I think Ruiz will win this fight. Ortiz is old. That's my first consideration. But Ortiz can punch. He can put an opponent to sleep. But I cannot say that he still has that power in his hands. Probably he's still got it, but he definitely has a lower limit now. He can't throw a number of them with his age.

But Ruiz on the other hand has been inactive for more than a year. And since he's given an Ortiz as an opponent, he could be doing a worse training than when he was about to face Joshua the second time around. So he might not be the strong Ruiz in this match. Ortiz still has a chance.

now, i am thinking that this will be the retirement fight for ortiz, to get one last paycheck before hanging up the gloves. but who knows, he will hang up as winner if ruiz will not prepare this fight. being inactive may have an impact, but if ruiz is serious on this fight, his team will prepare hard so as not to second guess when he's inside the ring.

Anyone who knows it's his last fight will give it all but old age will stop him. Since this is a heavyweight, I would expect a KO both o them can throw as heavy as possible.

When the fight will last longer than the 5th round,  Ruiz will beat Ortiz by points, or Ortiz will eventually be exhausted and be knocked by an uppercut.

Yes, that is the thing with Ortiz, his age so he gasses out early, in the Wilder fight, he really hurt Wilder and could be ahead on the judges score card if I'm not mistaken.

But as the round goes and progress, Ortiz gets tired and so Wilder takes advantage of it, and then deliver the knock out in round 7. I think that is the blue print on how to beat Ortiz.

It's probably because he throws everything with power, with bad intent to hurt his opponents very early. But when this doesn't affect them, he will simply gets tired around round 5. And that's where his opponents will have the upper hand now because they know that he is exhausted and worn out. So one strategy of Ruiz is to just survived and not to get knock out and then he smells that Ortiz fatigued, he can go and look for his power right just like what he did against Anthony Joshua.

Ruiz is the obvious favorite as far as the odds though. He is not that active though, so hopefully there will be no ring rust for him. Otherwise if Ortiz started to get hot in the early round and caught him with good shots then maybe it will have a serious consequence.

Still worth to watch this fight though, I mean two heavy banger and I would say that both are in the breaking point of their career. A lost will simply put them out of the contention.

He is the younger guy and as Ortiz is already over 40. We cannot forget that Ruiz upset Joshua the first time they meet, so I have my trust him since Ortiz is not a champion and he is probably going to retirement. I just hope that we will see an exciting fight, and if Ruiz will indeed win this, he will be given a chance to fight Joshua again for a trilogy.

I'm not taking out Ortiz's chances, though Ruiz is the favorite here, based on both fighter's last fight, conditioning, and motivation, on their last fights Ortiz has the better outcome compared to Ruiz, on conditioning both fighters are on top conditions on motivation they are on their all-time high because this fight is a career leveling up for another shot of the title, they are both hungry for another shot, Ruiz is favorite here but Ortiz is good at messing up people's expectations, this will be exciting as we headed on the fight.

Conditioning is still a question on Ortiz, yes he has obviously a chance because there's no question that he is one of the biggest puncher in Heavyweight division specially in his prime year. But as he gets old, as I have said, most of his losses is because he run out of steam in the middle rounds and that's where he become susceptible and then getting defeated. For sure, they have accepted this fight and so they are hungry for another shot at the title (but I'm hesitated to give them a chance against the current breed of champions.

Here is the full kick off press conference, you can see the Andy Ruiz has really trimmed down in weight, you can barely recognized him right now. Luis Ortiz though, his age is really showing, but I think he can still fight and he still one of the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division.

And I agree that Ortiz problem will be his stamina, and he knows it, but he has a good head movement and has a quick feet to step in and out. Also not just stamina, but the question on his chin, Ruiz is a big puncher and so once he landed one solid punch, his chin might not cope with the power.

Thanks bro, actually, this is the fight that Ruiz has to show up, it's going to be the start of his success as once he wins this, he will get a big fight for sure. I don't know what's gonna happen but I think the favorite will win here, I presume that Ruiz will be the favorite and he will beat the old underdog.

Do we have the betting odds of this fight already? Also, is it possible to watch it through live free streaming?

As per sportsbet, the odds for this fight is,

Ruiz: 1.28
Ortiz: 3.40

So Ortiz is a huge underdog in this fight, maybe it was due to what we have discussed already, he is old and gasses out.

But he still pack and could be considered one of the hardest hitter in Heavyweight even at his age. And for those who are not aware of, Tyson Fury has retired, and has been given by WBC up to the last week of August to finalized it. So if he retire, then the whole Heavyweight landscape will change.

I consider this a risky bet, Ruiz is still very dangerous he is always one punch away from a win, you can see that in the Martin Fight, he is getting beaten and on the brink of losing until that one punch and I believe he can land one big punch because Ortiz is not the kind fighter that will dance and move around he loves to go engage, and that will put him in danger if he goes toe to toe against Ortiz.

It's obvious that there is no value in the ML bet for Ruiz, and it might be good for the underdog Ortiz because they odd is good. And as you have said, just one punch can change the complexion of any fight and Ortiz is one hell of a bad dude that throws everything with bad intent, hehehe.

So this is also possible, maybe a hail mary shot that hit Ruiz right on the chin and let's see if it can stay or would be broken by Ortiz power.

And that's exactly why the odds are in favor of Ruiz. What's the issue? Ruiz is the huge favorite in this match. He is the younger fighter. You must be referring to Ortiz?

Well, if I would make a bet in this fight, I guess it is not bad to make a small one for Ortiz. He's past 40, yes, but Ruiz could easily be put to slumber with a perfect punch. Ruiz is the inactive fighter here. And he hasn't been showing much power lately unlike Ortiz.

2-3 years ago probably but now, we can just anticipate the fight to rely on how fat can Ruiz be in the fight. He definitely was fast when he fought with AJ. The bookmakers rarely carry out inaccurate odds if they perceive Ruiz to win, it will happen. If anything goes wrong like suddenly Ruiz is defeated by KO, the promoter and even his team will doubt him from then on. It will be a career ender.

The fight is getting closer and he really needs to win this fight in order to continue his career. Since his opponent is a power puncher, he cannot just rush to end the fight in the early rounds he needs to exhaust his opponent throughout the rounds and patiently wait for the right timing to unleash some power punches. He really had a surprising win when he won that heavyweight title and I'm sure he can still do the same in this fight, he just needs to lessen the pressure on himself.

But he seems to lost weight already and not the fight Ruiz anymore? Or maybe that extra body weight on him really help him in the Joshua fight as he packs a lot of power to Anthony's face.

However, that is years ago, he lost in the rematch and now both in the middle, a career crossroads.

So whoever loss in this fight, he needs to make some big decisions in the future, whether to continue to work or just quit it completely.

For Ortiz maybe retirement is possible if he lose, but for Ruiz, I think he is still young and can still fight. Well, I'm not thinking he would retire though as I am confident he will win this fight and would probably have a big fight after this.

For Ortiz, I can see the reasoning. However, Ruiz has looked good much of his career it was only after the second fight against Joshua he lost his way a little bit. There's plenty of time for him to bounce back from that, given he remains as dedicated as he was prior to that fight. You've got to feel for him, never really had big fights prior to the first Joshua fight, then knocks him out giving him his first loss, and obviously that sudden fame, and money can get to a person, and it clearly got to Ruiz.

I think he said in an interview he couldn't stop partying, and that's going to effect your career. Plenty of trainers, and fighters have said he wouldn't come training after that, and its probably due to not being ready for that sort of exposure, and wealth.

Ruiz is a good fighter, and very fast for his size. If he can get a few wins under his belt, he might just discover that passion he had before the money. Plus, by the sounds of it he might have wasted a lot of that money he won, and therefore that could've dried up or be close to doing so reigniting that fire he had once before.

Yeah, more likely Ruiz can continue, but still he used to be the new hype in the boxing after he upsets Joshua and he did show a lot of potential. But soon the partying started, he didn't focus on the fight but instead enjoy the big windfall and the publicity he got. Fought Joshua again, but this time Anthony beat him, and suddenly we goes underground. So this could be the same for him if he losses, he could be in obscurity and no one will remember his career except for that one big win he got.

I read that Wilder is on the side of Ortiz on this fight.

He said that he is very determined and motivated and have the skills to beat Ruiz.

Quote
“My money and heart are on Ortiz,” said Wilder. “It's unfortunate that he's had lesser opportunities. He has the skill, hard work, and heart. He's determined and motivated. Fighting him twice, we have built a brotherhood and very strong relationship with each other. It's amazing what boxing can do. They can make you enemies or make you love each other. I'm always going to root for him, but I'm also a realist. I do see Ortiz winning this fight in a devastating fashion, and controlling the fight. A lot of people look at his age, but age only defines a person so far ... I'm looking forward to seeing him do great things. If he continues to do great things, we might see Ortiz vs. Wilder III. So let’s go, Luis. I don't think anyone would deny that.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/wilder-picks-usyk-beat-joshua-ortiz-best-ruiz-devastating-fashion--168415

So they remain friends after 2 fights, good to hear, and maybe that's why he is on the bandwagon. And it's good though, Ortiz is the underdog here, so if Wilder or others beat on him, for sure the payout will be big.

As per the interview of both of this fighter, they are looking to knock each other out. I mean this is big dude so obviously they have the capability to do that. Both can even go up the canvass and beat their opponent out.

Even Andy Ruiz himself guarantee that a knock out is going to happen, so maybe to hype the fight and so it will be interesting to see this two in the ring. And this is a WBC title eliminator so whoever wins here will be up for the WBC belt.
