that we've lost along the way. Sometimes, we have our personal biases and we think that we should support the team or players that we want to see playing. But because of the odds and being a gambler, we have to settle that favoritism and being a fan due to the reason that we understand.

I myself have some biases when it comes to certain sports, and I've done some pretty dumb shit by betting on them on a losing match but hey, it isn't that weird for me to hope for something to happen. I also especially like betting on dark horses when it comes to matches so betting on my bias even though they're lower compared to their enemy is pretty normal for me. Yes, those tips may not be directly helpful to win the game but rather help ourselves to come up with new ideas and to help us manage our emotions that all of us are having difficulties. For me we should also make a simple research for the team stats in the game we are about to bet, just don't rely to our personal bias, all team are having improvement every year.
