Well disappointing news...

Binance has creddited ETHW and enabled withdraws. However for some reason they did not open trading? Why.

Without Binance I don't think the coin will be much of a success. So far largest exchanges are FTX and Kraken and Bitfinex. Was hoping to get Coinbase and Binance.

I'm surprised that FTX/Kraken/BitFinex supported it all so quickly.  I guess they don't care as long as it generates extra fees.  I suspect trading will open up as soon as they feel confident they've figured out the whole chain separation thing...  I can only imagine the difficulties involved.

I wonder who will be the first NFT platform to support ETHW.  Are Bored Apes going to demand a high price?  Will people setup other duplicate services on ETHW?  Seems like the first movers will have one hell of an advantage...

Still no official support from native wallets like Exodus for this coin.I am waiting for it before maybe I turn on my rigs again and start mining it,I know there is Metamask but I prefer more wallets I am used to.The first movers always get an advantage especially in mining, the people who collect the most of any coin, well a good coin which this ETHW wants to be,are the ones to make huge profits if things go the right way and I don't see any reason why they should not go the right way.

Maybe I should go with Metamask and stop waiting but let's see a bit further how things unfold and I will jump straight in.

I am also rather surprised by major exchanges like OKX, Kraken, Bitfinex, FTX, and others supporting it quickly when ETH turning POS was able to gather strong support from their community.

This is the current trading volume taken from Coingecko. Its huge trading volume might be enough for Binance and Coinbase to follow soon. And its price starts to become steady now. I thought the dump would continue down to the $1 to $2 mark.

Ethereum PoW hit by replay exploit
How was the attack initiated?
The hacker first sent 200 wrapped ETH on the PoS mainnet using the Gnosis chain’s Omni bridge. It was a standard bridge transfer. The same message (call data) was then replayed on the ETH PoW chain to get 200 ETHPoW (ETHW) tokens.

The attack could take place because the Omni bridge didn’t correctly verify the chain ID associated with the cross-chain message.

This will only make it worse for the beginning of ETHW which is not going that well but I think these attacks are a clear sign that the coin needs to be perfected, tuned and worked on.Personally I was expecting something like this but not such soon just after a couple of days after the merge. In order for this coin to be successful the team behind it should either hire some good knowledgeable enough person or try and fix the vulnerabilities themselves. This coin is brand new and it needs a lot of work, remember that even ETH first was hacked and is called ETC now while after the hack they changed a couple of things and from then very few problems happened.Things are looking pretty gloomy.

Yes it’s most likely due to that replay attack. I think they might be waiting and seeing if any other issues arrive. They have the withdraws enabled so it seems odd not to enable the trading.

The replay attack I don’t understand. Maybe someone can explain. Someone sent 200 ETH on the real ETH network using a smart contract and got 200WETH and they replayed it on the ETHW blockchain and also got 200 WETH? If so why did the other token allow ETHW transactions. This is where I am puzzled a little.

ETHW Surges as Binance Launches Ethereum Proof-of-Work Mining Pool
Binance warned that supporting ETHW on Binance Pool does not guarantee it will list the asset.
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance today announced an Ethereum Proof-of-Work (ETHW) mining service for its users. Binance further announced Thursday that those who take part in the ETHW pool will not be charged a fee until October 29.

I am no developer but I am assuming that it would be plug and play for ETHW since the code is more or less the same. With ETC the code is slightly different. So I am sure if it maintains a decent value there will be apps for ETHW but right now it’s too early too tell.

We had a nice pump this week. I feel if we weren’t in a bear market and if the GBP didn’t almost crash we would be at $50 levels. But many are scared to buy right now.

Now is the best time to mine it as I have already said, the Binance creating a pool for it greatly will enhance this coin despite them stating that this does not constitute that we will list it.It is much easier to develop on the ETHW but it is extremely early for this and most likely the developers need a bit more time in order to fully jump and create beautiful things on top of ETHW which in turn would make this coin to start climbing the ladder to really high levels both in price and adoption.

That is how it should be if they are real, the developers in continuing the legacy of ETH and build the smart contracts like ETH had, beside that to keep it forever as PoW,this can only lead one way which is only up.I am very glad to see such statistics,I have not yet turned on my rigs just waiting a few more days on the government decision as one day they say 5x price of energy will not go live then the other day they say yes it will go live, once this is clear I am going to be a strong supporter of ETHW by mining it as that is the maximum I can do.

Another thing to consider is that ETHW would be more popular if we were in a bull market and ETH had those crazy $50 fees for simple erc20 transfers. During the bull run it got very expensive to run smart contracts, trade NFTs and trade on Defi.

So if we bottom and we start to rally because the fed pivots we might get lots of development because many won’t want to pay crazy fees on ETH and they will switch to ETHw. But right now the fees are very low for ETH. I think I paid like $0.33 to send some Erc20 token a few days back.

Are you saying that is this the right time to mine ETHW? Since I was using Nicehash until ETH went POS, should I continue to mine using Nicehash? And if I need to connect to this Binance pool for mining ETHW, what software should I use? I am running Windows 10 and 8x3080s (non-LHR).

You can mine it through Nicehash if they have added support for it which I think they have should done so already. If not you are not forced to mine it in the Binance pool but there is only for convenience to mine there, there is Lolminer together with all the other miners like Nbminer and company where you can mine it from different pools,2miners pool being one of the early adopters of this coin.

I would mine it right now where the difficulty is low and the price is low, despite at a loss as when it hit the right path, you will thank yourself later. With 8 3080 non lhr you should be making a really really good amount of this coin daily right now.

You can mine Ethw with nicehash But, NH doesnt pay you in Ethw.  NH only pays in BTC and Nothing at all is profitable enough even through NH to make it worth while.  you might as well mine it directly so you at least have some coins for wild speculation.  =>

EthereumPOW Disbands Core Development Team to Pursue Autonomy
EthereumPOW Core developer has signaled the dissolution of the core development team. A detailed statement from the team underscores how this move marks a significant step toward exploring ETHW’s potential to operate independently without the Core team’s support.

The team, having fulfilled essential technical and operational prerequisites, decided to dissolve the core development organization through majority consensus and extensive deliberations, manifesting a landmark shift in the organizational structure shown at the time the Ethereum Merge event took place last year.
