There are less than 2 months left until the end of mining, and 30 megahash will give you a profit of 50 cents per day. In China, a RX 580 8 GB graphics card costs $100 now. If a seller offers it to you for $200, then it is expensive.

In theory expensive,however if you get a good card which consumes very little electricity I would not say that it is expensive anymore because you win over the long run.For example if you can find the Rx 6600 at 50 watt in that hash rate I consider it a good investment but if you find Rx 580 at 130 watt then it is not a good investment over time.It all depends on your electricity price,the cards which run with very low power consumption are not a headache,ten cards at 50 watt each is 500 watt while ten cards at 130 watt each is 1300 watt in total and that is a big difference.

My memory might be hazy but I am pretty sure back in late 2016 and early 2017 you could of scored an RX 470 8gb for around that price. The MSRP was higher but there were many rebates that many manufactures were having.

Now it’s crazy that someone 6 years later is asking the same for the used 5-6 year old GPUs. Seems that majority of the Polaris were all money makers for everybody that bought one.

I would buy ten of these if they were new and 200 each.

And it seems to me that this video card will never pay off after the end of ethereum mining. even a GeForce GTX 1660 Super would be a better buy.

For you it would be 50 cents profit as you have probably free electricity. If you don't have free electricity and live in Europe you might only make 20 cents profit max.

Everyone seems to calculate still with free electricity or 0.10 kWh while on another continent it is more than 0.36 kWh.

It is about time that experienced miners like yourself take that in account.

That would be a difficult range to achieve because we are now at 300$ in the best possible case for 49 Mhsh which is somewhat of an improvement but not that much compared to the ranges you are referring to.Nevertheless electricity plays a big role here,I would buy cards at 300$ for near 50 Mhsh,6 of such card can make a mining rig at 300 Mhsh for just like 2200 USD in total so still worth a shot in my opinion.

The ideal ranges should be those ones you are referring,getting a Rtx 3080 in the next cycle for 200 dollars would be a nice one.

he can get 5 rtx 3050 new for just under 2k
he can get an eight card board with no risers for 100
he can get a bitmain psu for 100

2200 and the gpus are under warranty for 2 years maybe 3.

that is only 5 or 6 a day and power is maybe 15kwatts a day I have 5 cent power in my commercial mine  but in the home I have 17 cent power

so my cost is 2.60

say 6-2.6 = 3.4 a day that means 700 days to pay it off.   not great if eth goes by by

Maybe if you like tech, need a card to your PC and starts with 1 GPU, could be a good idea, or if you want to mine your own coins, and ETH is not your choice...

Blah video card Radeon RX 480 8GB gives about 50 cents of profit at a price of 0.045 kWh. If your price is above 0.1 kWh, then I always advised you to think carefully before starting mining and use a calculator.

30 mh for the current difficulty is very little it is a gain of a few cents a day, regardless of the price at which you have found such a gpu it is better to spend a little more and buy a more powerful card

The price here is of the utmost importance. If you have cheap electricity, then you win if you buy a px 580 video card from other miners who buy expensive 3060 video cards.
Electricity is the main expense of the miner, and if you have it higher than that of large mining pools: 4-6 cents, then you lose.

Nvidia is keeping their new gpus locked, they dont want to release them now because that would make a second hand rtx 3070 around 200 usd, I'm not joking, they have been manipulating the market, while in the pandemic they inflated the price, now after the pandemic and no excuses whatsoever, they want to keep the prices inflated by milking less gpus, nvidia never wanted to sell their gpus at msrp, not even now, they got used to overprice their products because idiots were overpaying for it, who spoiled nvidia were idiots --> people with more money than sense.

I bought 2 x 3080 10gb evga ftw3 for 900 usd each on 07 of february 2021 for work, I guess you bought in the end of february, when things got insane. I would never pay anything more than 1000 usd for a 3080 at that time because it was new, now I would not even pay 600 usd for a 3080.
