The emergence of social media opened way for so many prospects. It is rather fortunate that these days due to economic downturns persons have instead found a way to turn 'likes to dollars'.
I could remember how individuals lived a fake life all due to the fact that they felt the need to belong to the trend of those who lived flashy. A time later, the wise ones saw how to optimize data bills and quality content and when they called themselves 'influencers,' they made some cash. Check out the rising cost of inflation across the globe, career shift or other downturns...those who have been on the side of this current economic predicament thought smart and yes, it worked.
More businesses ever since the pandemic have explored social media for various reasons and what stands out most is the remote experience of earning from any location. Socializing has never been smoother yet beneficial due to the owning fact of the financial trust system built between socialites of a common interest.  Social media is more for business these days than for meaningless or fake fame.

Well, my company are mostly using WhatsApp groups to communicate with their different teams these days to delegate tasks... receive feedback on project deadlines and to plan future projects.    So, we are flooded with messages every day.... and you cannot get away from work... even when you are not at work. 

I think the Covid pandemic has opened the gates for companies to infringe on people's "private" time, because lockdowns has forced people to work from home... and some companies has now got used to having 24/7 communication channels with their employees. Social media is still a good place to socialize and keep updated with the current issues and trend but since everyone uses it now, it opened many ideas from entrepreneurs to utilize and use it as an advantage on their businesses to reach more potential customers.

It isn't just about the economic situations but it is the realization that their business has a lot more room to grow if they adapt with the current technology that we have now.

regarding the change of socializing into a land for business, I think it is part of the development over time, as you said many people do business on social media, if it is profitable for both parties I think there is no problem with it, even you can try to do business on social networks if it is profitable.

About the average people this can be good as well as bad, because people became rich from scratch in no time like Khaby with his reactions alone.

This happened a long time ago and is hardly a new trend. Where people congregate there is the opportunity to make money and there are many ways that will be utilized. Ranging from genuine adverts that are built into the social network sidebars or feeds, groups that are set up with the ability to sell products within them or just downright subversive & manipulative marketing which is a form of astroturfing. The worst kinds are fake review type situations where they do not make it clear that they're advertising a product to their "followers". It has never been easier to start an online business, but social networks have to walk a fine line because if the place starts looking too spammy then users might start to gravitate elsewhere.

Well it can be categorised. There are people who use social media platforms for social life as well as people using it for business needs. There isn't a need for mixup, at times even the user who is thinking about using it for social life will also come across some business markets. For facebook yes but for i.g and twitter, not really. I guess that's because many people uses facebook but in facebook, they have this section called marketplace. That's a more appropriate place to place your business. There are buy and sell groups as well, that can be found inside the platform. This was mainly used before by business minded people before those marketplaces were invented.

Facebook is not only for business but you can still socialize with your friends, family and even strangers. The reasons that you state are right. Those are the reason on why many people are now doing business in social media but the covid 19 is what contributed a lot for this.

In the past we had separate platforms for marketing. Now this is the place were money is flowing. For this reason marketing is being prioritised on every social media platforms. Meta have got Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Facebook is completely flooded with marketing, Instagram is beyond that. And not only that, those big social media apps are striving to maximize the screen time of their users with their state-of-the-art algorithm, which truly works and affects some people. The mountainous data that each user gives is bliss for their own data-collection platform.

I don't think it gives any good noting of how it affects teen mental health dues to excessive consumption, and the extraneous data they collect which could being used to polarize one's opinion. On the surface, social media is free but in another sense, we are paying a high price for it.
