Just because you have the funds doesn't mean you should invest in every single token/coin in the top 10 marketcap. All the top 10 marketcap crypto projects might not necessarily do well in the next Bull market but as you have mentioned in your second option sounds better to me even with the availability of funds. I will rather invest in few coins/tokens that I have confirmed to have proven their worth in investment than just invest in any that finds its way to the top 10 MC for any reason.

Bitcoin investment have minimized risk but not earn huge profit like altcoin although with small fund for investing, different when try trading with altcoin price could pump above 100% and almost impossible chance we can earn higher profit with bitcoin. But you right with bigger risk in front us when investing with altcoin, many time altcoin price drop drastically more than 200% just few weeks only. Nowadays what ever altcoin kinds not guarantee without drop drastically although have clear fundamental, maybe WAVES coins become example how drastically drop from all time high raising last several months above $50 and right now Waves coin drop under $5 and this coins have clear fundamental.

I agree with that the new altcoins is very risky for investment in this current situation except the top pairs like - BNB , Etherium, Lite coin , Solana . Most coins are expected to have a lower value from their all time high value this bear market, Even bitcoin have fallen tough it's not permanent. Remember that we have a market cycle and those who have low fundamental projects are the one who will keep depreciating it's value. Top coins such as BNB, Ethereum, Solana has a great fundamentals and community to support it's coins value that why it's not falling too much compared to other coins. Every coin in this market has risk even on long term, and we just need to balance the risk by picking a good coin, fully understand how it works and trust their team so we can choose what type of risk are we facing.

OP wants short term profit, bitcoin is not a solution for short term profit either. The short answer is that there are no coins that can meet the requirements of OP unless he is willing to take risks in order to gain profits in the short run.

We are in a bear market, so other than risking investing in memecoins, there are no other ways in which you can make quick money. The bear market is not a time for us to look for profits but a time for us to accumulate assets to prepare for the upcoming bull season, the profits will be huge if we know how to seize the opportunity.

Although sometimes the coins in the top 10 market cap may not do well in the next Bull market, it is possible if the coins in the top 10 market cap also increase.
