The largest transaction so far is 35000BTC in block 65566.
This block had about 19 transactions in, with another transaction involving 10000BTC and several others around the 1000BTC mark.
This is something one is naturally curious about whenever the topic of money comes up.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Might be easier just to take that address owner and send 0.01 to you; check to see if the address matches up.
