Just a simple poll to get a feeler on what this part of the forum thinks of ETH and the altcoin market right now.  I would've asked for 2.5k but I guess breaking out 2k has as much psychological effect as 2.5k.

Anyway, how do you guys feel about the market right now?  Getting bullish?  And in a good way?  There are times when you have to worry when everybody starts getting bullish.  I feel like this is not that.  But dunno...  I want to know what you guys think.

I do agree that it is not going to be something that is hard to reach, 2k is right there now and if we go like 10-20% higher than we are going to reach 2k, but at the same time I think it will probably not be something that would be hard to miss neither, we are nearly there and that means we may also miss it.

As a person who usually thinks we are going up at all times, even when going down, I know it is weird to say that it won't be going above 2k, but that is just how I feel. It will eventually be 2k and then 3k and 4k and 5k and even 10k, but until that we are not going to really end up with anything special for the august month, it will be later on for sure.

More than 20 days left for the month. Right now ethereum is trading at $1700+, more $300 to the price can happen anytime. I've been positive on this based on today's price movement of bitcoin. Everytime the price of bitcoin increase, the same can be found with altcoins. The price of bitcoin that went above $24k have come down and moving around $23900. This looks like stability gain, and soon the price could start moving and reach $25k. Maybe by that time ethereum can be seen above $2k.

I’m not being pessimistic here but I think it can’t happen with ETH alone, we need Bitcoin to pump the market and probably altcoins will follow. Though looking at the chart right now, it’s good to have that white candles waiting for a breakout, I’m not in position right now and I’m just waiting for other confirmations before buying, ETH can still reach that price when the recover of the market begins.

I'm still more think to bearish.

My expectation price is to follow "BTC Price" first, need to hit target -80%+ counting from the all-time high. So, In there has some chance we can hit or break under 15,000$ gonna to enter at that price.

My research is simple, just based history price rally of BTC and then waiting next halving bitcoin for the next rally.

I'm still bullish for Ethereum for this month especially when Ethereum broke the $1,800.
Plus the upcoming updates of Ethereum 2.0 which is fundamentally bullish for me.
Another thing we should also need to watch is Bitcoin which these days Ethereum really correlates to Bitcoin.

It's not easy for ETH to hit $2k again even though ETH is just less than $300 again to become $2k at current prices. No one knows when ETH will be able to get back to $2k again, but I feel that it could be reached later this month if the bitcoin price can go higher than the current price. Maybe if the price of bitcoin returns to $25k this month, it will influence the price of ETH to increase again, raising the price to $2k again. Maybe the price can go to $ 2k temporarily because there is a pump from the whale but I don't know.

whether with the war season occurring in several countries China, Taiwan, Russia, Ukraine can catalyze the price of bitcoin and ethereum even higher. I think the situation that happened could worsen with the price of crypto, yes maybe for the increase that will occur you are expecting this. If the US market continues to be better, we can expect the full recovery of cryptomarket as well. Yes, the market is getting a little bullish right now but why ask if it's in a good way? I think all bullish are good as it's the season where people can make a nice profit. Maybe you mean this is only a trap? I think not anymore but I have a strong feeling that this current one is now real because we are now getting close to the ber months and the year is going to end soon so there must be some improvements.

I don't worry when everybody starts to feel bullish but I am happy about it because people are too positive. They will now buy more for one last minute and then they they will hodl tight until the full bull is achieved but it's okay if you're not one of them.

The market is getting better, we are near to reach the price of $2k so I think it can really reach this Month of August. If the US market continues to be better, we can expect the full recovery of cryptomarket as well. Far from recovery but at least a good sign of life, ETH can still go further and that $2k can easily be hit when the market becomes more stable. What’s the good news here is that, many countries are slowly recovering from a recession, though it may still take some time but at least we are on that way. If you are able to buy ETH, know when to sell and don’t be greedy because the market is still volatile and the price can still drop.

Ethereum is very close to breaking the $2000 barrier, the price is now at $1880, Ethereum may succeed in breaking the price, but I don't think that it will last long, the general situation of the market is highly volatile and there is not enough liquidity to make the coins maintain their positions, anyway August was good for Bitcoin, Ethereum and the market in general. Hopefully the market will keep improving.

Ok, change my mind and voted "Yes", it seems that we are somewhat in a crypto bullish phase, specially Ethereum, it has broken the $1900 barrier now, and bitcoin almost on the threshold on breaking $25k, and even if that barrier is not broken, it will get weaken by the hour and obviously, just a matter of time before it can be breached.

I guess those who voted are kinda early though, prior to the current surge and not sure about the effect of the POS merge. And that that we have the CPI news and it seems not that bad and way below the expected numbers, it seems it has affected the bullish mentality now.

Well it’s definitely going to do one of three things. It will perhaps just dick around more or less where it is now. But be careful, it may also totally tank a few hundred pounds. There is a chance though, that it will continue its rally and increase in value by a couple of hundred.

There "is" a right or wrong answer here if you would like to actually do what you said you believe in. I mean if you think it will break over 2k and be a good price, then end up buying it as well that means there is a right answer, and if you think it will be over 2k but it fails to, and you lose money then that was a wrong answer. So, people should realize that this is just a poll and nobody should make any investments based on a poll.

I think that in the long run it will break it, maybe this month, maybe not, but it will be over 2k and even be over 10k eventually and that is something I invest accordingly, doesn't mean I would suggest anyone else to do it just because I am doing it.

I voted "Yes" but I think it will be temporary and will end the month at below $2k.

Seems The Merge is too obvious a play to assume it will keep going up all the way through Sept 15, when the fork is estimated to occur.

Part of me wants some serious disruption, chaos and confusion by things not going as planned, with a bigger contingency than anticipated adhering to ETHPoW, or is it ETH1, or ETH2? Whatever the original chain will be known as.

The other part of me recognizes the implication of such a disruption on the broader market and a failure of a smooth merge could be an anti-catalyst, a resumption of the bear market, and that's no good for anybody.

Perhaps if the war in Ukraine ends on the same day that Ethereum PoS blows up that will be a perfect counterbalance of forces.

I'd see no big change but seems to get lightened up when seeing a few pumps on its price in the past days. Not really I think we are about to reach $2,000 but I was confident that it remains above $1,500. Not bad as to see at this current condition and I see no worries to those who invest in this project as I believe it will carry over and pass this bear season.
I'd see the merge that is about to happen cause some surge in its demand making the price spike. I'd see such an influence to the investor's mindset.

It has been days since the time of your posts but I think the answer of me will still be "Yes". I think it will test that wick from the early month of 2021 and few hundreds away until we do hit that 2k area. It's not a huge feat to break for ETH considering some considers it as a catalyst this September with the scheduled merge for the network.

^  Funny how some people are trying to convince themselves that the price action is 'sideways' even for BTC.  I mean are we looking at the same chart?  ETH bottomed out at around 800 - 900 and it's 100% up off of those lows right now.  BTC was at 17k and it's up around 40% off of the low. 

As of now, ETH and BTC's current price action is def not sideways.  Look at the chart, ETH broke out twice.

^  The weekly chart doesn't change anything much.  ETH is pretty much still up 100% from the recent low.  And it's been going up for 6 weeks straight now.  That's obv not sideways.  It's breaking out to upper ranges and it's trying to establish itself at the higher range. 

...  Sideways is when it's been going through a tight range in limbo with low volatility.  It's nothing like that rn.

No wonder ETH because I got the news that they are doing a trial for the mainet. They are doing some trials of Bellatrix upgrading on August 4th and merge with Goerli between August 6-12th. In addition, the price of BTC has also increased so I am sure that ETH will follow the movement of the BTC price.  If the trial is successful Mainet will be carried out in the month. They will switch from POW to POS. I think it will have a very strong effect on the price of ETH.

That's right, even today ETH is still around $2000 USD. Several times ETH crossed the $2000 price but then continued with rejection, I think a lot of people placed sell orders at that price so it was quite difficult to cross, besides that $2100 is a resistance line for ETH.

it already does mate, just before the middle of August Ethereum already crossed 2k but now? this very moment that the price is starts to fall again , closing to below 1900 again.
if  this is going to continue then maybe price will stop at least at 1800 or 1700 level once again.

The price of ETH already hit the level of $2k multiple times in the past days though it didn’t stay on that level for long but for sure, once ETH gained another momentum it will eventually go up and stay above $2k. The market is getting better and there’s a great hype with the merging in the network of ETH, if this succeed $3k level might be an easy target to break and become the new support level, we still have a half way through before the end of the Month.

It's clear that the market has been exhausted and that it was overbought during the touchdown at $2k so this correction is something expected, I guess. I think the merge isn't the thing to look out for here but the fork as well, it's been the talk in town especially in Twitter and YouTube. I saw someone labeling it as a disaster and potentially that could affect Ether's price.

I think the hype is lingering around ETH though not enough to trigger FOMO, but it sure will make the price of ETH slowly go up.  Depending on your range of price to call it sideways, I believe ETH will uptrend slowly this August.  And yeah it is still a good time to accumulate ETH by DCA'ing.

The luck of ETH is that somehow people still continue to believe in this altcoin and that is why the price of ETH in relation to bitcoin is at 0.07 BTC and thanks to this price that ETH is still above 1400$ even when the price of bitcoin drops a lot, but the instant that the price of ETH drops a lot in relation to Bitcoin then we will see a big drop in the price of ETH, but for now people don't need to worry, they just have to keep an eye on the price of bitcoin, as long as that also the price of bitcoin does not fall below 17000$ which in my opinion if that happens then even the price of ETH in relation to bitcoin will drop a lot below 0.07 BTC

All the other cryptocurrencies pumped a little to pump Bitcoin a little.  Yes ethereum was in this list already seen ethereum 2k worked but I think situation is not ready yet to go ethereum 2.5k.  We will have to wait a little more time for this as the market is not yet stable but it is expected to start recovering in early to mid 2023 when etherium may be seen at 2.5k+.
However, we should be prepared for any situation as many analysts believe that the market is still likely to turn more bearish

For now the price of Bitcoin is back down and we need to see if it will go back up or it will go back down this is interesting,

What I do believe is that Ethereum bight not get that 2k again till this month ends but indeed that the question applied already broken as 2k is the ATH this August and we will be seeing another one in the next couple of months.

Even if Ethereum doesn't break 2k you can at least use it on MAXX finance during the free claim round to get your MAXX airdrop. If you aren't swing trading you could stake your ETH on Kraken for 3-5% APY. I still believe that Ethereum can breakout this month from $2000,
even though it's now down at $1600 I'm still very confident that it can recover quickly,
indeed August will soon be over, and we know we are still in a bearish season,

Just a simple poll to get a feeler on what this part of the forum thinks of ETH and the altcoin market right now.  I would've asked for 2.5k but I guess breaking out 2k has as much psychological effect as 2.5k.

Anyway, how do you guys feel about the market right now?  Getting bullish?  And in a good way?  There are times when you have to worry when everybody starts getting bullish.  I feel like this is not that.  But dunno...  I want to know what you guys think.

I agree, we can see that the crypto market for all coins is starting to be bullish, and while the crypto market continues to decline due to the pressure from the dollar value through the dollar index (DXY), and the sentiment from the Fed which has not relaxed the country's economy, but I believe the price of bitcoin will increase again, because it's not something hard to miss either. In this case, the most important thing for you in investing in cryptocurrency is patience and thoroughness.

The question is, shouldn't everybody be starting to buy early now instead of waiting to get in at the last minute?  I think ETH is going to go down after the merge imho.  Maybe something kinda like buy the rumor, sell the news kind of scenario happening.  The market just sucks right now and no amount of good news for ETH would take the price higher and stay higher.  Imagine if the merge happened around late 2020.  ETH to 10k easy in a couple of months imho.

The poll is wrong again, sad to say. Although we have a brief run to $1,900 if I'm not mistaken, it was not enough to push pass $2k as the market turn bearish in the last 2 weeks. ETH and BTC lost a lot of ground the current price is $15++. Hopefully with the merger, we will see at least $2k in this pump. And I agree that if the merger happen in the bull run last year, there will be a massive spike in the price, setting new all time high for ETH, timing is wrong, but still it's good for the community so I guess they will have to do it. And it has a lot of delays already so this has to happen regardless of the market sentiments.

I voted "Yes" but I think it will be temporary and will end the month at below $2k.

Seems The Merge is too obvious a play to assume it will keep going up all the way through Sept 15, when the fork is estimated to occur.

Though I thought for sure we'd be higher than the $1500s.

I don't own any ETH, sold the last of it last month, but good god my other crypto bags are going stale.

When will we break out of this funk?

Hopefully the answer is "this month" as Wall Street comes back from summer vacation.

Ethereum did break 2k this August but suddenly drops down before it ends but at least some of us(including me) got a change to earn 7% just this month lol.

and now i am going to buy again maybe waiting for at least 1400 price.

The poll is wrong, but I think its not solely because of the ETH, the crypto market in general currently not that good. The sentiment toward crypto is not that good either, with the fall of Terra and the recent flaw showed by Solana, the the whole crypto industry is getting bad sentiment. However, this ETH merge hype is not ended yet, I hope the hype will take the price higher.

the month is ended , the market already revealed what August brings to Ethereum and I know that Op will again bring another POLL for Sentiment about Ethereum.

I think that 2k is the highest to be a target for ETH , but of course this is the problem as the September is the last month before we entered last quarter,
