According to the text of the contract signed between the two parties, if one of them breaches one of the terms of the contract or the whole contract, he is required to pay one billion dollars to the other party. And this is what Twitter is seeking after it confirmed that Elon Musk was seeking to terminate the contract against the background of fake accounts. It is not clear whether Elon Musk will demand the billion dollars in compensation if it is discovered that the percentage of fake accounts exceeds 5 percent, as the company announced at the beginning of the deal.

But this raises the most important question, which is why Elon Musk took this step from the beginning? I mean, why offer to buy the entire shares of the company? I can't imagine Mr. Musk not knowing the true value of the company to offer a double amount.

Don't forget that he sold part of Tesla's shares to fund the deal before he announced his abandonment of it.
I began to align myself with the hypothesis that this man seeks to remain in the spotlight to satisfy psychological whims. This may cost him a lot of effort, time and money. But I do not really find convincing explanations for his actions.

I don't know how serious Elon ever was about buying Twitter.  I think it's possible, but that's a huge chunk of his net worth to sink into something that he could probably recreate himself for a fraction of the cost. 

What I do know is that Elon managed to get the "public" to vote on him dumping his Tesla shares at the top on his supporters and cashing out a massive amount of money while having people talk about his Twitter objectives.  I'm not sure there could have been a better misdirection technique.  He cheated on his wife, got a coworker pregnant, dumped the top on Tesla shareholders, dumped his company's BTC after saying he wouldn't, and we're all talking about Twitter.  This is why Elon is a genius.

Maybe it was his plan all along. He had a beef with twitter over these bots and deleted tweets, so he did what he does best and stirred it up to make all the dirt come to the surface and then walked away.
I don't know how much twitter is really worth and how much Musk knew before he made the offer, but he's a troll who likes attention and a person who always gets hyped about doing something and then abandons the idea, like he did with so many of his tech projects.

Never be in a rush to celebrate when Elon Musk offers to buy your company. Their deal seems to be so easy, one is selling, other is buying, everyone would be happy. But not with Elon. Still no one knows real reason to buy Twitter, no one knows Twitter indignations (its stock price is the same as it was before this deal). Dont understand why dont Elon keep playing with his rockets and Neorolink. Cant imagine how this all will end, but I know that big guys will definitely gonna earn big no matter what this deal outcome would be.

In a perfect world, Twitter would be sent to the gulag to rot because it is worthless and has displaced society backwards. It's not savable. Somebody would need to start over from scratch, first by nuking all of its users and content.

Ukrainian troops complain of trouble with Musk's Starlink – FT

Outages of the Starlink communications system have led to a "catastrophic" loss of communication between Ukrainian troops as they battled Russian forces, the Financial Times (FT) reported on Friday.

The news triggered concerns that Elon Musk may have done something to the service in response to Ukrainian denunciations of his peace plan, but the SpaceX magnate called the newspaper's article "bad reporting."

Musk gave Ukraine thousands of Starlink terminals back in March, helping Kiev's military to "operate drones, receive vital intelligence updates and communicate with each other in areas where there are no other secure networks," as the FT described it.

In recent weeks, as Ukrainian forces moved into territory previously controlled by Russian forces, the systems stopped working on multiple occasions. One senior Ukrainian official told the FT this led to a "catastrophic" loss of communication, including during "pitched battles." Failures were "widespread" and "prompted panicked calls from soldiers to helplines," said another official.

Roman Sinitsin, who runs a nonprofit that directs Starlinks to the Ukrainian military, said the problem may have been due to Musk's SpaceX having a block on the signal in Russian-held areas.

"It is absolutely clear to me that this is being done by representatives of Starlink to prevent the usage of their technology by Russian occupation forces," Sinitsin told the FT, urging SpaceX to coordinate more closely with the Ukrainian military.
